  1. Not only is it a binary choice, you can set the computer to do it for you if you're too lazy to do it yourself. I had XP as my default choice and 3 seconds as the time before it automatically went with the default. Fail, Tigranes!
  2. Hey, here's a ****ing hint: how about YOU move along everytime you feel like entering a thread about something which you clearly detest and NOT post your whiny ****? I just can't understand how some people just cannot fathom that IT IS NOT INTERESTING reading about how much you dislike everything. Trust me, he did not have to search for long to find whiny post from you. About Avatar: I was convinced it would be a giant turd when I saw the trailers, but even the pretentious newspapers in Sweden has given it good reviews. It's so odd that I'm really tempted to go and see it. Just that.. I usually just get a headache from 3D movies. It's like my puny brain can't find anything to focus on, but that doesn't stop it from trying.. for 2.5 hours. I'll probably go see it in 2010.
  3. Hey, no offense meant mkreku, but I'm more and more getting the feeling that you're just trolling these days. It's like every post of yours I see is designed to get a rise out of people or cause a flamewar. None taken. Perhaps you're right, I don't have a master plan when I post, I just type out what's on my mind. Anyhow, I may be heartless, but.. I assume Kelverin is an adult. As an adult he had two choices: smoke and risk cancer or not smoke and not risk cancer. He chose the former and now he has cancer. He knew what he was getting into, now he is paying for it. I just hope the (presumably) years of nicotine highs was worth the living hell he is about to endure.
  4. Bethesda also recently lost the Interplay case: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/beth...ay-court-battle So Interplay lives on to fake develop a Fallout MMO, Bethesda and id are making a love child and all is well with the world.
  5. Would you also feel sorry for someone who shot themselves while playing Russian roulette?
  6. My Vista install booted really fast but was practically unusable for five minutes after booting. Is Win 7 the same?
  7. I once tried to grow a beard. I failed.
  8. Yeah, I was going to suggest dual booting XP and Win 7, but then I remembered the dual booting XP/Vista fiasco I had a few months back. I added Vista to see if it had become stable/optimized enough and was planning on eventually switching to it when I had phased out all my XP needs. It turned out that using Vista felt like being able to do 90% of what I could do in XP, only significantly slower, all the while being bugged by UAC. In the end I kind of forgot about Vista, just stopped using it and eventually uninstalled it. It was only good for the occasional game (STALKER) using DirectX 10. I got a version of Windows 7 burned out and ready to go (got it free from my university, same as with Vista and XP) but nothing tells me I need to switch yet. Why 'upgrade' for less performance and no gains? I just don't get it.
  9. This is actually the only game I want a PS3 for. Well, maybe except for Demon's Souls.
  10. But apparently it's not coming out on PC. Boo.
  11. Are you sure you mean id Tech 4? The Doom 3 engine? Because Carmack is, as far as I know, working on id Tech 5 right now. Seeing as that has the "megatexture" feature, it would seem a better fit than the all-indoors id Tech 4..
  12. I'm wondering Mkreku, if you were running the game with mods installed? And if you are, have you tried troubleshooting them? Well, I was using a few different mods, but when I bought the DLC I un-clicked them all in the launcher. I didn't know if they would be compatible. Hmm, maybe I should do a clean install? Or could the mods be affecting the game even when they're not being used (except for one small interface mod, think it was called BetterUI)?

Ok, so we won again. We now stand at the same points as the Ranger, the Flyers and.. the Islanders! So yeah, we suck. But we're not sucking alone!
  14. My Fallout 3 crashed sometimes (completely locking up the computer), but it was OK. Then I bought some DLC for it and now it's unplayable. Almost everytime I enter a building, I can expect a crash. I still have Fallout 3 installed, but I haven't started it up in probably six months. It's that annoying.

Woo, we won! One of the worst teams in the NHL wins against the best team in the NHL, one night after getting beat by a midrange team (Bruins). I'm so glad I never bet on NHL games..

Watching the Caps - Leafs game. It's actually pretty good! The Leafs are playing much better than expected and are keeping up with the tempo set by the Caps. That Kessel kid is really skilled.
  17. I've played Divine Divinity. It starts out as a Diablo clone and for the first few hours (basically the length of the demo that was released) I hated it. But then all of a sudden (as soon as they let you out of the starting village) it turns into something slightly similar to Ultima 7 lite. Lots of quests, LOTS of combat (it is an action RPG after all) and lots of exploring. Oh and it has a great character development system. I really liked it, but as always: opinions differ.
  18. Why 8GB of relatively slow DDR2? Wouldn't it have been wiser to buy 4 GB of fast DDR2?
  19. Our snow is gone. It's been raining/foggy for the last.. oh 50 days or so. THIS USED TO BE SNOW, DAMNIT!
  20. So why not just buy the latest Radeon 5870 and an Core i7 and be done with it?
  21. If I ever make a game, I'm going to make sure to have floor fog like this. Everywhere. Outside, inside, you name it.
  22. Actually, an Easter egg zombie locked away in some closet in the Russian embassy (or something) would be awesome. DO EET
  23. Help help, the irony is stabbing me in the face with a knife!!
  24. I love how people who don't believe in the climate changing because of man are hanging onto this small group of scientists who appear to have falsified their data. Nevermind the other tens of thousands of scientists who do not need to falsify anything. Since there are some rotten eggs in the basket, they must all be rotten, thus my own, home-made theory must be true (Hell, my thermometer shows it's colder today than last night! Global warming, pfft).
  25. Just by looking at the rate by which we're increasing, I'd say for sure that the times have never been better. Hope our future generations have fun finding out just how many people this planet can sustain at the same time.
