Well, raising prices is one thing. Long term damage to US soft power with allies is another. But these Americans only understand force, so allies are to be vassals, I guess. In terms of jobs, not too sure many jobs have left the US for Canada of all places, also here we send the Americans raw materials - stuff like lumber, aluminum, potash - and energy - a lot of our electricity goes to the US, and oil.
