What are you playing now?
I doubt it is really connected to that. It's just easier and faster to do this multiplayer maps with ai + story == new campaign!!11 Especially considering that this was introduced since Relic is adding more than only one playable faction to the games campaigns. Example: DoW: Winter Assault had a real campaign, which also was pretty cool, imo. But Winter Assault also only got two playable factions (Imperials and Chaos(?)). Then came the next addon, Dark Crusade, which added the Tau and Necrons + what was there already in the main game and to give every faction some missions to play, they "dumbed down" the campaign structure and used this totally generic multiplayer map mission system. Soulstorm did the same... more factions and because players want to play singleplayer campaigns with their loved faction, they generalized the campaign again. Looking at DoW2 now, it is exactly the same thing. Chaos Rising = one playable faction and a good campaign (so far). With Retribution, the campaign was once again extremely generalized, so you can play it with each of the many factions you can chose from. That's totally quantity instead of quality. So... yeah. I am very certain they are able to create good and fully fleshed out campaigns. But only for one faction at once, not 5, 6, 7... For so many playable factions, they have to generalize the missions and maps in a campaign.

What are you playing now?
Retribution is what I want to play next. I've actually started with it two days ago, but then I've realized that it seems to build up on Chaos Rising, so I thought it's better to finish that one first. But what I've played from Retribution so far was more a mediocre experience. They changed the gameplay once again, the missions feel like always the same again, etc. Got a bad feeling about this, sadly. Wasn't there talking about DoW3 going even more into this rts-rpg-thingy direction? Man, I just hope they will make it less repitative...

Playing some Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising in the moment. Pretty good, better than the main game. Deeper gameplay and less repitative. Also for the very first time I am using the whole squad cast every once in a while and not only the same 4 over and over again.

Witcher 2 Again
I thought that chapter 3 was long enough. The whole story got a "hurry! Hurry! They need yer help!" feeling for me at that point and I don't even wanted to waste more time with anything else.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced
If I am not horrible wrong now, something like this can happen with Khajit furries. I think it was something like "if you are born in the month x, you are humanoid looking furry, if you are born in the month y, you are a more animal looking furry and if you are born in the month z, you look like a real animal." Don't really remember the canon, though. It's many years ago since I've checked it out the last time.

Risen 2: Dark Waters
For me, the animations in dialogue look worse than in Risen. Or it's the whole scenery, I don't know. But now after seeing this for a few seconds, it looks really really weird and bleh to me. /Edit: Checked out some Risen gameplay videos on yt. Doesn't look *that* much worse, but I really don't remember it to look like this. Maybe it's just because I am watching a video and don't play it in full graphic quality on my monitor, I don't know... but it's really weird. The face animations are better / more detailed in Risen 2, but still looks very unnatural... even more than in the first Risen or the Gothic games.

I have my doubts about this being more effective than Steam as DRM.

Damn pc piracy is ruining the industry.

I bet the blonde will win. Of all four, she fits the cliche the most.

I never used shotguns, because the reticule is too big for far away targets. This is probably as well what the image above says.

Deus Ex 3
It only becomes a real problem if the game is censored. Because then you can't even buy the uncensored version from a different country. In case of DX3, it's at least uncut, but if some day all pc games will have it...

Josh said that there isn't much text on the slides, so a video or such would be much better.

Yes, sounds pretty nice. Will observe it a bit deeper and probably buy some cd if possible. But so far I can't find anything.

Random video game news.
Feels like a TF2 trailer to me. The Meet the... videos. Probably made by the same people. I personally have no interest in this dota stuff. Never cared before, will not care in future.

Most people who get nauseous while playing FPS are getting nauseous due to the games FoV. In this case, often it helps to adjust the FoV.

I just realized, that DX3 release is next week on friday. If I'll get my copy until then, that means I can have the whole weekend some fun, fun, fun with it.

Well, I am very certain we can find things to hate about DX3. Like, I dunno, Adams beard or such.

What are you playing now?
I hate you and everyone else who a year? later find out that Alpha Protocol is actually a great game. I wanted a damn sequel Dito. Makes me angry to read *now* everywhere that it's a cool game. Should have been done a year ago already.

Random video game news.
They should try to get around that with transforming all the other games into FPS as well.

What are you playing now?
When you get the first sniper rifle you've finished the game. Nope, didn't worked for me. First, because I have only one sniper in my team, never more and second, because the enemy every once in a while was able to overrun me with mass. This combined with the new aiming system makes it quite harder than before. You can't really do headshot, headshot, headshot,.. anymore. Additionally, they now - for the very first time - effectively used sniper rifles and grenade launchers as well, which in return - finally - made me use my own grenade launchers and mortars much more often than ever before (this is a good thing). So even though the difficult isn't astronomical higher, it at least brings me to the point where it is more efficient to use a broader variety of weapons. I mean, did anyone ever used grenades or grenade launchers before? It was just inefficient, you had been better off with headshot, headshot, headshot. Ah, while I am at it.. with the new aiming system, even Ira wasn't useless to me anymore in the beginning. She wasn't what I'd call "good," but she also wasn't the most bad thing in the game, simply because the other mercs in my team couldn't deal headshots anymore all the time.
