  1. I finished Borderlands now. I burnt through the last parts of the game, after I found a weapon that shot 16 bullets per second.. before my shooting rate increasing skills! I have no idea how fast it became eventually, but it was so fast that the sound couldn't keep up so it just goes silent when you hold the trigger! All I had to do for the rest of the game (after I found the pistol) was to run up to every enemy in sight, put the crosshair in their face and hold down the trigger for two-three seconds. NOTHING survived that! Of course, ammunition became a bit of a problem, but I solved that by using my sniper rifle in between ammo stations. I don't get why people were so upset about the ending. I thought it was cool. Oh, and is there any reason to go through the game again? As I finished it, I started it up again and noticed that I could play the game again, but in something called Playthrough 2 (or something similar). Apparently I get to keep my character, but I restart all quests from the beginning. I played through the first five or so missions and the game has scaled up every enemy to approximately my level, but all I noticed about it was that everything takes even more bullets to kill now. My weapons that were so deadly at the end of Playthrough 1 now feel like peashooters again. I don't really see the point? I may keep playing a while longer just to get those annoying "missions", but some of them feel hopeless. Like the one about chests: I've opened every chest I've found and I've been pretty thorough, but the game has me at 170. You need to open 500 to complete that mission.. Geez. At least my superfast shooting pistol has gotten me up to 80,000 bullets fired! (You need 100,000 to complete that mission).
  2. You're making him sound like some kind of retard! Anyhow, me and my cousin had a lot of fun with Mercenaries 2 in co-op. I'd suggest you giving that a try, especially now that it must be very cheap. Only one major flaw with that game (not counting the billions of little flaws..): you have to be within half a kilometre from each other at all times. It can be annoying when you're in a helicopter and he's not.
  3. Gee, then everything must be OK! Cuba are free to trade with Micronesia.. one of the 194 other countries affected by the Helms-Burton act. The UN must be crazy since 183 out of those nations who are free to trade with Cuba voted to end the embargo! Give me a break. "International Sanctions against the Cuban Government. Economic embargo, any non-US company that deals economically with Cuba can be subjected to legal action and that company's leadership can be barred from entry into the United States. Sanctions may be applied to non-U.S. companies trading with Cuba. This means that internationally operating companies have to choose between Cuba and the US, which is a much larger market." Like I said, it would be fun to see where Cuba would go once the embargo was lifted.
  4. It would be fun to see just how well Cuba would be doing for themselves if the (incredibly unfair) embargo was finally lifted. I'm thinking the US government are actually afraid to lift it because it might show Americans that a Communist nation CAN survive and thrive, despite everything American's seem to be taught in school.
  5. It's not a program you need, it's a setting in your computer's audio hardware. It's called something like Channel Mixing (audio mix?) or something similar. I had the same problem while playing Mercenaries 2. I wanted to play music and talk with my co-op partner at the same time, and this setting solved the problem for me. I had a Realtek audio thingie at the time (which is where I got the names from). I can't find a similar setting in my own current audio application settings though. Hmm.
  6. I am comparing great accomplishments made by men to those made by women, and you're upset because people were living in those places before the explorers came? Gee, I'm sorry, but even though the indigenous people were there first, history still considers these explorers as great men and their deeds as great accomplishments.
  7. If I had been asking about which race was first on each continent, your "argument" would have been worth noting. But since they have nothing to do with the differences between men and women, I'm not sure what kind of answer you seek from this? Also, Amelia Earhart is a good example! She was the first woman to fly over the Atlantic ocean, this is what made her famous. But the same voyage had already been undertaken by Charles Lindbergh a decade earlier! So why would you be famous for doing something someone else had already done before? Unless you were at some sort of disadvantage from the beginning that would make your journey more difficult than the ones previously undertaken, of course. What was her disadvantage? She was female.
  8. You know what's also inane? Someone uploading a 1MB large 799x600 pic. Not only does Portable Network Graphics (png) support compression (which you apparently missed), .jpg is a much more efficient format for crappy internet pictures.
  9. Oh. I got stuck in the swamps (and some autopsy) and quit playing. It really was tedious as hell.
  10. I don't like these suggestions I am getting. One is physical strength. Basically you're saying men were stronger at the beginning and that's all there is to it. Men got the upper hand at the beginning of time and since then women has had to fight an uphill battle. It's too simplistic. If physical strength was the major factor, we'd all be ruled by monkeys by now. Another says opportunity. Also too simplistic. Sure, opportunity is like Columbus being the first to discover America; it held importance for a few hundred years. But opportunity all throughout our known history? I doubt it. Just ask yourselves: how did women end up in the situation where they were barely allowed to tie their own shoes? How could women let themselves end up in that situation? Why didn't men end up in that situation instead of women? Coincidence? And how about modern times? Women have every opportunity to make something of themselves in today's society (in most western countries, at least). Much more so than men in some cases (women on average get better grades in school than men)! Yet, the majority of our scientific breakthroughs are made by men. Why?
  11. So you're saying that if you were free to talk all you wanted about your job, you'd be quiet? I call BS. Everyone loves to talk about their jobs.
  12. I think you're still missing the point somewhat. Ok, sure, men were forcefully keeping women out of their intellectual circles for a thousand years. But wouldn't that mean that men must have started these intellectual circles? To keep someone out of a circle, you have to "own" the circle. If the circle of intellect was started by women, it would have had to be replaced by men and thus the intellect would have been lost. Do you see my point? Why weren't women starting intellectual circles instead of men? I think your arguments are weak. Slaves and masters are exactly the same (men and women) and the only difference between them were cultural. Yes, the guy with power can control the ones without. It has no relevance to the discussion whatsoever. What I am wondering is if the biological differences between men and women are making men superior to women. Perhaps. East Asians were very advanced thousands of years ago, the south American indians were very advanced, the Arabic nations were highly developed.. but Africa? Nothing much has come from that continent. But it's a whole other (equally uncomfortable) discussion. And you didn't answer my question as to why you consider females to be smarter than males. You do realize it's exactly the same as what I am proposing, except the other way around (biological differences making one gender smarter than the other)?
  13. Ehh.. It never occurred to you that this is still a male-oriented and male-dominated world? and perhaps women would easily equal or even surpass us, in a lot of fields, if they were given a fair chance? I think it's stupid to say that men are superior to women, when women still don't have an equal opportunity prove themselves.. It's like shooting your competitor in the leg and then claim your obvious superiority when you outrun him.. Edit: I'm not disputing physical advantages though, men are designed to be stronger and faster than women - but I don't see any evidence on us being smarter.. quite the contrary actually.. No, it never occurred to me.. Sigh. I bolded a part for you from my previous post. And still, no matter WHAT the causes are, women ARE inferior to men in all measurable accounts. This is just fact, no matter what. We may not like it, but it's there. Also, isn't there some kind of conclusion to be drawn from the mere fact that we live in a male-oriented world? Why is it male-dominated? In nature, the stronger species always dominates the weaker ones. That's nature. Why are men dominating women, in almost all cultures all over the world? Some sort of evil hive mind that only men can sense? A diabolical masterplan that have all men across all borders unite to suppress women? I would love to see an explanation to this. And feel free to explain how you don't see men as any smarter. I'm not sure how to measure such a thing except for chess (perhaps, very weak link to intelligence) and scientific progress (where men are the driving force behind almost all scientific discovery for the last thousand years). You actually think it's the contrary? Based on what? Remember, I am NOT of the opinion that men are inherently smarter than women just because we're men. I just think it's an interesting discussion and it baffles me that noone is allowed to even discuss the subject without being personally attacked, by both men and women.
  14. Ok, I still haven't decided on a cooler, but I am eyeing the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme. I used to have the Tuniq Tower 120 for my Core 2 Quad system and it's the best cooler I've ever owned. This new and improved 120 Extreme is made for i7 systems and has been reviewing very well, even better than the Nehalem. It's also a bit costly and it was a bitch to install (I had to use a saw to make it fit on my Abit motherboard!). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835154008 It looks cool and comes included with a high quality fan though. I would have to import it since it isn't being sold in Sweden.
  15. I liked that one. I hope it's somewhat about that the trailer suggests; galactic species coming together to fight for a common goal and NOT the lone human hero saving all other helpless species that can't do **** on their own.
  16. Perhaps women are not inferior to men. But think about this: what do women do better or equal than men? There has never been a female chess world champion (only one woman in the top 100 right now, at rank 46). Most inventors and scientists are men. Men run faster (at all distances), jump higher, jump longer, swim faster (at all distances and disciplines), throw longer (at all disciplines) and so on. Men found America, climbed the Himalayas, explored Africa, built and flew the first airplane, took the first step on the moon, sent the first telegraph across the pond, took the first photo, built the first car and so on. ... Exactly why are we forced to think the sexes are equal and men are not better when all the evidence points to the contrary? And it's extremely politically incorrect to point this out (I feel bad just from typing this!) and there are lots and lots of explanations to be found why things are the way they are. But it doesn't change the fact: I'm struggling to find something where women are equal or better than men. In the real world, where we live and exist, men ARE superior to women, according to the measurable accomplishments we have at hand. Except aiming sports (skeet, archery). Females seem to have great aim. Ps. I love women.
  17. The problem is that these "passionate" people on this board confuse love for one thing with hate for another. Just like nazi's claiming they do what they do for love of their country, they actually do it because of their hate towards others. Do you really have to hate Fallout 3 to prove how much you like the former games? It's pointless, meaningless and useless. Sure, you may not have liked Fallout 3, but continuing to harp on about it over and over and over and claim it's because of your love of Fallout.. no. Wasteland is probably my favourite game ever. I would love to see someone upgrade it with 3D graphics and today's technology, even if the writing and story wasn't as good as the first game. The last thing I would do would be to sour down every board on the internet, proclaiming how bad everything made 10-15 years after an antiquated game I love is. I just don't get it. It only serves to annoy people who actually like Fallout 3. Nothing else. Even though the worst morons suggest saying stuff like "Fallout 3 is like AIDS hurr hurr durr" is "constructive criticism" so the developers won't make the same mistake again. Right. That should teach them! Or to use that idiotic pizza analogy I read a while back: "Hey, chef, I ate a pizza here ten years ago, and the crust was 0.2 mm thicker last time! And the tomatoes were two degrees hotter! This is an outrage! I've never made a pizza in my life but I know what a true pizza should be like! I've read some discarded design documents and analysed it obsessively in my basement for ten years! This is pizza in name only!!". I love that Obsidian is making Fallout: New Vegas, it's a dream coming true. The sad part of it all is how many morons this news has attracted to these boards.
  18. You really need to get out from under the boot of your publishers. You're not allowed to talk, you're not allowed to patch, you're not allowed to sell, you're not allowed to choose where to sell. It's a ****ed up system. Why should publishers have so much power?
  19. No. Gothic was all about you trying to escape your prison island. Awesome story too.

  23. Went to the gym for the first time this year today. I'm absolutely knackered. Now when I got home, I had gotten a party invitation from the most attractive female on the planet on my MSN. The mere thought of a party at her place is fap material for the rest of the week. Yay!
  24. Yes, I live in Sweden. I am quite aware of our VAT's. But that's not the case here. Before 2009 Europe and USA had the same prices, appr. $40 per game. But then, at the end of 2008, Steam changed. They simply translated those $40 into
  25. That's not true. Steam has different pricing policies for different regions and Sweden (and the rest of Scandinavia) is in the most expensive echelon, thus the straight conversion from dollar to Euro. VAT has nothing to do with it.
