  1. Counter-point: In a Kojima plotline, out of place technology ranks pretty low on the nonsensical list. But nanomachines!
  2. MGS5 is set after Peace Walker. I don't like this super high tech stuff (holo codec / pda or what is that?), because from a timeline point of view this doesn't make any sense.
  3. The same mechanics are used over and over and over again in nearly every game in existence. I think the more likely scenario is that it's a regular game and you've just burnt out on it. Take a break? I finished it already yesterday. And I took a break of a few months (started it on release, approx 1 week later I stopped playing until two days ago). Sure gameplay mechanics repeat often in games, but it's the first game (at least what I remember right now), where I have to "find" so many ladders or use palettes to transport a person over water. At some point I just thought "damn, it's not even 10 meters, why they don't try to swim over, helping each other?!" Anyway, generally the game is good. I wouldn't replay it anytime soon, though. It's way too linear for my taste.
  4. I continued playing The Last of Us. Right now I really just want this game to end. It is a good game and I don't regret having bought it, but I yet again start to feel how the same mechanics are being used over and over and over again. The combat is always the same, the Ellie-can't-go-into-water parts are always the same, hey! Here is a ladder again,... and so on. Some parts of the game could have been a little bit shorter, imo.

I like the new Killers song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ewRR-spHMQ
  6. You can disable those notices. I have most game updates ignored on my account. You can disable the notes, but you can't disable the "20+" **** in the navigation. It is driving me crazy. I hate it that fb has to inform me that people from my friendlist played games that I have blocked.
  7. If they would have stuff like ballistic shields and in general more items to toy with, then I might be more interested. But right now... not so much.
  8. Wish I could disable the information that other people played game xy. It's annoying as hell. Everytime I visit the page, I see a 20+ on the left side. Urg. Other than that... Haven't seen any interesting fb games. Though, I am not actively searching either...
  9. Whine bottles? woops. :> well, it was late in the night, but my point still stands. They are all drinking like mad men. I wanted to take screenshots everytime I find a bottle, but figured it would be too much clickwork, as they are everywhere.
  10. I found out the big secret behind Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. Everyone in that town is an alcoholic. There are whine bottles everywhere. Every room has at least a whine bottle, in every shelf I find whine bottles and even in the cellars and on the streets you find whine bottles. It's really no wonder they have "amnesia" if they drink so much.
  11. If the console game costs 60€ and the pc version 50€, then yeah. Though, nowadays even steam releases cost around 60€...
  12. Heh. Well, such a thing didn't happened to me. It's still pretty common, though. The most prominent one in recent time (in germany) being the case of Jörg Kachelmann, where two women accused him of rape (it's interesting that in such cases it is often two women, not just one - good to have a witness).
  13. We could slowly fade the topic into the direction of male victims of women who lie about them beeing raped / sexually assaulted. It's a pretty big problem, as men are kind of guilty from the go. Even if they manage it to fend off a possible lawsuit / conviction - at least in germany - they have a very slim chance of taking the women to court and win. In many (if not pretty much all) cases, this will just end in "well, we can't prove that you have raped her, so you are free due to lack of evidence" - the damage still being done, the man might have lost the job, family, friends and whatnot, while the woman does not have to fear any conviction unless she confesses by herself (which doesn't happen very often, if at all...). Let the woman be young, pretty and start crying in the courtroom with the judge being a male and you have pretty much lost the case.
  14. He does have good points. I skipped over the video and couldn't find a lot to disagree. Also he is not just ranting about it. He also says that the game is really good in it's core, but that the ****ty elements are pushing it down.
  15. So Call of Duty is post-apocalyptic now? :>
  16. Shirts with only 1 achievement motive on it could easily work. Steam would just need to prepare some first- they wouldn't need to do every achievement, imo. Still, I wouldn't buy any.
  17. You can use the same stuff for a lost love too, even if it's quite a different topic. Me, personally, I am currently in the phase of depression.
  18. It's funny / interesting, whenever anything bad happens, I find myself making jokes about it. I don't exactly know why, but it's always my first reaction. It's Apparently how I deal with such situations. Seems as if I am full with black humor.
  19. By the way, the enemy turn time in my game is so long by now that I've started to read a book. Every turn I manage to read about 2 pages, more if nothing special happens in the game, like diplomatic stuff or a battle. I do not find it that bad, though, as I wanted to read more again anyway and just couldn't get me to spend time on it. :> Also the world map slowly loses more and more fps. If the clouds really are a huge performance eater, then I probably should check out how to disable them. They don't add anything to the graphical presentation anyway.
  20. And then he will be turning into the emperor of mankind, the immortal ruling monarch of the Imperium of Man.
  21. The starting position indeed has a huge influence. Obviously being surrounded by many potential enemies makes the game a lot harder, at least in the beginning. I slowly started to value the trade agreement a little more. Right now I have trade agreements with around 3/4 of all my known factions, which brings me about 9000 dinarii per turn. If I would higher my taxes to the maximum, I would make around 25k in a turn. Though, that's not a good idea, as my own towns would jump on me then. :> Still, as long as I only research and don't do much war, I shovel money like a mad men. What makes me wonder, though, is that the ai sometimes cancles trade agreements for (to me) no aparent reason. I mean, wouldn't this be the last thing you'd cancle? Like, a second before you invade the country? My tactic right now is to send the civic dudebros into enemy territory, where they spread latin culture until the enemy cities fall from a rebellion. Then I move my legions into the city and take it. Gives me a new town and the former faction doesn't notice it as a attack. :> It takes a while, of course....
  22. The beta will start then, the full release was pushed further into the future.
  23. lol @ life invader.
  24. German YouTube tells me the movie got removed because it is against their naked & sex rules. Now that makes me interested.
  25. Still haven't finished the game. After the Fall chapter started, I somehow totally lost motivation. I'll guess the game felt too repetitive to me. How knows when I will decide to finally finish it.
