  1. Hegseth's obsession with macho stuff is somewhat funny. What the heck do beards have to do with lethality or effectiveness. Well, other than purging Sikhs, I guess.
  2. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/13/dave-weldon-cdc-nomination-withdrawn Probably bad optics to pick a vaccine skeptic at this time.
  3. They'll want them out of Kursk first, I think. Although looks like that's going to happen by end of week
  4. I guess the hope is they won't piss Trump off, as he'll give Ukraine nukes or something.
  5. So Ukraine is on side for a 30 day ceasefire, now up to Russia to make Trump throw a tantrum or something if they don't agree. Intel and weapons sharing resuming too, at least from BBC feed Ah joint statement here https://www.president.gov.ua/en/news/spilna-zayava-za-pidsumkami-zustrichi-delegacij-ukrayini-ta-96553
  6. Fun part of work is when people say "Hi" on Teams, and then nothing else. Nothing like trying to force async to be sync
  7. https://www.theregister.com/2025/03/10/nz_health_excel_spreadsheet/ "The report also noted five big problems with the sheet used at HNZ: - Financial information was often 'hard-coded,' making it difficult to trace to the source or have updated data flow through. - Errors such as incorrectly releasing accruals or double-up releases were not picked up until following periods. - Changes to prior periods and FTE errors in district financial reporting Excel submissions, would not flow through to consolidated file. - The spreadsheet can be easy to manipulate information as there is limited tracking to source information where information is not flowing directly from accounting systems. - It is highly prone to human error, such as accidental typing of a number or omission of a zero. Relying on the spreadsheet also meant Health NZ moved slowly: The report found "monthly financial reporting usually took 12-15 days to consolidate and five days to analyze."
  8. On to Monolith. Good to see Animation Arts having awful English voice acting. I still quote the game these days. Though, have to remember to not do it around people with nose rings.
  9. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/trump-wants-see-just-minerals-deal-restart-aid-intel-ukraine-rcna195508 "As U.S. and Ukrainian officials prepare to meet in Saudi Arabia this week, President Donald Trump has privately made clear to aides that a signed minerals deal between Washington and Kyiv won’t be enough to restart aid and intelligence sharing with the war-torn country, according an administration official and another U.S. official. Trump wants the deal, which would give the United States a stake in Ukraine’s mineral resources, signed. But he also wants to see a change in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s attitude toward peace talks, the officials said, including a willingness to make concessions such as giving up territory to Russia. Trump also wants Zelenskyy to make some movement toward elections in Ukraine and possibly toward stepping down as his country’s leader, the officials said." Trump and MAGA caring so much about elections and democracy is precious. Given once the war ends, an election is permitted and is practical, sort of an pointless demand.
  10. Played Full Throttle Remastered, forgot how short it is, I cleared the game in under 2 hours. Amazing I remember the solutions to the puzzles even after 30 years, good to see I retain the important stuff. The Remastered audio sounds worse in some aspects, the art is bit eh, Maureen looks a little worse. At least they nerfed the wall puzzle
  11. I believe NWO is not the preferred nomenclature, I think it's currently "globohomo"
  12. We'd have to be 13 states, so 26 new Senators and maybe 50 new Representatives ?
  13. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/07/world/canada/trump-trudeau-canada-51st-state.html Had forgotten him talking about the border treaty not being legitimate
  14. Seems real enough. Considering who the Comm. Director is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Cheung_(political_advisor) it isn't surprising.
  15. https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/03/yes-biden-spent-millions-on-transgender-animal-experiments/ When this is an official statement, you know things are ****.
  16. https://www.axios.com/2025/03/05/us-ukraine-weapons-intelligence-sharing-pause-russia-talks Certainly squeezing Ukraine hard
  17. As usual, people championing free speech are full of it.
