  1. https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/trump-cut-off-all-future-funding-south-africa-2025-02-02/ Undoubtedly Miller pitched this to him as White Genocide.
  2. https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2025/02/2/7496431/ As you can imagine now people are running with a narrative that there's 100+ B missing.
  3. Yeah for sure we've tied ourselves to the Americans too much, but I guess on some level alliances should matter somewhat. Also the fact is, I'm not really sure Canada is really harming the US in any way. They send their drugs and guns to us, we send them some drugs and illegals back, but hardly a crisis issue. As the WSJ said, this is the dumbest trade war - https://www.wsj.com/opinion/donald-trump-tariffs-25-percent-mexico-canada-trade-economy-84476fb2
  4. Well, raising prices is one thing. Long term damage to US soft power with allies is another. But these Americans only understand force, so allies are to be vassals, I guess. In terms of jobs, not too sure many jobs have left the US for Canada of all places, also here we send the Americans raw materials - stuff like lumber, aluminum, potash - and energy - a lot of our electricity goes to the US, and oil. Goes back to targeting the industries you want to bring back to the US rather than just everything. Project 2025 wanted tariffs instead of income tax, no ?
  5. US has free trade deals with Canada and Mexico, who are friendly nations - particularly Canada, including the USMCA deal Trump was so proud of regardless of how it differed from NAFTA. As is most common in life doing broad things is dumb, so raising prices for Americans, damaging allied economies for nebulous reasons. Shame Putin's hostile to us, we could appeal to him to host some Oreshnik launch sites.
  6. Ah ok, fair, guess my experience over here coloured my view a lot as all we get is rah rah Ukraine stuff.
  7. And apparently if Canada retaliates, then tariffs increase. The US really deserves much worse than it gets.
  8. I said ATACMS for Congo not South Africa as they resist Rwandan forces. I should go re read Dancing in the Glory of Monsters, but this seems very similar to 25 years ago.
  9. Watched Fourth Protocol. The number of people getting killed to tie up loose ends gets comical.
  10. Pedersen understands bolter porn
  11. And of course the air disaster in D.C. was due to DEI and Biden according to Trump, with no evidence.
  12. Them's fighting words. Finished Kotor, killed Carth in an extremely half assed sequence, his dying words had a great bored delivery. I guess I can go on to Kotor 2, but eh.
  13. MAGA Americans only understand force. As for RFK Jr, wonder if someone will mention him saying COVID ignored the Jews.
  14. Will dig up the DVD to check. Almost finished, forgot how short some planets are. Running with Juhani, usually I kill her, even on LS. Her remarks when I kill some guy's kid then shake him down for reward money are fun.
  15. Yep https://www.pcmag.com/news/trump-to-tariff-chips-made-in-taiwan-targeting-tsmc Kissinger was correct about being the US' friend.
  16. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/27/health/pepfar-trump-freeze.html Sort of dumb to suspend it just for review purposes.
  17. I guess it's just meat for people that think Iron Dome is some mythical defense system (pro-Ukraine people were like this), but ignoring the limitations of the system in terms of missiles it's guarding against and the area it's protecting. Maybe Canada will start lobbing MLRS at..uh...Rochester and Buffalo and the like ? But perhaps I was mistaken though and he just wants to be Reagan with SDI
  18. Hegseth talking about Iron Dome for America is a strange one. https://www.defense.gov/News/Transcripts/Transcript/Article/4041779/secretary-of-defense-pete-hegseth-pentagon-arrival-remarks/
  19. https://archive.is/CLgeE Remarkable from a leader on Blue Team.
  20. Can be done as they get carried out, as I mentioned earlier, the concern during the election was anticipating this, for obvious reasons. And can still do that now, as it is a nascent government. As for specifics, the Time article mentions some. The line you quoted doesn't negate the whole thesis, it's not binary. The same value in discussing what they might do as there is at the point if they do those things. We're on an internet forum after all. The only result w.r.t. P2025 is that it may have been an accurate attack from the Dems during the election, really.
  21. I forget you can't anticipate actions. Wonder why armies waste time with intelligence departments. Also it's not that hard a read, beyond the usual right wing sneering tone. No harder a read than a textbook or a book by an author with no editor like Stephenson
