  1. Song of Farca nice little adventure game, simple mechanics and all but is pretty enjoyable so far. The PC sure causes damage with her actions, think I've caused 3 deaths, hah. Nice of people to leave password hints in their rooms and offices near where I need to enter them.
  2. Think recruiting is up. Also if the economy tanks, usually more people enlist, I think
  3. Related https://taskandpurpose.com/news/arlington-cemetery-scrubs-website-dei/ I'm sure they'll just pass it off as trolling. The internet was a mistake, everything is trolling, nothing is serious.
  4. And it'll be "thoughts and prayers" from the liberals, as well.
  5. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/f35-blair-trump-1.7484477 Probably all talk, but in the same way, F35s aren't going to help protect us from the US. We need nukes or maybe some biological weapons for that. But does indicate some strain in the relationship, amusing how many Americans see Canada as being hostile here, heh. Is why I don't count too much on people saying the US populace will rebel against Trump invading or anything forceful
  6. Oh yah, was just her trying to convince my mom to quit smoking as that won't kill you instantly, etc. To be honest she doesn't smoke so much as just burn cigs, I should tell her to just burn $20 bills. Was just something I'd never expect to hear from a doctor. Guess she saw The Kingdom. But is true I guess. Pro-tip for social interactions though, don't ask people if they ever wonder how they'll die
  7. A doctor telling you "We all check out, only thing that matters is how you want to go out" is inspiring.
  8. Yeah the pedophile Sergeant Major hit them with the grooming standard. The Gitmo project for immigrants is over apparently, good use of money. Although I did come across this Says a lot.
  9. Yep, but if you're not in such an environment, might not matter. Found this out from an Army acquaintance, heh. Apparently the 2015 date is suspicious to some, given Hegseth's opinions on women. Related to that https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/trump-white-house-asked-us-military-develop-options-panama-canal-offic-rcna195994 Granted I am sure they plan for all manner of stuff but it's just a funny look.
  10. Well Monolith was a decent game, puzzles weren't too bad, I like having to read journals and check recordings. The twist was creative enough, but doing that kind of thing probably will cheat some players. The voice acting and cutscenes are poor though,. especially the old lady doctor and her kid. Well worth 8 dollars though.
  11. Hegseth's obsession with macho stuff is somewhat funny. What the heck do beards have to do with lethality or effectiveness. Well, other than purging Sikhs, I guess.
  12. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/13/dave-weldon-cdc-nomination-withdrawn Probably bad optics to pick a vaccine skeptic at this time.
  13. They'll want them out of Kursk first, I think. Although looks like that's going to happen by end of week
  14. I guess the hope is they won't piss Trump off, as he'll give Ukraine nukes or something.
  15. So Ukraine is on side for a 30 day ceasefire, now up to Russia to make Trump throw a tantrum or something if they don't agree. Intel and weapons sharing resuming too, at least from BBC feed Ah joint statement here https://www.president.gov.ua/en/news/spilna-zayava-za-pidsumkami-zustrichi-delegacij-ukrayini-ta-96553
  16. Fun part of work is when people say "Hi" on Teams, and then nothing else. Nothing like trying to force async to be sync
  17. https://www.theregister.com/2025/03/10/nz_health_excel_spreadsheet/ "The report also noted five big problems with the sheet used at HNZ: - Financial information was often 'hard-coded,' making it difficult to trace to the source or have updated data flow through. - Errors such as incorrectly releasing accruals or double-up releases were not picked up until following periods. - Changes to prior periods and FTE errors in district financial reporting Excel submissions, would not flow through to consolidated file. - The spreadsheet can be easy to manipulate information as there is limited tracking to source information where information is not flowing directly from accounting systems. - It is highly prone to human error, such as accidental typing of a number or omission of a zero. Relying on the spreadsheet also meant Health NZ moved slowly: The report found "monthly financial reporting usually took 12-15 days to consolidate and five days to analyze."
  18. On to Monolith. Good to see Animation Arts having awful English voice acting. I still quote the game these days. Though, have to remember to not do it around people with nose rings.
  19. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/trump-wants-see-just-minerals-deal-restart-aid-intel-ukraine-rcna195508 "As U.S. and Ukrainian officials prepare to meet in Saudi Arabia this week, President Donald Trump has privately made clear to aides that a signed minerals deal between Washington and Kyiv won’t be enough to restart aid and intelligence sharing with the war-torn country, according an administration official and another U.S. official. Trump wants the deal, which would give the United States a stake in Ukraine’s mineral resources, signed. But he also wants to see a change in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s attitude toward peace talks, the officials said, including a willingness to make concessions such as giving up territory to Russia. Trump also wants Zelenskyy to make some movement toward elections in Ukraine and possibly toward stepping down as his country’s leader, the officials said." Trump and MAGA caring so much about elections and democracy is precious. Given once the war ends, an election is permitted and is practical, sort of an pointless demand.
