we always called these helicopter seeds, they're maple keys huh? learn something every day love the idea. their natural aerodynamics allows them to almost hover, i could see this for a glider, as long as we could make it so our characters don't spin with them lol that'd give us a like a 15 real time minute dizziness penalty and vomiting so we'd be dehydrated and hungry.

Infected weevils
McSquirl Nugget replied to McSquirl Nugget's topic in Grounded: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Didn't think to use the axe. Last night after getting fed up with this mission I found the larvae dagger in the rock while hunting for slings to kill for Burg-l. if i didn't drop this weevil mission i'll try that dagger when i play tonight. -
Don't forget to light it

Bugs (ants) Stuck in Rocks
McSquirl Nugget replied to CaitlynGenders's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
it does. and luckily i've not had any dead bodies stuck yet doing this that i couldn't collect. I've seen this with numerous bugs. even had lady bugs stuck in the roots of the oak tree. -
Just got the quest from Burg-l to kill 4 infected weevils. Problem is I can't. I can't even hit them, they register no damage. I've used the pebble ax, hammer, ant club, pebble spear, now and arrows, none work. They run to me and explode but I can't hit them. Pretty sure I was able to do this a week or so ago when I first explored the poison gas area. Am I doing something wrong?

REQUEST!! Pully / elevator system!!
McSquirl Nugget replied to Toejam's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
like the other elevator posts i'm in with this one. my idea on how this would work Rope made by combining woven fibers Net made by combining ropes and woven fibers a floor to place the pallet on, etc. pulley weed stems, twigs, and woven fibers You'd put the pulley on a scaffold frame, attach the rope to the floor and up through the pulley. net could be filled with pebblets to act as a counter weight to assist raising the load. Could use a bug part to put in the pulley to lock it, so it didn't fall down or counter weight pull it up too high. -
New items in game with new mechanics
McSquirl Nugget replied to HeDoBeDoin's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
interesting. filter could have lots of uses also, like a tier 2 option over gnat and mite fuzz, bedding (if you could stand the smell) with grub hides to make a mattress. Twigs and ant parts to make a bed frame. that could give you bonuses for health and stamina vs. sleeping in the shelter. -
Problem/suggestion
McSquirl Nugget replied to Ikovacs1747's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
there's an issue (maybe bug?) i've noticed with spider spawns. Thought it was just with Gnats and Ants, but i must not have noticed until last night. it's a gauntlet run for me to get to the oak tree lab. all of the spiders around it and along the fence on each side have double or triple spawned. where a few weeks ago i'd have 1 or 2 in an area, i now see up to 6. luckily wolf spiders have always been loaners, so instead of 5 or 6 like the orb weavers i've only got 2 to outrun that wander around the lab entrance. So far i haven't seen spawn issues with the other bugs, bombardiers, stink bugs, and lady bugs haven't changed that i've noticed. Although i did kill the bombardier at the spade quite a while back and it hasn't respawned yet, so maybe.... +1 to this -
Unreachable lost materials/resources
McSquirl Nugget replied to Steve616's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
Slow down, relax, punctuate again, i've never had this happen, but if you have that sucks. it's a bug they'll need to fix. Why change the game for everyone based on how you chose to play? this can be easily mitigated by learning resource management. Your map would only be cluttered like this if you allowed it. No need for a timer for this reason, like your parents probably tell or told you, pick up after yourself. like the pallets you said in the sentence (and post) before this one there's no need for.... and how you want it to be played isn't how everyone else that plays wants it. Obsidian has to make the decision what would benefit everyone, or the largest majority of players (cause you can't please everyone no matter what you do) and my opinion above, and still is, this isn't the way to do it. -
Minty Freshness
McSquirl Nugget replied to William Blair's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
i don't think mint should respawn. you get what's in the container, how would more "grow"? all the other resources we collect are renewable and respawn, grass grows, weeds grow (that needs to be fixed though), pebbles break down and provide pebblets, etc. etc. Makes no sense to have a man made product respawn. it should stay as a limited rare resource. -

you can get the planks out of rocks and hills, i've yet to have one stuck that isn't accessible. and no, i'd not like to have the planks i've chopped down and left to gather later disappear. Yes the pallets are needed, sure you can store lots more contained in walls, until you or a bug wanders in there and you have a plank explosion. they'll just walk over the pallets without disturbing them. I'd like to see the pallets be able to hold more layers. -
except for the rain, that would be cool to have as a dramatic environmental changing event he was talking about in the interview.

It's Time to get Grounded!
McSquirl Nugget replied to Shyla's topic in Grounded: Announcements & News
maybe there is one beyond our view. gotta remember we're the size of ants, tree house would be at least 10 ft up in the tree, at least mine growing up and all my friends that had them were that high. our view limit is around a foot or so off the ground. That said, hopefully this will be something they add that we can explore in the future. -
Nice! i'm behind on the building, i spent my points so far for the other items, torch, raw science indicator, and multiple level buildings so far. half way there to get 5k building plans. i've been having fun learning and exploring. and dying from wolf spiders trying to get their fangs. lots of dying
-
yeah but that really has no purpose yet. I'd like to have a saddle and platform you can build and place on an ant, then ride it and direct it with the carrot, or in our case a hotdog piece or other food item they like. but then we'd have to have a way to keep them in place, wouldn't do much good to ride them to the weed, for example, you want to harvest and then have to chase them around to put the stems on their back.

Game is unplayable now
McSquirl Nugget replied to KnickKnight's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
well that sucks. I haven't had a problem yet with my saves (knock on wood or whatever superstition action you want) on the xbox. you're closing the game out when you finish? hitting the xbox button, highlighting hte Grounded game, hit the hamburger button (or whatever it's called now) and exit the game. could be corrupt cache xbox uses to quick load the game and that will clear it. -
Feature request - Blueprint Recycle timer
McSquirl Nugget replied to tecknotot's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
that's bugged me also. got my vote to include this. -
i'm for this idea, but to do it in the game methods we have it'd have to be a root cellar type deal to keep it cool. they'd have to give us the ability to dig. and that would only extend the shelf life of the meat a couple days at best. The only feasable way i can see to do the freezer idea is if they add a dropped styrofoam cup with ice in it, and allowed us to harvest the styrofoam and build an icehouse with the ice. still that would only give us a few days over the root cellar for cold storage. maybe a week tops in game time.

Improved Base building
McSquirl Nugget replied to AlexJediKnight's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I don't recall Ark or Stranded Deep allowing you build into the existing terrain. I don't think Grounded should either. or am i totally misunderstanding what's wanted here? -
Improved Base building
McSquirl Nugget replied to AlexJediKnight's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
the environment definitely should restrict how/where you build your base. cut the grass down, i mean seriously? it's grass, 3 hits with the insect axe and it's gone. rocks, roots, and fence posts and such should also block you from building into them. I don't think it needs to be changed, and don't take this the wrong way but it sounds like you need to learn better placement for your construction. What i think should happen is the floor should form around the post or rock at a reduced material cost, 2 or 3 planks instead of 4, depending how far into the environment it goes. then the graphic for that floor piece should show the floor cut and shaped around the object if they're goin to make any change for this.
