  1. I kinda like her gunslinging style, although I think the moves with the rifles are too over-the-top (the guns are okay because she fires with the other while playing with the other). Another thing I'm curious about is that, since she apparently doesn't need 'real' armor, her clothes seem to be really varied in color and form. I think her looks can change a lot between the different piece of clothing she can wear!
  2. Lucas will be chosen because he's so far the only pure melee character, and really classical. A lot of people like that, I'm not worried weither people will play him or not.
  3. I don't see what in that quote indicates that those farmlands are where the first game started .
  4. Funny, it looks like some previewers didn't quite get the "don't you dare talk about the two final classes or we will claw your eyes out" warning . According to that french preview, the two final characters are "a (male) rogue who prefers to use projectiles" and "an artificer (female) who focuses on guns and explosives". No word on their stances or names though :
  5. Hey, you gotta make use of those 10$ !
  6. AP wasn't dubbed anywhere. But it's a special case, the dialog system just didn't go well with dubbing. DS3 doesn't have cinematic dialog like AP, Mass Effect, Dragon Age. So expect dubbing.
  7. I think it's confirmed that there would be a mouse/keyboard control scheme. How it will work is anyone's guess. I thought a straight-forward 'all mouse' system woild be enough, but there aren't enough button on a mouse to replicate the for-each-button-a-power design of the pad. So keyboard keys are necessary, and that doesn't mix well with targeting and moving with the mouse. We will see I suppose.
  8. I watched one of the videos again, and apparently one of the characters will use a shotgun in one of her stances.
  9. Go for the intuitive and already done : the characters that are not used gain experience but they don't level up, like Neverwinter Nights 2.
  10. I like the consistency with Lord Gunderick's attacks : he is a former member of the Legion, and hence knows and uses the same Legion fighting style than Lucas . In a little bit more efficient for some of them, it seems. EDIT : I have a problem with one specific point : Buck said that only melee combat enables Anjali to refill her Will, which contradicts claims by the developer that all 'base' attacks refill the Will of a character (in Anjali's case while transformed, her fireballs). And I've looked at one of the multiple videos that are online right now, and I'm sure that I've seen Anjali refill her Will bar with attacks with her fireballs! So Nathaniel or anyone else, could you clear this up please?
  11. First thing first, let's check the date at which it was posted. March 10, it's new! I hope this means we will get Gamebanshee's preview soon too!
  12. Actually, most previews and hands-on probably were on PC builds. It's PC-specific controls and interface we know nothing about.
  13. And here Nathaniel had said that there were ten talents by character. Did that change since then, or do I remember it wrong? Anyways, nice stuff. The precisions about how the Defensive Stance works are really welcome, as well as the presence of Deeds. The game really is looking good.
  14. What are you talking about? He did give his honest opinion, he didn't shy away from it.
  15. Alright, it looks like french magazines and websites chose their side : members of the game journalism community are not happy with it. 12/20 at jeuxvideo.com, a website not particularly known for being a den of hardcore gamers. Chosen bits : "What Mass Effect 2 would have been like if it had missed the mark." "On the whole, it's not even on the level of Awakening, more like a big, uninspired DLC." "A serious challenger to Gothic 4 for the "worst slaughter of a franchise in the last few years" award." It felt like the reviewer at Canard PC didn't want to give less than 5, no negociations possible, even though his text screamed "It doesn't deserve average!". Latest post on the boards : "No need for negociations, the ending in itself deserves one less point. My God..."
  16. Canard PC (France) has not yet released their review (5 pages) but the Editor in Chief and the journalist who actually wrote the review spoiled the score and some of the focus points of the review. 5/10 and apparently Bioware 'defiled' its own franchise . Of notice is the Friendly Fire that you can only activate in Nightmare mode, a mode that is nearly unplayable because the enemies appear almost literally beneath the feet of the player. 80% of the side quests are Fedex quests worthy of a MMORPG.
  17. Something like Diablo 2 I think. Unlikely, since in Diablo 2 the amount of points you can put into a skill is almost limitless, while DS3 seems a lot more limited. I think we should think of DS3's multiplayer as centered around playthroughs instead of being centered around the characters.
  18. In single player, there is only one companion with you at any time, which also fits the fact that local co-op is limited to two players.
  19. I believe it was said in a older preview that the answer is "yes". A fill-in character is put in place, replaced later by the actual character in the game. I think.
  20. The build-on to that scene implies so much that she's going to rape him that you probably misremember it. Before the player gets to choose, she has already discarded her pants and is on top of Michael. One would think that at this point, his opinion doesn't matter anymore.
  21. Question : I thought Project Virginia was that canned project that is often talked by former employees, who often express their disappointement about the cancellation, because the game would have been AWESOME! Annie Mitsoda comes to mind, I think she talks about it in an interview on the Codex. If Virginia isn't that game, what am I confusing it with? And sadly for the completist within me, if that game stays on the XBLA, it will probably be an Obsidian game I will never play.
  22. She certainly isn't a feminist icone, that description goes better for Scarlet. Plus, I like to call her "Rambo on steroids", so she's not really feminine either. I like the way you describe her : she lives her life at the fullest, with hardly a care in the world, simply enjoying herself. Like Heck, she's a sort of outcast and definitely enjoys it. Her 'romance' stays in that theme too, she takes what she wants when she wants, no sentimentalism, just the present enjoyement. So yeah, not a feminist. A good thing she isn't too, because it would be way too caricatutal.
  23. The only thing that isn't quite clear is the 'mastery' of the abilities as you use them. Is it the 'powered' version that we can use from time to time, or do they get progressively more powerful as we use them?
  24. I concur to that question, and add "Did they learn who the other characters were?". According to one of the previewers, they learned everything there was to know about the coop.
