This was pretty cool: http://www.engadget.com/tag/8+bit+weapon/ I just happen to frequent Engadget too.

I would skip the i3 CPU and the Geforce GTS 250 as options as those are not really suited for gaming. Otherwise it looks solid. You can't really go wrong with any of the other choices so it's up to you to choose the ones you prefer.. Like for example the RAM; go for the brand that you trust. Also, I own the big brother to the ASUS monitor you linked. I'm not entirely happy with mine (bleed-in around all the edges) so I would advice you to go for a Benq instead.. only they don't seem to be selling the Benq brand on Newegg. Odd. The Acer ones were just too ugly (except the expensive one which was just plain)!

Hmm, I'm not sure, but I'd estimate 30 hours or so. I wasn't in any hurry though as I just love to roam the zone just to see the battles going on around me and the stuff that just happens.

I finished Stalker: Call of Pripyat last night. The end was a mixed bag. The actual GAME end (the one where you participate) was a let-down. I had a too good armour, a too good sniper rifle, and a too good assault rifle for it to even begin giving me problems. Also, I got some kind of achievement that kept awarding me free ammo. I checked my storage just before the endgame and it turned out I had 1800 rounds of armour piercing bullets for my assault rifle just lying there waiting for me! Needless to say, I ripped through any and all resistance the game threw at me from then on. But the MOVIE ending was cool! I'm actually thinking of replaying it at once just to see another permutation of the end. It heavily resembles the Fallout endings, as it too consisted of short movies strung together depending on what you'd done in the game beforehand. It basically covered every major character you'd run into and every location and their fate after you'd passed through. Very cool! I'm also pretty sure I didn't get the "good" ending (or at least the best ending) since I usually always let my squad mates act as bullet sponges while I, myself, lie in wait with my sniper rifle in the background. Noone survived :D Still, a very, very good game. Right now I'd rank it up there with the first Stalker, but I may even have to rank it slightly higher. Well worth the asking price of 23

Well, if it's any comfort, I've probably played over 20 hours so far and I have yet to encounter any serious bugs. In fact, the only bug I can think of was one where I was supposed to guard someone and the game kept killing that person before the game even let me pull out my gun (when the game loads a new location, you always start with your gun holstered). Also, this person was supposed to be guarded by a bunch of other guards but me, but they didn't spawn immediately.. five minutes into the battle, they suddenly appeared. It was very spooky. I got past that bit by acting as a human meat shield since I could move much faster than I could pull out my gun..

The Nokia N900 is running Maemo. So far it looks awesome and they've just ported Firefox to it. I wouldn't worry about what Microsoft does on mobile phones. There are better alternatives out there. -

You're still free to post a picture of your massive game collection. -
Woo! SOMETHING good came out of paying slightly more from Play.com!

I've started playing STALKER: Call of Du.. uh Pripyat. So far it's fantastic! The graphics are worse than I remembered it (even with DirectX 11, everything on max and 1920x1080), but the atmosphere! The weapons! The surroundings! The other stalkers! There's something about these STALKER games that makes me love them unconditionally. It's also a bit more difficult than I remember them.. even though I've read that this is supposed to be easier than the previous STALKER:s. Well, I am getting shot to pieces, my weapons keep falling apart in my hands, I keep running out of healing thingies, money and ammo and for some reason I'm always radiated like a.. radiated dog. And yet I love it! So. Weird.

Now THAT's how you lose a hockeygame: lead 3 to 1 with three minutes left and when the game is over you're down 4 to 3! Classic Leaf meltdown.

Oh, I'm so happy that Kovalchuk debuts against my lowly Leafs tonight. Lucky

Another gem from the bottom of the well of wisdom that is the Bethesda boards: Who wouldn't love that place? -

The teaser is getting good 'reviews' from the people over at Gametrailers: http://www.gametrailers.com/game/fallout-new-vegas/11183 9.3/10 average of over 2000 votes so far! That's pretty sweet. I like it too. -
I actually think it's a great little machine. I was reading about it over at Engadget and found a small video of it running Left 4 Dead: http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/29/alienwa...through-left-4/ It's the size of a netbook, but can run games. Perfect! If only it wasn't so butt ugly..

It's so funny how you always step in to protect the moderators. Noone else, just the moderators. But it's true, he doesn't need to kiss up to anyone. He's got you for that.

Oh. My. God. This is an actual user from the Bethesda board: Yes, I can see now why they prefer the Bethesda board over this one. -

I was thinking the exact same thing. I've seen Obsidian developer names that has never set foot in these forums even once. They're not even registered here! It's all very odd. Maybe the Obsidian developers enjoy the rather more.. hmm, 'teen' atmosphere over there than our little place of whiny bastards and repressed hatred? -

I'm about to become that too. That place really irks me. Then I'll be banned from here for showing why I was banned from there. -

Fantastic teaser! I don't know if the teaser really IS fantastic or if it's because I'm already overly excited about this title, but IT'S FANTASTIC TO ME! -
The problem isn't that we don't have anything to replace it with, it's that it's not economically feasible to do it. If it was, we'd done it already. And 2% sounds little as a percentage.. but apply that to the world's total oil consumption and you'll find that it's NOT little at all. It's a couple of billion tons of plastic! PER YEAR. All that will have to be replaced by something else. The problem is not trivial.
