New Scientific Discoveries, Part Deux
Wait, did they gave people the drug and then had them have sex with HIV infected people or how does this work? If not, then how do they check when / if they had sex with a HIV infected person?

"some older CPUs" .. wouldn't call my CPU old yet. :> At least I could fix it on day 1 with the beta patch. Also I was able to fix the horrible screen tearing yesterday (forcing vsync and tripple buffering via NVIDIA settings + setting the game to fullscreen mode). Other than that, the game runs 100% fluid on my machine. No stuttering or fps drops at all. Additionally, the game plays great with a 360 gamepad. Phantom Pain plays exactly how I imagined it- Peace Walker with better graphics and less loading screens.

What are you playing now?
You can do the same. I think it was something like left analog stick to the left/right and pressing x (playing with 360 gamepad, no idea how it is on keyboard). This makes your car "strafe" to the side and hit them hard. Also maybe you'll have to upgrade your car a bit if you haven't done it yet.

Google tells me a truckton of people are having issues with MGS5 - mainly, the game crashes on startup. And I belong to the group of worthy people. Guess that's it with playing MGS5 today... Let's see when and if there will be a patch for that. Patching of Ground Zeroes was pretty low-priority, if I remember right.

What are you playing now?
Started Mad Max while MGS5 is downloading. So far it's not that bad, and I think the graphics are solid. The desert landscape looks pretty nice and driving the vehicle is fun so far. Though, I accidentally wasted 3 shotgun shells already because I accidentally pressed the B key....

I think the non-sexualized original woman who was the face-model for Quiet looks super pretty. There really wasn't any need to give her such a silly outfit.

The Latest Reading Thread
After reading the Valis trilogy I realized you have to read him as if reality as we know it, is just something we happened to agree on and therefore should we agree on something different, everything is up for graps. He's like the zanier Star Trek episodes - on drugs. The Man in the High Castle is awesome, but I didn't liked the ending. Interestingly, I usually don't like the ending of any PKD book.

Sorry I was gone so long 2.
You should play Factorio. The results could be interesting.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong Kickstarter is UP!
When I read about the uneven use of the etiquette checks, I am always wondering why they didn't do a location-checklist like e.g. in the old Van Buren design documents. Somehow feels to me as if they made the checks up while going, and didn't really tried to make them all feel useful.

I always only took argonian ships. Simply loved their design way more than any other. Would actually love to start a new game again as well, but it just requires way too much time until you are able to get to the cool stuff...

Shadowrun: Hong Kong Kickstarter is UP!
Made myself a rigger. Pistols and drones, that's how I roll. So far it's not that hard, I am not very far into it yet, though. Inside the wallet city, so pretty much still at the beginning of the game... Let's see how it continues from here on now.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Back in the days you heard stories about people getting their accounts hacked and stuff. Quite a few folks I know (including me), set their Steam profile to private due to this. The idea is: If the world doesn't know how many and what games you have, the interest in trying to get your account is drastically lowered. In any case, why should I care if someone else can see what games I have. I don't feel the need to impress people with my e-penor. tl;dr - his data might be a little flawed due to this. Or the private-only group is so small that it doesn't matter... who knows, certainly not me.

Torment Alpha has started *possible spoilers*
I did not expect the full game, never did. Wasteland 2 was just the Arizona part as well (in the beta), so there is no reason to expect more in Torment. But just the intro dialogue feels a little too rough to me. What I noticed was, that sometimes my character wasn't responding to clicks on the ground and on the orbs. In one occasion I had to move away a bit to trigger the next orb-dialogue. The voice actor was pretty good. He could do the whole game, imo. That's my thoughts so far.

Prepare for horrible download rates on Steam that day. So I'll guess I won't be playing until at earliest september 2nd.

Torment Alpha has started *possible spoilers*
Well, I gave up and got me the alpha access as well. So... now I actually wish I hadn't. :> The alpha is... not really what I would imagine of an alpha. It's the very start of the game, like the first 10 minutes and that's it. What exactly do you want to give feedback on here? Only things you can talk about is the intro text and how you feel about the initial character creation. Well, maybe the dialogue ui too, but that's it pretty much. There is nothing else. Oh, I could go on about how wonky the character movement feels, but then again, I clicked around only 4 or 5 times until the playable part had ended already. They really could have done something like a combat room after that, just for alpha purpose. Then at least you had something real to spend time on.

Oh, just noticed the second novella is out already... Totally missed it. Downing it right now, hope I'll find the time to read it soon. The first one wasn't bad, imo.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong Kickstarter is UP!
First one was ok-ish. It was short, but honestly, they spend most of their dev-time on the development tools... and it actually shows. With Berlin they didn't had to spend time on this stuff at all and could put 100% of their energy on the actual game. That's pretty much the reason why I'd hope that the new game will be even better. Guess we'll find out in two or so days.

I always thought "SoCal" is so poor they are selling advertisement places in school. Stuff like the "Coca Cola Classroom" or vending machines or something.

What I wondered: Does this game support gamepads from the go or is it 100% mouse & keyboard?
