  1. It's the Final Fantasy 7 of the West.
  2. As stated before, the video is from the embellished part of the storyline told by the fat dwarf, where all darkspawn practically die in one hit (or blow up when FemHawke sneezes at them). The player in the video didn't even pause the game, giving the impression of a straight-to-bargain-bin slasher. If the first gameplay video of DA:O would've been the battle in front of the Denerim gates, where legions of darkspawn die in one hit as well, reactions would've been the same. I'm curious to seeing an official gameplay video featuring a non-embellished part; two-handed sword animations better be not as slow as in DA:O. And on another note, Lair of the Shadowbroker reveals that Garrus suffers from some pretty major mommy issues. Nobody escapes Freud in a BioWare game.
  3. They should have put the blue Mutant on the cover. Saviour of the MMO, lolwut.
  4. They should add Drakan: Order of the Flame & Tomb Raider: the Last Revelation + Chronicles. My discs are scratched. Also, Rune & Heavy Metal FAKK 2. Those games are a ********* to run on Vista.
  5. in my case that's because it took me six months to finish the game it was so bad, I had to take a break from it midway through
  6. No delay in casting is a very large advantage to the mage, at any rate. In DA:O, the time it took to prepare a fireball usually meant the mooks already reached the party before you were ready. It's a very large advantage if you can immediately throw one at them... not to mention with the knock-down effect it should mean by the time the mooks are up again, you can launch another one.
  7. Won't magic even be more overpowered if the spells are cast as soon as you press the button? Doesn't matter if they tone down the damage, if you can just "spell trigger" fireballs, etc.
  8. I'm more interested whether the game will still be party-based or is the number of followers limited to one,
  9. I'm looking forward to what excuse BioWare will come up with next to go running around X planets and shoot up Reaper drones. I expect the Reapers to be defeated like the aliens in Independence Day, tbh. But it would be really nice if the decision surrounding the Collector base actually matters.
  10. But otoh, there's Oscuro's which basically saved the game for me. I didn't really care about the gameplay. Nothing could fix the butchered setting.
  11. What about Captain America's getting shot with a bullet in the brainpan sending him to another dimension? Or was that just back in time, too? I can never remember. Omega beams I can understand. They're like magic beams. But Cap got a bullet to the noggin. IIRC sniper used a gun made by Dr Doom that transported him through space & time... There's always a lame cop-out. Ms Marvel exploded when her energy overloaded, and she was returned by an entity called "the Storyteller".
  12. Why hello, there. Anyway, in before Fermi's paradox and Drake's equation.
  13. I bet Ed Greenwood is always Elminster in a D&D session. I wonder if he based the old wizard off himself... which would probably explain the stuff he wrote about Elminster's trysts with the Simbul & Storm Silverhand.
  14. Thor comes in May 6, 2011 and definitely has potential. I'm not sure about the title actor, though... a younger Kenneth Branagh would've been perfect for it. But screw Marvel, the movie to watch next year is Green Lantern.
  15. Cut it out with the Batman already.
  16. Also, Nightwing > Batman
  17. Not to mention in case of Oblivion, 90% of mods are trash if you're not into furry, anime and sexual deviancy.
  18. Well, the main character is a shepherd. I killed it, but if you lead it back where you start the game, it will stay with the other sheep.
  19. Even with no atmosphere or a thin atmosphere, the body would simply keep accelerating without reaching a terminal velocity, and eventually form a paste on the surface of the planet. Then again, the case could be made that Cerberus didn't really need the body to rebuilt, and just some intact DNA sufficed.
  20. Yeh, that's another thing I have gripes with. Unless the N7-armour had Space Shuttle heat-shielding, normally Shepard's body would've burnt completely to cinders in the atmosphere of the planet (s)he crash-landed on. There wouldn't even have been anything left to recover save maybe a few small balls of carbon.
  21. What post-processing setting are you talking about? Unchecking a lot of the options in that big 'Video' list, or something else? The post-processing option in advanced settings. Strangely enough, unchecking this option when using the European colour palette, makes it look almost exactly like the American colour palette.
  22. Iron Man was actually pretty cool, until Civil War happened. Biggest disappointment of that series was Captain America not finishing off the jerk, but bailing out and getting sniped later on.
  23. Well, I've played & finished the demo and liked it. No complaints about the voice acting, really, I've heard much worse. It sounded like the main hero was voiced by Alistair from DA:O. Melee combat is terrible, though, and seems to be trumped by ranged combat completed. I could easily defeat any melee enemies by simply backtracking and sniping them in the head. The magic seemed fun & useful. As long as not much of the Forsaken Gods nonsense is used in the game, it should be alright.
