  1. The only thing I really like so far is that power armor finally looks like power armor. It's huge and bulky and you seem to feel it. Not this paper knight armor like in Fo3. Though, I am worried that it will be nothing but a timed super power, going by the gameplay video, where the player first puts in some kind of energy source before it opens and can be used. /edit: But I think it's stupid how the T-60b suddenly looks a lot more like a modified version of the T-45b than the T-50b, which kind of would have made more sense, if you go by the numbers. By the way, the power armor in Fo3 was T-45D and not B. I wonder if that's on purpose or a mistake.
  2. Even back in the days I hated how the posts of a few were rated as "this is the opinion of all the NMA folks" by the masses.
  3. I really hope that wheel-inventory is console only.
  4. Fallout 2 has *no* timer. The only thing that might make you think it has a timer is the 13 years limit which forces both Fo1 and 2 to stop. This is engine related and there exists a fix / workaround for that. But come on... 13 (!) ingame years(!). Even the first times I played Fo2 (which is a lot bigger than Fo1, as we all certainly know) I never needed more than maximum 1 1/2 years to finish everything in that game. What the hell other people are doing in the game to get to the 13 years limit?? The timer in Fo1 ends as soon as you find the waterchip, which is usually not hard at all. Anway, this is what I really love about Fallout 1. You've got a pressing task, so deal with it. What, you are getting distracted by side stuff that isn't related to your task? Then don't complain if you fail your main task due to doing something else all the time... After all, the game world is open. You can go back to everything else at any other time (besides, you can pretty much do all the quests in the first few locations and still find the waterchip in time. You just have to avoid running aimlessly over the worldmap over and over again... It also helps to be aware of what you are doing. There is a red story line from location to location- everywhere is at least one NPC who leads you to the next town. Follow the trail and you find the waterchip easily.)
  5. Did some toying around with that Ruby ENB... I actually like my furry brahmin even more now.
  6. Well, it's kinda obvious he would say that. You don't really ever have to ask that question. Only dumb people would complain and throw feces, as - like written above - it would burn bridges you might not want to burn yet.
  7. Actually Fallout 3 has a crafting system. It is very basic though, and done via some ugly message boxes. PS: As far as my understanding for the Fo3 / FNV engine goes, it would be pretty possible to split up all clothes into multiple parts and having players equip them one by one. The available bones are: Not sure about the last three, but I wouldn't be surprised if you can refit them into "pants" or something like that. Then - and with a lot work for new models of everything - it probably would be possible to play dressup in these games too.
  8. Just released a new version. Tweaked the model and texture, also added a bonus holster with some feather stuff from the unique brush gun. Removed the scripts and simply made them craftable via workbench... Guess that's more what people want, and who am I to deny that. Especially considering this would never work with any of the custom weapon mod releases.
  9. Ok, I confess.
  10. says the guy who led the death threats years ago and who is raging on MMA along with dutch Death threats? What kind of stuff are you smoking? /Edit: Looks like the skill system has been entirely dropped. Not a single hint of it in the videos.
  11. Ok, I say it too. The base building looks ok. But really, it's nothing I want from a Fallout *RPG* ... This thing right now to me looks more like a post apocalyptic Minecraft with better graphics and ****ty dialogue.
  12. This is not the real project I wanted to work on next, just a small and fast proof of concept mod... The mod does what the screenshot shows. There are two *.esp files in the release, one that comes with a script- only shows the holster when a supported weapon is equipped, the other adds a "free" item to Goodsprings, which you can equip whenever you want to. It bothered me A LOT that in all the years nobody made god damn rifle holster. I hated the floating rifles since Fallout 3 and especially since I've played Red Dead Redemption, which - I think for the very first time ever? - added holster for rifles.... But here comes the sad part of it: I spend 4 hours working on this test. The model isn't perfect, the texture certainly is not either. The whole concept might not work at all... but in 7 hours I got over 1000 views and over 100 downloads. Then I look at my Betsy mod, which cost me 2 months of work and it only has barely more.
  13. lel they really did a voiced dude. Come on man. I really thought Bethesda couldn't disappoint me again, but I totally underestimated them. And base building? But hey... I don't blame them. Shait like this is in the top mods section since ages. Have to face it, I simply don't belong to Bethesdas target audience. They make games for other people, certainly not for my taste.
  14. Exactly. The game is good, but some of the maps... really... way too long and annoying. You think it's over, and then that damn thing still goes on and on.
  15. I forgot how often a Bethesda game can crash. Really, New Vegas with 50 mods runs a lot more stable for me than Fallout 3 without any mods. This thing is crashing like a madman.
  16. Minority? I think the ones who don't like Geralt are the minority. Except for maybe Dandelion in a spy rpg I don't want to play anyone other than Geralt.
  17. Aaaand... my new New Vegas mod is finally released. It's kind of a re-release of New Vegas Uncut 6 - If it wasn't for Betsy. I fixed it up... fixed lots and lots of bugs... really, it took me a truckton amount of time to fix it all (and I hope I got it all. Had to rewrite some scripts multiple times, which was driving me crazy up until a point where I thought it is unfixable). Also - of course - added my own tweaks, little changes here and there and fully voiced dialogue. I think the result is pretty good. /edit: What I've learned from this experience: Working on someone elses content can be a huge pain in the arse. The scripting style wasn't mine, so I had to get into it first, the dialogue buildup has been a pure mess (because it was made in Fallout 3 style - that means, the New Vegas dialogue editor obviously wasn't used, which resulted in dialogue nodes being all over the place) and the quest stages setup is all over the place as well. Makes me question my faith in humankind. My next project will be 100% my own again, and I feel happy about that.
  18. Awesome, that Shadow Warrior remake was good (though some of the levels should have been cut shorter, imo). But this 4 player coop... not sure how to feel about that. Also I'd like Wang to get a little bit more out with the jokes and stuff. That trailer isn't really showing off for my taste.
  19. As far as I can tell, it comes from people who don't like Sawyer assuming that Avellone agrees with them. Pretty much this. It's all rumors / forum posts gone wild. I know of no interview or tweet or w/e where something like this was said or hinted at. Reminds me a bit of this "Obsidian vs. Bethesda"-clash after this 84% New Vegas rating, which the gaming media was bloating up into something huge.
  20. Actually, I think I remember him asking on FB recently if anyone can give tips about good camera and microphone stuff (or similar), because of him wanting to continue the playthrough at home. Now with the latest news, I am wondering if this is somehow related.
  21. What is this with all the fancy looking space movies coming out lately? Did I missed some memo or something?
  22. Maybe you want to use the recently released Fallout 3 version of my Brahmin Variants Mod. :> http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21308/
  23. I still remember how ModDB was kinda going downhill after IndieDB and Desura came into play. You could really feel how they didn't spend any amount of time anymore on ModDB.
  24. If you can't source it, don't ****ing say it. Obviously just your usual negativity spreading BS. Again. Wish I could google the video it was said in, but after so many years it's kinda hard and I don't feel motivated to wade through all the old Fallout 3 news and check every damn video just to prove it... Instead, though, I found a quote of a follow-up interview which clarified the issue. https://fallout3.wordpress.com/2008/03/14/fallout-3-first-and-third-person/
  25. Sorry, too lazy to jump back in time and search for that interview. If you mean source for that new classic mode thingy, it's from that reddit rumor post.
