  1. Oh god, all that grind and all the enemy outposts behind every corner... Never finished that game. Never finished Far Cry 3 either. Never even touched Far Cry 4. This Primal looks pretty interesting to me, but I am very certain Ubisoft will put in the same boring chores as always. Heh, also wouldn't be surprised if there suddenly appears time travel and guns are back too.
  2. Don't see them as main missions. It's more like repeating action with different rule set. Chapter 2 still has real "main missions", but not anywhere as many as chapter 1. This is why the ending sucks arse and feels totally rushed.
  3. These type of missions are optional. Chapter 2 is full of that crap. In order to progress with the main story you don't have to do them- you can as well repeat any other mission. Also keep in mind you'll have to listen to all the yellow audio logs (just start them and go to the next works as well if you don't want to bother with going through all of them). Until chapter 2 I loved the game. Then it went downhill fast.
  4. Oh no, don't tell me Kenny is back.
  5. You should, not quite as strong as Season 1, but still quite good.. and more grim. I just feel like I absolutely can't connect with Clementine. Maybe it's because I don't like to play as a little girl. Dunno.
  6. Just finished the Walking Dead Season 2 EP 1. Was ok-ish. Quite brutal at times. Still gonna stick with it for now.
  7. Groups of soldiers really don't like stun- and the sleep-grenades. :> The parasite skulls stuff once again made me feel like they totally wanted to have Zombies in the game, just like in MGS4... bleh. Really didn't like these parts. Except for the Traitor Caravan mission.. here I could snatch two more armored vehicles and the following fight is super easy if I use the knockout airstrike.
  8. Well, the good thing is, space is full of... empty space. Unlike games such as Skyrim or whatever, you don't have to load and render a truckton of scenery models every 10 meters. It should be fairly possible to stream planets and ships continuously if the engine pipeline isn't a turd. There was a dev diary about this in which they explained that everything in the gameworld is "defined as containers." This pretty much means - for example - a container inside only gets loaded when you are inside of it as well. If you fly your cool space ship in space, the game will load distant planets / backdrops as well as other ships flying around, but not load the interior of the other ships or space stations, as you are not in their "container",... Anyway. Even Second Life does similar things since around 2003, just that it tries to load the full cell / grid in which you are, which in return is devastating for the game performance. No idea if anything about it changed by now, but the last time I checked it out, even with high speed internet it took a long time to load all the graphic objects. Limiting the traffic with that container system could actually work quite good, I'd say. Not sure if the CryEngine was the best choice for that, though. Well, we'll probably see some day in the future... /Edit: With all the fuzz about that game since a while now, it almost makes me feel like people *want* this to go down.
  9. I can't stop thinking about this stupid thing.
  10. tbh, I've grown so, so tired of the clans. Especially the Timber Wolf. By now it's actually my least liked mech. The Mad Dog is still kinda cool, but I'd still rather not use it because all you hear most of the time is clans, clans, clans.
  11. It's all in the mechlab or god knows where. Fired it up again and since I played last the interface has changed a lot. Finding it a little confusing right now.
  12. Not actively anymore. The development became so slow at some point that I've lost motivation to play. Then our group of people who played every few days disappeard as well and playing alone in public sucks a lot. That's why I've got some great hopes in this thing here. Singleplayer and even turn based, this can become the mech game I am really carving for since years.
  13. PS: I so love this concept art, because the Catapult is 100% my thing. Also is my fav+ mech in MWO, which I used effectively to slay many opponents.
  14. I'd be curious how they plan to implement Crytek engine models into the Unity engine. Doubt it will be a big deal. No idea what model format Cryengine uses, but in any case the MWO folks should have the source files, which then can be ported to anything else.
  15. Awesome that they can use the MWO models. They look good and it saves them a lot time and money which can be spend on other areas instead.
  16. After my MGSV addiction I am now addicted to Open Transport Tycoon. Wasted many hours on it already. It's free and quite fun. Added some mods on top of it now, which makes it even better.
  17. I just wish that damn Train Simulator would get as much love as Truck Simulator. They are spitting out bad DLC for 30€ and they never fix bugs. Every year they call the game "Train Simulator Current Year +1" and change the main menu a bit and that's it. Oh yeah, and since the last year change, the game now is a tad more blurry... Annoys the hell out of me. A Train Simulator could be so great- a combination of what is currently there + some Transport Tycoon. Setup rail lines, setup timetables for many trains, transport goods from A to B and make money with it, etc. Why they don't do such a thing is beyond me.
  18. Thing with Alien Isolation is that it's too much IN YOUR FACE. It doesn't feel like the alien is hunting you- it's simply there, all the time. And the more it is around you, the less it will scare you. Man, later in the game I was dancing around tables with the alien being like 5 feet away from me and felt nothing. Especially when waiting in a corner it became obvious how simple-random it was walking around and jumping vents. Nothing scary about it as soon as you figure out the Ai. The game still was tense, but not scary anymore.
  19. Some puzzles were changed and new ones added. They also added a new storyline about Spencer (the dude who build the house), other than that it is still quite like the original. IMO the Remake is the best Resident Evil game to date. I just wish someone would remake the old Alone in the Dark games into something like that.
  20. Yeah, but like I said- so far I had one of them, and then never again.
  21. If it isn't that much about horror, then I might as well try it out.
  22. Run up to them and use fulton. Usually you should be able to get close to them with running a circle, then get to them from behind. If no other unit has seen you yet, then they won't know if you are there unless you run up directly from the front. I usually fultoned every combat vehicle. There is one later mission where you have to stop 7 russian tanks... I fultoned all of them, and another 2 tanks in the following bonus mission(ending). :> The normal APCs can be rendered unable to drive if you hit them once directly in the back. This makes them very easy prey. The battle tanks usually stop for a short time if you hit them- perfect moment to use fulton. Combat Deployment is where you use Battle Gear. You build nukes on the resource screen. But it's not just available there? I mean, I once saw a mission where it appeard on the right side under my units, but most of the time there is just generic stuff. Appears to be quite random to me.
  23. How do you even build a nuke- I haven't figured that out yet. Also in one cutscene it was said I should give the order to use the "Battle Gear" in combat, but again... till today I couldn't figure out how.
  24. Man, I love the ideas behind all of Frictional Games, but I just never can finish them. Such games, I just can't play them for long. Really makes me wonder how I was able to finish the Alien game... Then again, guess that one was so long (and repeating after a while) that it wasn't so scary anymore...
  25. Well, the rumor is (keep in mind I haven't played the game) that the game slipped many deadlines and was quite overbudget, which is what caused the Konami/Kojima split, so it seems to fit. Yeah, but truth told-- I can't really see why. If at all, I'd say the cutscenes are what made the previous games so expensive, but MGS5 features nearly none. The two huge gameworlds would be another thing, but truth told, they don't look *that* unique if you check the details... doubt it was eating that much money either (or let's say more than in the previous games). Maybe it's the technical stuff in the background- the custom engined that drained the money so hard. Otherwise I really don't know. All in all, it's a damn shame. Would gladly buy any DLC and stuff that expands the game as well, but I feel like we won't be getting anything like that. The overbudget thing might as well be the reason they've made us pay for the prologue and then for the main game and now also for MGO... Heh, making people pay three times for one game.
