  1. Does a crippled limb affect accuracy? I took out the goons in Primm with two crippled limbs, annoying as hell that was. NCR cannot into military operations, where's the medic, guys? Seriously.
  2. Strawman of the week.
  3. I'll nominate Dreamfall & Book of Unwritten Tales.
  4. I can no longer load my Quicksave... I just get an infinite load screen when I try to. I'll have to refer to my last manual save, which was 3 hours back at the Yangtze memorial.
  5. My character can queue 7 shots in VATS with the 9mm pistol and even managed to kill a lone giant radscorpion this way (don't they come in pairs always in FO3?). I thought about attempting to clear the Powder gang camp, but eventually decided to wait 'til I have a companion and some more resources. It already happened quite a few times that my character's limbs were crippled by invisible explosives around Powder gang camps.
  6. I doubt I could post anything that would appease your personal definition of "landmark".
  7. Can someone explain damage mechanics? The manual doesn't explain it very well. As I understand it, each weapon has a DAM & DPS, so if the weapon's DAM is higher than an enemy's DT, the enemy receives the full effect of DPS reduced by damage resistance? The thing is, I've had it happened that the red shield icon appeared, but still the enemy died quickly nonetheless.
  8. I explored most of the area around Goodsprings all the way up-to Primm, but ran into invisible barriers around some radio station preventing me from crossing a mountain range in order to reach another empty triangle.
  9. Adventure game genre is only genre where present games are generally better than the old guard, courtesy of the genre disappearing from the mainstream around 1995 (with a few legendary games like The longest journey and Syberia that managed to even reach the mainstream) and a few publishers supporting teams to do their thing without focus on profit.
  10. Maybe it's just me, but so far voice acting & dialogue isn't better than in FO3. I even noticed Redguard male is back (but then this person is a decent voice actor), Argonian male is probably back too? I'm also considering turning off hardcore mode since it tends to turn my game into a cover-based shooter. Stimpaks seem pretty rare anyway, so the extra baggage is imo not needed. Also, geckos are more annoying than mirelurks could ever be. I also have the impression they use the same running animation?
  11. I've experienced the bug where I killed a coyote with a police baton, which send the beast flying off across the screen. Also, several bark scorpions stuck in the ground, making for easy pickings. The mountains in the distance also have a penchant for flickering, which is maybe due to my Nvidia card. What is very positive though, is that there isnt' any frame-skipping so far. I don't think the atmosphere is better than FO3; if anything, FO3 felt more threatening because it offered complete freedom once you got out of the Vault. NV seems to be more story-driven where a tutorial NPC immediately takes you by the hand and warns you even not to stray too far from the roads.
  12. I met some guy that lectured me about a Super Sapparilla treasure.
  13. Pumping Explosives seems a must to deal with those 10,000 deathclaws in the quarry (went to take a look with my level 3, I was out of there fast). No nuka-grenades (?), but at least bottlecap mines are still in the game.
  14. I reloaded and everything is fine, except that now I am *vilified* with the Powder Gang. Also for some reason now several giant radscorpions appeared near the place where I manually saved (Yangtze Memorial), blocking my safe way back to Doc to heal my crippled limbs.
  15. I approached the town in Powder Gang outfit but I was "hidden" all the time. Then I switched outfit when I noticed they weren't powder gang and they turned hostile.
  16. So I gallivanted around a bit and came upon a place named "Sloan" and was attacked by some guy with a sledgehammer. I killed him and the entire town was hostile as well... killed them too and now I have "NCR Infamy" (not really what I planned). Is this supposed to happen?
  17. Yeh but I don't want to be forced to max out skills I never use anyway, like in FO3.
  18. What about the same-sex perk?
  19. I get 11 skill points at level-up. Hardly a big deal.
  20. My Antoinette cannot even in easy computers & locks. That said, though, I thought she would be speaking in Ogre from the very beginning, but I fear I have been badly misled.
  21. Hard Well, it's a problem only if you want to max out everything. But I already found two skillbooks.
  22. But I thought she would be badass... she said it would only take a few minutes, and then died in five seconds. The Wasteland's an unforgiving place, son.
  23. Can someone explain the importance of Karma? I find nothing about it in the manual and can't seem to find a karma-meter on my PipBOY. If I steal everything in a town, will my reputation go down or something?
  24. Hahaha, oh wow. Sunny Smiles = worst Tutorial NPC of all time (or is this mayhap part of my LCK 10?) And to think I was planning on killing this lady myself for her leather armour.
  25. The FO3 facial presets were better, at least for females (males look fugly no matter how many hours one fiddles with sliders). I didn't find my favourite African American & Caucasian preset. Also, was HDR this terrible in FO3? The sky is on fire over the Mojave.
