I love In Bruges. One of the best movies I've seen since a long time. It was damn great from the beginning till the end.

Never got a smack, and I don't think that I "developed wrong" due to this.

What are you playing now?
Red Dead is, like I mentioned before, Anachronisms: The Game. It's fun, but it's still got the staple Rockstar sense of self-importance and the delusion that they're producing a cinematic production on the level of a Sergio Leone Western. It's pretty sparse, though, it's not a crime game like GTA if you stick to the story. Of course, you're always free to hogtie a nun and drop her on the train tracks. And then wait 20 minutes for the train to finally show up to fulfill your moustache-twirling fantasies. It still suffers from myriad bugs, glitches and freezes, though. I feel like an open world Western game could be phenomenal if executed more properly. I think what is needed is a real western rpg and not a rockstar open world western. Really, Red Dead Redemption is good. But I could never finish it, because at some point I had the same (sometimes more, sometimes less) annoying GTA feeling to me. The game could be so much more than what it is. Also I didn't liked that the "huge open world" isn't that huge actually. The gameworld feels pretty crowded to me, especially the mexico part, where you are riding through long corridor mountain stuff all the time (well, at least as far as I was motivated to play the game).

Counter-point: In a Kojima plotline, out of place technology ranks pretty low on the nonsensical list. But nanomachines!

MGS5 is set after Peace Walker. I don't like this super high tech stuff (holo codec / pda or what is that?), because from a timeline point of view this doesn't make any sense.

What are you playing now?
The same mechanics are used over and over and over again in nearly every game in existence. I think the more likely scenario is that it's a regular game and you've just burnt out on it. Take a break? I finished it already yesterday. And I took a break of a few months (started it on release, approx 1 week later I stopped playing until two days ago). Sure gameplay mechanics repeat often in games, but it's the first game (at least what I remember right now), where I have to "find" so many ladders or use palettes to transport a person over water. At some point I just thought "damn, it's not even 10 meters, why they don't try to swim over, helping each other?!" Anyway, generally the game is good. I wouldn't replay it anytime soon, though. It's way too linear for my taste.

What are you playing now?
I continued playing The Last of Us. Right now I really just want this game to end. It is a good game and I don't regret having bought it, but I yet again start to feel how the same mechanics are being used over and over and over again. The combat is always the same, the Ellie-can't-go-into-water parts are always the same, hey! Here is a ladder again,... and so on. Some parts of the game could have been a little bit shorter, imo.

Facebook games that are actually interesting?
You can disable those notices. I have most game updates ignored on my account. You can disable the notes, but you can't disable the "20+" **** in the navigation. It is driving me crazy. I hate it that fb has to inform me that people from my friendlist played games that I have blocked.

If they would have stuff like ballistic shields and in general more items to toy with, then I might be more interested. But right now... not so much.

Facebook games that are actually interesting?
Wish I could disable the information that other people played game xy. It's annoying as hell. Everytime I visit the page, I see a 20+ on the left side. Urg. Other than that... Haven't seen any interesting fb games. Though, I am not actively searching either...

What are you playing now?
I found out the big secret behind Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. Everyone in that town is an alcoholic. There are whine bottles everywhere. Every room has at least a whine bottle, in every shelf I find whine bottles and even in the cellars and on the streets you find whine bottles. It's really no wonder they have "amnesia" if they drink so much.

Almost a quarter of men 'admit to rape in parts of Asia'
Heh. Well, such a thing didn't happened to me. It's still pretty common, though. The most prominent one in recent time (in germany) being the case of Jörg Kachelmann, where two women accused him of rape (it's interesting that in such cases it is often two women, not just one - good to have a witness).

Almost a quarter of men 'admit to rape in parts of Asia'
We could slowly fade the topic into the direction of male victims of women who lie about them beeing raped / sexually assaulted. It's a pretty big problem, as men are kind of guilty from the go. Even if they manage it to fend off a possible lawsuit / conviction - at least in germany - they have a very slim chance of taking the women to court and win. In many (if not pretty much all) cases, this will just end in "well, we can't prove that you have raped her, so you are free due to lack of evidence" - the damage still being done, the man might have lost the job, family, friends and whatnot, while the woman does not have to fear any conviction unless she confesses by herself (which doesn't happen very often, if at all...). Let the woman be young, pretty and start crying in the courtroom with the judge being a male and you have pretty much lost the case.

My Rome: Total War 2 review
He does have good points. I skipped over the video and couldn't find a lot to disagree. Also he is not just ranting about it. He also says that the game is really good in it's core, but that the ****ty elements are pushing it down.

Reconciling different perspectives on grieving
You can use the same stuff for a lost love too, even if it's quite a different topic. Me, personally, I am currently in the phase of depression.
