Lucid Dreaming
Got similar stuff every once in a while. I feel awake and realize my surroundings, but I can't move, can't scream, can't do anything. It's very unpleasant. After a while I can get myself to wake up and it's over, with my heart beating super fast. Sounds like a big thing, but it's not so much. After such uh... dream..., I feel pretty normal again (I don't have it often, it's actually very unusual anyway). What I remember is, that I once tried to talk / scream for help so that someone wakes me up, but it didn't worked. *This* is the worst bad thing, which is also the reason why I will never ever intoxicate / deafen me fully if I'll have to undergo some operation. My fear is just way too big that I would be awaken, but just can't move. :> (There have been cases like that already)

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
I can't look at the interface. Not sure if serious. And now please don't come with "graphic whore" and stuff. There is a difference between good graphic style and fugly shizzle that all looks the same crap and additionally is totally different than the original. If there wouldn't be "Shadow" or "DrQ" under these portraits, I would have never connected them. Same with most of the other AIM folks from the screenshot that is flying around in the internet.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Joerg langer (the speaker) said, that it's some alpha build that *still* uses the original JA2 voice files. The *still* makes it sound as if it will change later. In any case, character portraits are ugly as hell.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced
Yes, that's what I meaned. You have to click through dialogue to "level up" in the speech skill? Would be extremely stupid. Or maybe it's just pure random if you will win a speech check or not and based on how often you win, you level up, etc... In any case I find such a "level up speech by doing"-kind of system very bad.

But afair you don't spend skill points? Hope it's not "level up by doing" ...

As far as I could see, there are only dialog options and no other buttons anymore. Was that speech mini-game of any worth anyway? I never used it and I can't remember any situation where it would have been needed in some kind of way. For me it was just there for lulz and nothing more.

As a rule? I have my doubts.

Mass Effect 3
4 looks like Rhianna and 5 is the typical cliche, imo. That's why I think 6 looks best, though 1 is the one that looks like most like a soldier. In any case, I doubt they would look like this in the game. :>

FO: NV (DLCS) Discussion
Finished it now. In short: Was sceptical first, changed later, ending was great. It's true that OWB is very LOL!! but it is also pretty dark, imo. Stuff like the concentration camp or the suits with dead bodies inside, etc. aren't that easy stuff. Also I found it nice that even the way the story is made up (50s pulp Science!) is kind of explained in the end why it is how it is. I really like that DLC, needed around 8 to 9 hours to finish it and I haven't explored everything yet. (Still like Honest Hearts the most, though. Simply because of the more serious tone and the atmosphere of Zion. It just totally hit the nail for me.) Now I am really tensed to see Lonesome Road. The expectations are very high. Hope it can deliver.

Sorry, confused you with someone else. But doesn't matter-- the topic is done for me, because nobody will change his mind anyway and there is no reason to continue.

Ehw, why do I still post to that anyway. For you, Fallout is about lol and jokes and pop cultural references, for me it is not. Let's remain like that and be done.

A deja vu... Oh, no wait:

Probably other expectations then. At least it shows that both games are definitive different, even though they are sharing the same graphics. Just like Fo3 and NV are different games (to get back to the topic somewhat).

Sorry, I can try to explain it to you, but I can not understand it for you.

A town of big casinos and drugs without anything else, 30s mobsters and mafia families... True, that's 100% what Fallout is. C&C, lots of role playing, dark humor, multipath quests. Yep, nooothing at all. The wiki quote is about the setting, not about the C&C and Co. People would realize this, if they would read.

Well, you made it sound as if just because you didn't found it, nobody found it first as well.

When it comes to atmosphere, I like Honest Hearts the most. It simply hit the nail for me. Just sad that it wasn't very strong quest and dialogue-wise.

Had no time to play it yesterday. Will probably grab it up again in sunday evening or monday evening, depending on my free time. Last thing I remember has been that I hate the robo-scorpions, because I couldn't damage them.

No. This was the case in Fallout 1, not Fallout 2. And even the special encounters in Fallout 1 aren't as lolzy as the ones in Fallout 2.

What are you playing now?
I've read that you can kill it, but never managed it by myself. The very first time, I could only run away and pray not getting killed until the elevator came back. On the next playthrough I found out, that I can kill the thing with crushing, etc. It was cool, but running away in fear was much cooler. "I am so strong, nothing can stop me, not even a punny little werewolf, come, get some!" *Werewolve gives out one hit, PC lost half health, gives out another hit, PC dead*

If 4.5 out of 10 is "bad," what is < 4.5? :> /edit: But the new Call of Juarez didn't looked pretty good from the very beginning, imo. They should have sticked to the old wild west stuff. I mean, I can see why they wanted to go away from that and try something newer, but ... meh.

Wow, funny. So funny, I laugh out loud! Now I am rolling on the floor, laughing! (Did you really laughed after experiencing THAT in the game? I was more shocked than anything else.) Not for me then. The idea is clear, but I never had the urge to laugh hard about it. So, where is the funny in here? Yes, and then a canadian gets executed. Hilarious! Yes, Fallout has dark humor in appropriate amount, but not lol humor like Fallout 2 with thousands of silly references. Since Fallout 2, the Fallout games seem to be all about references now. "It's Fallout in name only, if there are no references to every movie and book in the world!"
