  1. could work that way. my personal preference is bump existing threads with more info, keeps the forums less cluttered. but that's just me
  2. you broke something i had no issues with the bow and aiming at lunch. What happens if you load a previous save?
  3. yep, that's a great (or maybe horrible) sign it's most likely your save file conflicting with something in the update. test a new game see what happens then
  4. had ant eggs respawned when i played today at lunch, grabbed the ones there.
  5. no issues on Xbox for respawns. try a new game, could be the save file and update having issues with each other.
  6. great idea, would make exploring the pond easier. You do realize we're the size of ants? any fish would be countless times larger than us and see us a food, even freshly hatched minnows would be at least twice our size and eat us. and you can't outswim a fish. we wouldn't stand a chance, same with frogs. Useable resources from fish would be cool. Non-interactable fish in the pond dropping scales now and then to use for various items, like the crow feathers.
  7. few thoughts on this. If my pebblet axe breaks, i most likely have a 2nd axe or higher tier axe waiting to use. i'd not like the crafting menu to open to the pebblet axe. I'd rather have the option to hit the mapped button for that item and get the prompt, it's broken - repair? if you say yes it repairs it, if you have the items in inventory. if you say no it does like now and sheaths it so your hands are empty. I like the 2nd point, but rather than it opening the crafting menu to that item, i'd like to see the option to make the missing woven fibers or whatever craftable item you're missing for that blueprint. I've always disliked programs trying to predict what you want.
  8. I like the idea, nice pic and draw up also I don't think it would have a place in the game though. You'd get a stun and then put it away and beat them with other weapons. rinse repeat if they live long enough to get out of the stun. I think it would make the game too easy mode. Stun, smack, stun, smack, dead. that'd be boring. I also prefer to make jerky from the bug meat, i'd rather not have this if it cooks the meat for us either.
  9. I disagree. Meat in real life is only good for a few hours out in the open after cooking. Depending which article you choose to believe it's either 2 or 4 hours before it reaches danger zone for bacteria growth. We get a full day in game before it spoils. 24 hours before cooking and 24 hours after. that's plenty. Build the Jerky Rack, jerky doesn't spoil.
  10. ah i see, yes i was thinking something else. I like that idea.
  11. If you build up the ground to form a foundation, then it should act like the clay foundation, but more susceptible to damage as it's just dirt, vs clay. If you're just landscaping to flatten out the area to build on, raise it a bit there lower here, etc. then yes, it should be impervious to damage like the ground is. Moat would be cool! hadn't thought of that either. Then we'd need a palisade draw bridge and portcullis
  12. Did some testing finally at lunch a bit ago. I know having a simple bed on a plank floor on a scaffolding is bugged, you get stuck in the bed. Confirmed it happens pretty much anywhere. I tested it on a plank floor on the ground with a floor/roof piece right above Tried it on a plank floor with roof tiles and a plank floor connecting, 2 wall lengths high out in the open on a clay foundation and finally just out in the open All of these instances get you stuck in the bed. EXCEPT the one above just out in the open on the ground. This one, when you respawn into it, makes you fall into the earth, and you get a cool view of the landscape from underneath But then, you get stuck in a respawn loop. You fall through the earth, you die, you respawn, fall through the again, wash rinse repeat. Luckily i had an autosave just before i created the bed out here by the Oak Tree, so i was able to load that and continue on with the game.
  13. space above doesn't matter. i had the vaulted roof above my bed and it still did it. had another bed outside under the stars on a balcony and it still did it. both were on plank floors. I built a bed on a clay foundation the other day but forgot to test the respawn there. Doing that at lunch.
  14. Yep there's been posts on this. The search tool is a great feature in forums
  15. it's a known issue in the bug thread. try destroying it with an axe or other tool instead. I had a couple pallets that were floating in the air after the update, they were in a boot print. had to destroy them as recycle would crash the game.
  16. i had to do similar. i had auto saves going back to July and wouldn't let me do a manual save. removing all the old saves (i left the last 2 just in case) fixed that for me. didn't change the save rate though. i like how that is, just gotta remember to delete old.
  17. just destroying the bed 'fixes' that. i put my bed on a clay foundation to test if it happens there, but then i forgot to die to test it out i'll do that at lunch today.
  18. that's odd, i also have X mapped to interact and swim down and it works just fine. guessing it's your save file and the new update glitching together. Try a new game and see if it works.
  19. i'm confused. how would packed dirt be stronger than packed clay? Nothing we build should be indestructible. I like the landscaping idea, and posted on this earlier to hopefully be implemented, if the game engine supports that.
  20. that would probably cause lag and crash issues on some systems. I think they're fine. quite easy to find and collect their fuzz when needed, 3 hits with a spear or 2 with larvae blade and they're dead. they don't live long enough to expand on their animations. I'd like to see more animations for the harder bugs though.
  21. Now that they've upgraded the item icons so they're easier to tell apart, i don't see a need for sorting. Maybe they could do it simple like alphabetical a-z and z-a options. keep it simple if they do this, opening it up to custom would probably be quite a task and hassle, especially since most of us probably have our own organization method.
  22. i think that would bring the risk of more bugs/glitches if these saves got outdated. like what we're seeing now with some games after patch. if they could do it in a way that those saves were auto-updated this might work.
  23. that's how i battle as well. open with arrows to bring them where i want to fight, then melee with the larvae dagger, ant club, or mint mallet, depending on the bug. I agree on the slow health regen, at least for a time. but if it's like i used to do with wolf spiders and try once or twice then say nah and go do something else, that spider should get full health back when i go do that something else, thus the timer for regen. It's a fantasy survival sim/arcade game. it shouldn't be realistic. Some realism is needed but it needs to remain more of the game than the sim.
  24. well said. I vote to bag this idea for the recycler.
  25. Mint is a conundrum. i think if the they fix the bug of the disappearing items the limited amount of mint will be fine. Then if they introduce Tier 4, i'd think they'd give us a recipe, or more mint to be found in the yard. If they added this repair idea they'd have to give more mint somehow. Or maybe we'll be forced to use judgement on using weapons, save the mallet for bosses and such, not swatting ants down in a swing or 2
