  1. As long as it won't follow all the other same super heroe movie cliches.
  2. Would blow it on blackjack and hookers.
  3. The second half also had so many situations that made me sad, because of all the wasted potential. There could have been so much more possible. Like the whole base / start location, which feels extremely cheap and empty for what it's supposed to be. I wonder if they changed any of that with the DC, but I somehow doubt this. They always only talked about graphic update and voiced dialogue and never about expanded dialogue and quests... Really, more voiced dialouge is the least I'd needed in this game.
  4. 3 dialogues at once? Now that's what I call interactivity of the future.
  5. His definition of railroading is highly flawed. Stopped reading there, it's not worth the anger.
  6. Well, FNV already felt like a huge difference compared to Fo3. Fo4 certainly has the best gunplay of the bunch. I found the fps combat in Fo3 nearly unbearable without pause-mode, while I only rarely used the pause mode in FNV (usually when enemies came too close to me). In Fo4, though, I noticed the same old Vats bugs with the player being unable to effectively click the body part to shoot at... just now that it's only in slow-mo, it's kinda worse in my opinion (click, click, click, click, ffs why can't I target the damn head?).
  7. Looks like something is going on with Steam right now. People are able to login to other accounts and stuff. https://twitter.com/SteamDB/status/680490823226671104
  8. This click-bait title really makes me not want to click it. :>
  9. PayPal helped me save money this xmas. Wanted to buy some stuff, but then... nope, account limited. Had to change my pass, my security questions and identify myself and now it takes a few days for them to check the later. I'll guess they didn't liked how I logged in from a totally different computer and location this time and then locked up my account. Highly annoying, but oh well.
  10. Maybe he'll post a new christmas song.
  11. It took me a while to realize they are backer npcs. The first few confused the hell out of me, because I thought there would be a possibility to further interact with them.
  12. Of course it is because of the open world gameplay, but here is the thing: Everyone is like yadda-yadda, Bethsoft so good in environmental storytelling with skeletons and terminals and stuff, so why not use this to convey the explanation of what ghouls are? The player can stumble over it early or late in game and it won't feel out of place... While talking to an npc about it 100 hours later is hella stupid.
  13. I hated how you could mow down ghouls for hours and then at one point you meet an NPC and you are like "what the hell are ghouls? Tell me about it!"
  14. Usually you can damage them with the right ammo and hitting the right spots. Though I agree that it can get frustrating at times- as soon as you upgraded your tank too much, the game throws you into +1 / +2 tier battles. I stopped playing when gaining XP in my Bradley became too much work and too little fun. It's really not worth the pain just to get the damn Terminator tank...
  15. It's like they somehow realized people complained about the lack of farms in fo3 and then decided to plaster farms all over the game world in fo4. PS: I don't like this approach at all. It's noble we finally have growing food, but imo a few but big farms would have been a lot better and more realistic than all these tiny 2-farmer settlements with 5 plants.
  16. From the really big titles, I think Witcher 3 was the only really good one. I actually can't even remember any other game...
  17. Just saw this best off game awards thingy and now I won't be able to sleep for a few nights.
  18. Few years back I would say the same, but if I now imagine to play the game without minimap and quest arrow, I'd probably stop playing right away. It's like games today forgot how to convey quest related information in a good way. If I disable this stuff, I just run around like a headless chicken, not know where to go and who to talk to. Either because the quest npcs or quest descriptions lack details or because the gameworld is too big and ugly to navigate.
  19. The persistent universe is only one part of it. Squadron 42 is pretty much the space flight shooter game, then there is Arena Commander, which is the generic multiplayer one (also includes racing and whatever type of games), and then there is Star Marine, which is the first-person-shooter. So actually what they do right now, is working on 3 games, which are interwoven into Star Citizen where it all comes together. So even if Star Citizen itself will fail, there is still potential for a cool space ship shooter, space ship racer, and space first-person-shooter, which all are a possible thing to get finished.
  20. I thought the whining decreased a lot since they started to show all the new ingame footage. Especially with the new public alpha, it slowly becomes very hard to call the game vaporware with keeping a straight face. I mean, yeah, it still needs *a lot* work, but you can totally see and feel where it's going. Dudes like Derek Smart probably rotate in anger now, which I can only laugh about. :>
  21. And here I was, hoping to learn more about reptoids.
  22. Now that the islam thread is closed, what will I read and care about all day long now?
  23. Maybe it's some form of fish-eye sight, where everything looks bigger than it actually is. I remember games like X used this. No idea about this here, though. In fact, I actually hoped the landing on planets would be a simple cutscene / autopilot flight, because now it seems you can fly around the planet and see the wast of... nothingness similar to the planetary landing in this new Elite expansion.
  24. I just noticed you now have to pay $39 to get the game. I'll guess this also helps with people not backing the game. It's a lot easier to spend some $15 on a project that might or might not be good than $39. The $10 pledge is kinda laughable, imo, unless you can't get the first game cheaper anywhere else and really need your name in the credits of the second game which nobody will ever really read and care about.
  25. Nay, ain't my type of game. Also it looks like ships always move on a 2d plane? Thought this game would be in "real" 3d / on a z axis, etc.
