  1. It's little bit more expensive, but there are loads of games for PS3 already available, and more and more are scheduled to release this and next year... Yes Xbox might have more games, but i'd love to see one person who played all of them... You buy console and 5 - 10 games per year and you are set (if you dont buy ****ty games ) @Krezack If you can afford it , buy Wii, PS2, PS3 I do own Wii and PS2, and trying for a year to make my girlfriend believe that PS3 is vital component in the household... i fail misserably at that anyone has some good strategies up for that?
  2. Dont think that next StarCraft part will be released before next WarCraft part http://www.starcraft2.com/faq.xml#trilogy I know about trilogy, but its all StarCraft 2... i was talking more about SC3 or SCMMO...
  3. Dont think that next StarCraft part will be released before next WarCraft part
  4. Blackthorne turned out alright. I would laugh my ass off if the new unannounced Blizz game will be Blackthorne 2
  5. Compared to Czech version the English voiceover of W3 was godly!!! I played Czech version for 15 minutes then sold it and imported UK version...
  6. Interesting. Yes that could be interesting solution to Online Activation, but FTC is USA only
  7. Biggest bug i encountered in Daggerafall was when i tried to do Dark Brotherhood quests... i ended up killing lot of innocent people but my reputation jumped very very positive to the city guards
  8. some article about ECA jumping into DRM discussion organized with FTC. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/03/halpin.ars
  9. As much as i love Blizz game gameplay (except ubereasy piece of cake called WotLK), i do not believe they can make very good stories... They are good at what they do, they make a mediocre story and wrap around awesome gameplay with games almost without bugs (not countng WoW, but i more likely score with Jessica Alba, than anybody makes bugfree MMO)
  10. If you like Blizzards voiceacting, then you are happy that you never played WoW... Most of the bosses in BC and WotLK have such bad voiceacting, i am actualy wondering how it is possible to get paid for that kind of "effort"
  11. I bet you will never see LA and EA games on GoG... it's not in their bussiness strategy... Hm? It would fit GOG, but maybe you meant is isn't LA's and EA's strategy. Yes, that's exactly what i meant
  12. I bet you will never see LA and EA games on GoG... it's not in their bussiness strategy...
  13. I played it long time ago, but never finnished, from what i can say the whole concept/idea around the story was nice... Can't tell you much direct about story because at one point i just was unable to continue the game and at that time i was without internet so didn't have access to any walkthrough and i think i was unable to finnish more than 10% of the game
  14. Yeah those 3 page manuals are awesome and getting a game from Steam is more convenient to me than having to install from multiple DVDs. To each their own, I guess. Not for me... i get my DVDs by post and install them sooner than to download it from any digital download and with EU steam prices which are 10+ EUR higher than boxed games, i am not gonna bother with it... and i dont buy **** games with no story without manuals anyway Good games usualy have good manuals aswell...
  15. if i can't have game with manual and dvd in hand i ain't paying single dime for it I dont have problems with ad-supported games for free...
  16. yes it is badass DRM, but wth, if they make it for the same price as Quake Live, i'll go with it
  17. i bet, that was the original reason to put that **** on DVDs in a first place...
  18. Yes i am sure... and you dont need to buy VGA box http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hama-SCART-To-VGA-...e/dp/B0002W69MY and i bet there is much cheaper option to that
  19. Only japanese and NA 20GB and 60GB models were hardware BC, the older EU 80GB versions are software BC but the newest 80GB EU models and all other aswell are not BC anymore iirc... worldwide 40GB were never BC compatible... EDIT: There are some converters with which u can connect Component cable to DVI in monitor. You will need few more cables to connect the Audio output to your stereo aswell There are some Component to HDMI reductions/converters aswell if your LCD does have HDMI in... You just have to make a little bit of research on it, because not all of them can convert analog to digital signal... EDIT2: Another option is to use the PS2 Scart cable, buy Scart Coupler and scart to vga reduction... that should work, but you'll get lower resolution and lower image quality... and some LCDs are unable to handle that low resolutions... I for example can't play PS1 games on my LCD through Component cable due to low resolution on them...
  20. And another proof that DRM fails http://www.dailytech.com/Obamas+Gift+to+Br...rticle14660.htm
  21. Best way is imo go to the community support forum of your Distro... You dont get much help on gaming forums about linux, 90% of people are windows only, with very low knowledge about any other OS...
  22. Sony never released 60GB BC compatible PS3 in europe, and some 80GB released in Europe are without BC aswell afaik... So watch out if you wanna trade in... The easiest way to play ps2 games is to buy PS2, even new are cheap as hell, but you dont get the upscaling
  23. Um yeah, I think you missed your shot. Most things are tied to a server these days... Nope... only minority of the stuff released today is tied to the server... That is not true if you are only EA or Steam customer As great as it would be to have everything DRM-free, I don't see the industry going that way. At least not yet, Ubisoft is making a nice start, though. Dont count only PC gaming but gaming in general, you dont need online activation for most of the console and handheld games
