  1. I finally had my outdoors running premiere. In the middle of April! Late spring here. It sucked. I stepped in puddles more times than I could count and in the shaded parts of the track I was trampling knee deep in snow. I also felt like an asthmatic moose. FUN.
  2. Maybe as a side project for a small team of hand picked, dedicated guys?
  3. Thanks for trying to communicate with us, Rorie. Honestly though, doing PR jobs in this business must be the most frustrating job there is. I've had to deal with EA's PR guys face to face here in Sweden and it always ended the same way: inches from punching them in the face. Good luck on your new endeavors and thanks for the heads-up, funcroc.
  4. Just got back from an easter weekend in Prague. The beer was not only dead cheap, it was amazing. And the girls wore tube tops. Enough said. I wish every American who drinks that piss Budweiser at least once in their life got to taste Budweiser Budwar.
  5. I don't even know where to begin!! Are you trying to break some sort of record here, Tigranes?
  6. Bluetooth is just a wireless protocol. It's supposed to make things work together in a way that's easy for the end-user. It has worked well for me so far. I have a Logitech Dinovo Edge keyboard that works very well (worked wonderfully well with my cousin's PS3 too). My father has a Bluetooth enabled TV that's much fun to play with: I take pictures with my phone and in the middle of him watching something, I can send that picture to the TV and it automatically pops up in the middle of the screen. Much fun can be had with that function. I can also use it to connect to my PC and control Media Player from my phone, like a weird remote. People are usually pretty impressed by that.
  7. What would you rather type: "We're down because of incredible demand" or "We're down because our coders suck"?
  8. Yes No. Like all new services, they probably ran into some bugs and had to shut down for the time being. They probably just opened the service a bit too soon.
  9. Oh right. I forgot that I bought this. I should probably get around to playing it soon.. just as I should with Mass Effect.. zzz.
  10. It's actually a commercial for.. something. But I thought it was kind of funny: http://www.springbreakitdown.com/
  11. Great news! Colour me interested again! I think a big part of why I got tired of The Witcher and never finished it (and even now don't feel like doing it) is because it may have had pretty graphics, but it felt as stiff and unnatural as Neverwinter Nights. Climbing and jumping goes a long way for me! Perhaps. But I still enjoyed the pixel boobs more than I've ever enjoyed a Bioware romance.
  12. My headset cost 8
  13. Uh.. anyone wanna lend me their credit card number? I'm just gonna.. uh..
  14. Meh, they're out of my price-range. They were rumoured to go for $700.. this is actually a bargain!
  15. Paying girls to have sex with them is pretty sad.. but paying girls to GAME with them.. is there even a word for that? I don't think our vocabulary is ready for the new depths to which we have sunk.
  16. This looks amazing, but with the time how long detailed games like FF XIII have been in development with current technology, i am realy wondering how long would the graphical designers take, to create a single model out of millions of points... not to mention the whole game, whe you would need billions^billions of points to create whole scenery without copy/paste... Creating 1 model and Copy/Paste would look pretty awful imo... So... how... magic... supercomputers ??? i was not talking about machines... but about humans (graphical designers), who have to manualy create the models... When you have to work for a month to create realistic looking model with tens of thousands of polygons how long they would need to create model from millions of points??? It wouldn't have to take long at all. In fact, you could actually hire sculptors to make your models for you! A 'common' 3D scanner produces results that should be very similar to the point clouds he was talking about. It should theoretically be possible to just let a sculptor sculpt something in clay, scan it in and incorporate it into your game. Although this would probably only work for static objects since animations would be a bit tricky done this way..
  17. That was brilliant. But I wonder, how will it be possible to apply effects to the graphics using this system? I mean, using a search function to weed out only the pixels you see on your screen is beyond clever, but doesn't that also mean that all you have to work with after the fact is the frame buffer?
  18. Congratulations, USA. Huge step forward.
  19. That was a really ****ty preview. He's like, "Oh, it's nothing like the old, great Wizardry, just a Gears of War clone". But anyone who has actually played Wizardry knows that it's really an insult to Hunted to compare the two, not the other way around. Wizardry didn't even have a story! It only had combat, loot and levelling up. Dungeon crawl in its purest sense. I believe what Fargo is trying to do is to bring back something similar to that, but using today's technology. It's not necessarily a dumbed down RPG, it's an entirely different type of game. Otherwise it would be like saying Wizardry was a dumbed down RPG, even though it was made before what we now refer to as RPG's were even born.
  20. So why do you even bother replying? I have not played Drakensang, but both Risen and Two Worlds are great games. Risen is a much more difficult game than Two Worlds and both are kind of.. quirky, so they demand quite a bit from the player. You will never be handheld in these games. You will get lost, you will get killed and you will fail quests. If you can live with that (and a rather low level of game polish), I'd recommend them both. Especially since they ought to be cheap now.
  21. Well, since you're running Nvidia, you're getting two more graphics options than I do: Enhanced GPU Water effect and Enhanced Bokeh (background blur) filter. They are both rumoured to be very GPU intensive, even if there's no water nearby. Try turning those off and I'm sure you'll get higher framerates.

    NHL

8 games? That's pretty harsh. 10% of the season gone, just like that. I wonder if Campbell decided to put his foot down because it was so obviously a retaliation hit or if it's because he's a repeat offender? Maybe both.
  23. I just checked: I'm getting 60-90 average fps, sometimes dipping down to 50-something and sometimes up in the hundreds. I have everything on max at 1920x1080, except I turned off motion blur since I think it looks better without it. My rig is a Core i7 920 (@3.0 GHz), 6 GB 1600 MHz CL8 DDR3 RAM and a Radeon 5870 1 GB, running Windows 7 64 bit.
  24. Pretty funny Sony ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0puP8nrIU8 Taking shots at both the Wii and Natal.
  25. Following closely: Alpha Protocol Fallout: New Vegas Alan Wake (if it comes to PC) Red Dead Redemption (if it comes to PC) Rage Deus Ex 3 (please be good!) Just Cause 2 (have it on pre-order) Mafia 2 Eschalon: Book 2 Hunted: Demon's Forge Arcania: A Gothic Tale (Gothic 4) And guess which dark horse has sailed up as an unexpected hope? Two Worlds 2! Imagine that. On my distant radar: Max Payne 3 Precursors (if it's ever released in English) Dead Rising 2 Crysis 2 Dead Island (might be a Dead Project..) Feels like I've forgotten a bunch of stuff.
