What Are You Playing Now: The Other Thread

CoP is the best in the series, Clear Sky is meh, and SoC is great with the right mods. CoP has some great mods to but vanilla holds up best out of the bunch. Happy stalking, comrade :salute: -
Trump Lite, eh?

Only if there's no strong 3rd party candidate to challenge both him and the Democrats. Nothing is confirmed yet so I don't want to spill anything but we got something big coming if not this cycle then definitely next.

My horoscopes are becoming strangely accurate lately. I've always had a sort of vague/passive-but-not-important interest in them but lately they've kicked up a notch.

Yeah I used to think like that. You know, settling for a mid-ranged cpu overclocked as Hell. Worked great for a while but unfortunately modern games require more cpu juice, especially if your goal is 144fps 1440p max settings.

Just wait. Water cooling is about to be replaced. https://www.overclock.net/forum/246-air-cooling/1738546-icegiant-prosiphon-elite.html To be released just in time for the new Intel CPU's. Which is great because now I don't have to buy a new case with a 360mm radiator slot on the top. The drawback though being this massive block crowding up my case lol. Also as far as keeping your cpu cool, your motherboard matters significantly. Spending a little more on a decent board you can lower the voltage to get better temps.

God I really hope most of these tourists you're referring to aren't Americans. I'm trying to be optimistic for my country but familiar stuff like this near kills it!

Tried quitting smoking again. Can't say I'm pleased with it. Not because I'm mad craving a smoke or anything but now I am developing that condescending attitude where smokers smell and seem filthy when I was just literally there a day ago. *sigh* it's a no-win.

Eh, I'd say most parents with little kids who like electronic toys are people who grew up with a rapidly expanding gaming scene. I'm approaching mid-life now and I still remain astonished that people I grew up with are now sporting offspring that are approaching their teens, and many of these people were avid gamers like me when they were younger.

Spoken like a true optimist.

I don't live "there"...

I think it's safe to say that humans are a small part of nature sure, but we do have the intelligence and the know-how to make it better so why not utilize our energies to create a richer and safer environment for ALL living beings?

Not sure why I find F4 better than F3, I guess because it doesn't shy away from what it's trying to be, an open world shoot 'em up that focuses more on mechanics and physics than half-assed RPG mechanics. I always skipped the settlement building stuff because it simply doesn't interest me. Bethesda: Bloated budgets and some fun if you're willing to overlook the bad dialogue and cheesy markety gimmicks. However, I do have a feeling some of these so-called "HARDCORE RPG GAMARS" like Bethesda games more than they admit. -
Deadfire is a better Obsidian RPG than Outer Worlds
ComradeYellow replied to GraysonLevi's topic in Obsidian General
Unfortunately the market for games like PoE is rather small so naturally people will gravitate towards games like ToW due to their streamlined nature. There's really no other less blunt way to put it, gamers tend to feel comfortable in familiar territory before engaging in complex and nuanced questions such as plot, gameplay, character progression, etc. -
Resident Evil 2 Remake Absolutely solid remake of the original, some interconnectivity issues in regards to the A and B scenarios, lazily done but it's small potatoes when you look at it from a gameplay perspective. Metro Exodus It's Russian and jam packed with modern hardware requirements, what's not to love? Although I do try to shy away from post-apoc stuff because it kinda glorifies nuclear devastation to a degree and cements dangerous and unnecessary ideological differences. Really too bad about the bugs. Great and beautiful game right down to the nitty gritty, though, Stellaris All in all great and appropriate Paradox game. They all seem to suck me in for hours on end, and that's what a game is supposed to do. Keep it up, Nordic Ubermensch! The Outer Worlds Probably best RPG of the year, as the plot and characters are supberb, and the character building holds up. It's lack of budget shows unfortunately but with promised DLC upcoming perhaps a 1 or 2 year down the road GOTY edition will cement it to eternal glory (maybe I'm exaggerating but wouldn't it be nice?) Final Fantasy XV Love the open world, the graphics, the gameplay, and even the plot holds up despite some cheesey dialogue and some obvious rushed elements. Still, for a first wide open Final Fantasy in the post-modern graphics world it is a solid start so let's hope Sqeenix builds on it in the future. I'm sure there's many others but these are the most prominent.

Is it worth buying an Xbox One S at this stage?
ComradeYellow replied to BenjaminMason's topic in Computer and Console
I would wait until next gen consoles come out because all games will be backwards compatible with better hardware. But then again, people like me spends $thousands$ trying to eek on FPS on a PC that sometimes I forget that games are supposed to be for enjoyment and not a statistics test. 1 fps is a tragedy, 1 million fps is a statistic har har har. So yeah, if gameplay is your number 1 priority, do it up, or else wait for better much graphics and load times (next gen consoles will carry SSD drives, finally). -
All successful modern countries have some form of state enterprise for those who can't make it in the private sector. I don't see Democrats and Republicans going away any time soon and they are both pretty avidly anti-socialist so sticking a third party in there that offers a sound alternative would benefit everyone, even private industries as they would be forced to compete and offer better business solutions. Everyone wins! Also better education/healthcare is ranked as a positive most everywhere. Perhaps we don't have to go universal but those employed in either sector should be offered better benefits in that regard. Sure, I may be a little troll-y in my Gommunism, but in reality I'm like 1/3 Gommunist at best! xD The problem is the American right, they are absolutely convinced that anything "social" is absolute evil, Wall Street is in full force pumping out anti-Marxist propaganda and there's no shortage of idiots here who gobble it right up. Which could lead to a Civil War-esque clash very soon... There's literally nothing wrong with being environmentally conscience and producing conservation sectors that help preserve nature. It's not only better for the plantet but better for humans as well.

It doesn't matter though. In my opinion, if Bernie was meant to win, he would have done so in 2016, and I think he didn't win for a good reason: He's a Democrat. Anyone who joins the 2 major parties is not going to shake up the system. Look what happened to Barry, you want President Steve Bannon in 2024?
-
They are all Democrats so don't vote Democrat if the issue is really that strong for you. Personally, I'm more concerned with the planet, rising fascism (which we fought in WW2, lest not forget!), and inequality than gun control, so I shalt remain pro 2nd Amendment at least until these issues are resolved.
-
It's what's on the inside that counts. The only thing I know of the next consoles is that they're finally sporting SSD drives and PS4 is using AMD's (decent) Navi architecture so they're already miles ahead of current gen.
-
That would be classified as a "farce", yes. Karl Marx +1 Anywho, how about some more Fake News from Russian State Sponsored sources
-
Nobody with a brain took Calexit seriously. Also, I don't recall anyone claiming they want to come to your home and take your guns, there is a 2nd amendment after all and I've already stated my person view on gun control which is quite modest by left wing standards. And there's more to life and the world around you than living bunkered in a shack out in the woods armed to the teeth. That's a very reactionary viewpoint.
-
I always thought the idea of another one was a joke until early 2017 when it hit me like a **** ton of bricks that it was probably inevitable. Well, as Marx said, history repeats itself first as a tragedy then as a farce. I wonder the cost of human life this "farce" would be... However, just as Lincoln and the Republicans concluded that Southern States were an important part of the union and had to be reunited, I'm sure the Blue+Green coalition will also conclude that the Red Party is also a necessary part of the countries political spectrum. Which I do agree with, I may not be overfond of right wingers but I consider them necessary to keep the cog wheels of our country running at top shape.

Freedom of religion is in the Constitution and billions of people DO practice it so downright outlawing it isn't the answer. The best bet for progressives is to lead by example, show people an alternative non-dogmatic socio-economic approach to living and governing and let the pieces fall where they may.
