Got Risen in that Humble Deep Silver Bundle. It's like the beginning of the game and I'm forced to take sides or something? Christ they don't really put much effort to explain the factions so far (bandits good -- inquisition bad?). So far I'm unsure about my opinion of it.

Anyone looking forward to Tales of Xillia?

Shortly before my 360 bricked I enjoyed Vesperia. Though honestly the only jrpgs I'm looking forward to is FF XV and any english release by Falcom. -
I'm waiting to see how Dawn of War 3 will be handled with Sega calling the shots (them being Relic's owner and all).

Space is actually my main gripe with the old-school style ui designs. Though as a counterpoint to my original post i'd like to point out that configurable multi-component UI designs can be done horribly as well, see Everquest. Edit: I'm with you on the hotkey options.

For a 2014 game I'm not a fan of the PST/IWD style UI. I'd like the UI to be more minimalist in that its broken up into separate components that can be activated/deactivated at any given time. Edit: yes, I do realize its a mock up.

"XboxOne gives you a new, exciting way to watch TV!" For their sake I hope they have a solid backup selling point.

1) Governments spend money on pointless crap. Stuff that burdens the country with redundant infrastructure and lossmaking industries. Padded civil service pensions, fleets of unwanted obsolescent military aircraft, windfarms that cost money to run. Padded civil service pensions when the civil servants hired to do the jobs are some of the most inept people around. It certainly doesn't help that it's extremely difficult to fire these people in all but the most extreme cases. What's government in all its infinite wisdom propose to combat this problem? Hire more inept civil servants. -

Doesn't affect me in any way, haven't played a game by EA since..... DAII demo or ME2. Whichever came out first I forget.

Finished implementing search algorithms for my A.I. HW. Muh brain is fried.

I didn't pledge to the W2 kickstarter either, despite being tempted to. I might preorder the game before it comes out, wanna see what they do that UI first

Shoveled some snow, did some homework for my artificial intelligence class, emailed CD Projekt Red regarding a replacement CD key for my copy of the witcher 2.
-
Considering he laid of a bunch of staff not long after the kickstarter was announced and the fate of his company is lying on the campaign (which the deadline is 6 days away and not even 50% of the goal reached), I think that just may happen.

I'm ready for more Witcher after the amazement that AoK left me.

When I was younger I used to drink flavored water as a better alternative to soda (and as a way to transit into drinking mostly water). I still drink soda from time to time but for non-alcoholic beverages I'm drinking water probably 90% of the time.

Spent the entire day in class. I remember talking about how I was transferring out of my local community college into a state college/university sometime ago. Well I did that and starting this semester I attend Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. It's a pretty good place so far. I one main complaint so far is the commute, I was a rather last minute addition to the roster (admissions thought I didn't pay any processing fees when in fact I did, sent a shock through their offices so I'm told) so I wasn't able to rent an apartment for the semester. Commuting ~ two hours everyday is economically crippling for a student. Good news is I'm in the process of looking for an on campus job in the computer department to help with the expenses. My other complaint is it's located in the pine lands of NJ. To those outside NJ this means about 3-5 mins on the road once you leave the campus it turns into hicksville rather quickly. Upside is it's only 20 minutes from atlantic city.

... not gonna lie, the "mouth" of that mask looks like it belongs between a womans legs. I think everyone's noticed that So question everyone: what's the verdict on Baldur's Gate EE? Worth $20 or pass entirely?

I spent new years in bed with a head cold drugged up on nyquil. Hope that's not a sign of things to come in the new year

I'm going to have to echo everyone else in this thread and say it sounds like your dad is overreacting/exaggerating. Personally I think he needs to take a good long look in the mirror and have a "OMG I just realized I'm Tyler Durden" moment. Not that I'm qualified on giving advice in the matter of marital relationships, but honestly... it should be you and your family that you should be concerned with (that being, your wife and kids). If you're happy with the wife and kids, I think you shouldn't be all that concerned with what your dad thinks. Especially from what I've skimmed through it sounds like the problems lies with him. Strangely enough, he sounds a lot like my sister. Though I don't see us keeping in contact with one-another much in the future years (not that I'd complain mind you).

Been screwing around with Sublime text 2, am thinking it might be my new default text editor. Quick question for any programmers/devs in here: what's the point of mini-map in a text editor?
