Really. Feel free to point me in the direction of where I can find these fabled 3GB memory sticks. I want one. --- Missed your post, Spider: "Can't there be 6 dimmslots on the mb? So 3x2 + 3x1." Yes. In fact, I think all slot 1366 motherboards come with 6 memory slots, so that is probably what they're doing. That would also keep the tri-channel running.

I have no idea what these guys are on about. Tri-channel comes in 1GB, 2GB or 4GB memory stick configurations. This means you'll have to choose between 3GB (3x1GB), 6GB (3x2GB) or 12GB (3x4GB). For tri-channel, it would be stupid to go for 8GB, but it's still the configuration I would choose out of the ones available to you. I would get that and actually remove one memory stick (taking it down from 4x2GB to 3x2GB memory sticks), just to be able to take advantage of the i7 tri-channel memory controller. For your information, I don't think there are 3GB memory sticks, which would be needed to make that weird 9GB tri-channel configuration you guys are on about.

Who gives a **** how it looks? Are you thinking that the interface is the only thing separating Win 7 from XP? I switched to Win 7 to get access to DirectX 11 (and by default 10, 10.1). Also, Microsoft touted how the OS had become more modular so that even if something went wrong with the graphics, file managers, system drivers etc, you wouldn't need to restart the computer. Since most of the functions of the OS has been moved away from the kernel, not even updating the OS would need you to restart it. It's all bull**** though. Everytime there's an update for Win 7, you need to restart the computer. No difference there, in fact, I suspect it's become worse. And as soon as something goes wrong, the computer crashes back to BIOS. Violently. Also, Win 7 actually seems worse off than XP after a huge crash. It forgets preferences, it forgets date and time (!), and I'm not 100% sure about this yet, but it seems it can even mess with certain settings in BIOS! There are also several major Vista bugs still left in Win 7, and I seem to run into every one of them. It sucks. For example: Vista: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...-windows-vista/ Win 7: http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/windo...bootmgr-missing This above example was a seriously annoying bug that appeared after one particularly naughty crash. It rendered the computer totally unusable! I had to bring in a secondary computer to fix the problem! Unbelievably bad. Vista/XP: http://www.troublefixers.com/how-to-fix-sy...layed-properly/ My system tray icons disappeared. I fixed it the same way as the Vista fix linked above.. on my Win 7 rig. Lovely. This occurred regularly for a while and it was incredibly annoying having to restart explorer.exe manually all the time. Then it disappeared suddenly and I haven't had the problem since (about three months ago perhaps?). Another Vista problem that is well known is the bug where it drops all USB drivers after waking up from Sleep mode. I naturally had the exact same thing happen to me with my Win 7 OS. I couldn't find any directly related links, but it's easy enough to find a few hundred thousand forum posts on the internet about the problem. It was also hugely annoying. I could use my USB keyboard/USB mouse to wake the system (via the BIOS), but as soon as Win 7 took control, all the USB peripherals stopped working. I don't even remember how that was solved.

Exactly the same for me. I even bought the Collector's Edition of Bioshock, based on the 10/10 Eurogamer review! There's just no way I'm buying Bioshock 2 after that disappointment.

I went to a small party about a week ago.. It's actually not an organized sort of thing. People just gather in this park for no apparent reason at all. I love it.

The only thing I'm wondering about is why the choice to make this a red shield? Why not make it so you see little "fireworks" on your enemies armour and that whistling sound for ricochets instead? I mean, if we have a damage threshold (which I think is a great idea), it must mean that the armour is strong enough to repel certain low energy bullets, right? Why not show THAT instead of a red shield? Or does the designers think it's not obvious enough for the player to see his bullets bounce off the enemy and that a red shield is a better indicator?

The problem with all western based games for me is the weapons. To be able to match what you're used to from every other FPS already out there, they have to have an inventor who's come up with this totally absurd weapon prototype (for the setting anyhow). Either that or you'll walk around and feel handicapped with your six shot revolvers and Remington rifles.

San Jose vs. Detroit: If the Wings can play like they did in game seven against the Coyotes.. Wings in 7. Chicago vs. Vancouver: My hope is with the twins. Vancouver in 6! Montreal vs. Pittsburgh: I think Montreal burnt all they got on the Caps. Pens in 5. Flyers vs. Boston: The Flyers played so well against the Devils, and I didn't see a single Boston game, so.. Flyers in 6.

Wow. I'm beginning to get a slight feeling that Ovechkin may not be a big games guy.. I'm not blaming the loss on him (Semin, Green, B

For me, the problem with GTA4's driving physics isn't that it's difficult (it's really not). It just isn't fun anymore. And I hate that people refer to them as more realistic now. They're not! They're still ****ed up, only in another way. Like, how every car now behaves as if you're driving it on ice.. or as if you had thrusters underneath your car that made it lose grip constantly. Try driving 30km/h and apply the brakes. Your car will slide for like 50 meters! On asphalt! Or how the cars in the game are actually physically incapable of having a less than 100 meter turning radius.. Disturbs me to no end. Every driving physics can be handled by getting used to it. But some driving physics feel natural, responsive and fun from the start. Some don't. For me, GTA4 fell into the don't faction.

Yeah.. I'm guessing they're trying to make the game a bit more mainstream by having a tutorial that does NOT kick your butt from here to eternity. Oh, and the quest markers will certainly help bring in more people too. In all the Gothic games, you had to talk to everyone! That didn't sit well with some players (who wants to know exactly who to talk to at all times) so I guess they're changing it to be a bit more mainstream there too. It's just details, if the game is good it won't matter one bit. And I'm pretty sure you can turn off the mini map, quest markers and skip the tutorial.. if only to appease the older fans of the series.

He means ****. Edit: He means cοckrοach. Withοut the rοach.

Yeah. The problem is that he's up against two elite centers in Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Anyhow, it will be interesting to see which team shows up tonight for Washington: the team that was humiliated by the Pens in last years game seven against Pittsburgh or the team that snuck by the Rangers in their game seven last year.

I'm not sure, but I know the discussion has been up on Piranha Bytes official boards before. They're also making their games with two differently coloured versions. Deep Shadows was also supposed to do the same to their games (White Gold/Precursors), but they seem to have gone out of business. There has to have been some research to support this since three different developers (all from Europe/Eastern countries) all support the same idea.

I think you must have been unlucky because I've had several Sapphire's and they've all been good quality. In fact, I think it's the brand that best balances prize/quality for ATI. They're also pretty generous with peripherals and games and stuff. Oh, and they come with three year warranty, which is most often longer than you'll ever want to keep your card anyhow. Check out this one for example (since you mentioned 5970): http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/sa...e_toxic_hd5970/ (fastest card they've ever tested right out of the box)

I'm almost starting to feel sorry for Bryzgalov. They're absolutely peppering him with shots! He's been tremendous, yet has had to surrender three goals.
-
It's a great game. I recommend watching it! Unless you wanna be like that guy who frequents this thread and makes arguments why Bryzgalov isn't better than his backup goalie because he read a stats list.. WATCH THE ****ING GAME INSTEAD.

The only thing that differs between these cards are usually the quality of the little components that make up the card. Things like resistors and RAM modules etc. Powercolor (the brand I got stuck with), for example, is/was known for using a cheaper brand of RAM, making them a very bad choice for overclockers. But if they're all using the reference design, all you have to worry about is price, extra peripherals and warranty.

I can attest to Oblivion being very difficult to review. I had the honour of doing it for our magazine back then. When you first start the game and you learn about the actual working sneak mechanics, the character progression, the physics enabled combat (with neat traps and stuff), you're only a few minutes into the game, but it looks splendid. Then you're let out of the starting dungeon and you're basically overwhelmed by the beauty of the world, the size of the world and the freedom you're given. I think I played around with the game for 30 hours (!) before I began pinpointing the major flaws. All in all I spent over 100 hours in Oblivion, with and without mods. I spent around 60 hours in Risen, a game that I loved.

I've dual-booted, but I did it the easy way (as described in your own post). I had an XP partition and installed Vista (same **** as Win 7) on another harddrive. By doing it in that order, it was all fully automatic. All I had to do was edit the boot file afterwards to set which OS I wanted to have as preference and how many seconds I wanted to wait before the computer went to default. I had it for probably 6 months before I realized I had only started up Vista approximately 3-4 times since then, and only to see if there were any new critical updates for it.

I think it looks pretty good. It reminds me more of Two Worlds than Gothic though. One funny thing they mentioned in the video: the cartoon-like, colourful version of the game is aimed for the North American markets and the toned-down, more realistic version is aimed for the European market. I like that!

Half of the series completed! Vancouver is on to the second round! My predictions so far: 3-1. Damn you, Philly. I really thought you had no goalie to match Brodeur and no goalscorer to match Kovalchuk.

The newest versions of all ATI video cards come with a function called Eyefinity. You spend slightly more on your video card and it comes with support for up to 6 screens simultaneously. It's pretty neat, actually, since Eyefinity scales most games seamlessly over those 6 monitors, making it possible to game with extreme resolutions and fields of view.

Yes. In fact, Sweden is so clean, all you have to do is go out and fall down. When you get up again, you're actually cleaner! True story.

How do you play more than one game at once? Do you have four hands?
