  1. I bought redneck rampage from GOG recently and it played very well in Vista. Have you tinkered with the way DosBox handles CPU cycles? I'm assuming that you have a decent computer since DB needs to emulate Dos and as such needs more than the original games did.
  2. None of the companions survived long with me. They would usually do something really stupid and get shot up/ blown to pieces.
  3. I'm pretty sure that Llyr was right back up there. Wiki is your friend.
  4. @Gorth They release another ten each day. Your memory does fail you since Rome has the better ice cream.
  5. "I'm sorry but the best ice cream shop is in Firenze not Rome, and is managed by a guy who always looks like someone just killed his pet." rome ice cream shop > firenze ic ecream shop R00fles!
  6. I too was disapointed by the minigun. Grenades is where it's at though most overpowered VATS weapon.
  7. The noise annoys me until I'm fully into the game.
  8. I just followed the highway north. Directions are the wrong thing to play bethesda games for.
  9. Heh, there really are tons of those in the game.
  10. Do explain this, I haven't read the review fully, but it seemed to list all the really horrible flaws that I found when playing the demo.
  11. Funcom might not have officially decided that the sequel is coming, but Ragnar T
  12. If you are on the internet and you're not complaining, then you are not doing it right! Ok. The best Ice cream shop is in Rome and I'm furious with all the other ice cream shops because they're not as good as the one in Rome! In fact I'm going to boycott all other ice cream shops until they're as good as the one in Rome. That'll show them!
  13. I'm trying out quake live and I'm number 10000 in the queue.
  14. You aren't really telling me anything. How was BG showing the FR in a specific way? What specific way? As I remember BG had plate armour galore, log cabins in every frikking wood and supposedly medievalish cities that looked suspiciously modern. I'll admit that I remember the BGs as leaving more of an impression, but I'd much rather put that down to a seemingly higher quality art and the very good use of sounds and music to set scenes that seemed very traditionally lighthearted high fantasy. Surely I wasn't the only one staying a couple of minutes longer in the taverns and marketplaces to hear the music and try to make out the half-muffled sounds? DA? I watched the trailer recently and the only thing I remember was the improbably sized holy grail knockoff that is almost certainly ceremonial in some inane way. Looking at it again I'd definately say that the dark horde guys (they seem to be the ones inducing ever so much nerd entropy) remind me much more of The forsaken in WoW than anything at all from LotR. I can't really see that DA is more of a muddle than BG in any way but one, and that one has nothing to do with LotR, or anything else that has been mentioned. DA does seem to be suffering from a syndrome, that certain types of gamers like to identify as dark games syndrome. The name fits DA as little as it fits the other games that get accused of "being too dark", since it isn't dark, but is just genuinely boring and bland. Why are we using mostly earthy colours again? BG wasn't exatly 'pretty in pink' but you don't have to search long to find bright red or yellow colours. Or am I just not noticing them in the trailer? This is a cool artstyle that fits a dark game: Having light colours doesn't make the game 'not dark'. This argument itself is pretty inane though since Bio have only ever impressed me with its art in Jade Empire and that must be judged to be mostly a fluke. Hopefully the actually tactical combat in BG weren't the same.
  15. It exists now because of the good people who make advertising.
  16. Are you actually willing to argue this point?
  17. Get a better dictionary. Has anyone mentioned that Big Huge Games claims (since 2007 so it might have changed) to be making an RPG that will be released in 2009? It has the tag "A Ken Rolston design" ( lead designer on Morrowind and Oblivion), I'm not sure whether that is good or bad.
  18. There are english voice actors and I didn't find them particularly good, but others might have other opinions. I honestly can't even remember the music so it can't have made much of an impression. You should try the demo as the visuals, the audio and the controls are stuff that it shows quite well. If only it let me try the combat and the skill system properly.
  19. Who would design the questions? We all have different ideas about which values are important in a voter and which factual questions would show interest or disinterrest. The basic problem of the idea of meritocracy is that noone can define merit in a way that makes everyone happy, not even the mreit to decide merit. No, definately not. We measure our politicians by popularity and popularity isn't inherently bound to merit in any way. @Enoch This?:
  20. They are removing one key aspect of exploration: find enough health to stay alive. There's no reason to do that in an exploration game. You never had that to start with since medkits were more than plentiful in Deus Ex. Personally I think there are far worse decisions than the regenerating health question (which I'm against for other reasons), like the graphics and some other things I'm forgetting.
  21. Hideo Kojima? Really? Also woooooooo Avellone wooooooo! Whaaat? There is also a notable lack of Tornquist. @Morgoth I'd imagine that Gaider couldn't be on since he hasn't released a large work since... BG:ToB or something?
  22. Read the spoiler I posted up there. I wouldn't be surprised if you only need to specialize in two magics (igni + another) to be able to win the game.
  23. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/...vion?q=oblivion lol I love it when I hit the nail on the head.
  24. I find it ironic, given Steam is essentially a form of DRM. Yep. In fact, I far prefer SecuROM, when it does not have online activation and limited installs (when it does not have these two 'features' I don't actually mind SecuROM at all), to Steam, which always has online activation. I find it funny since you guys are missing the point. Steam is technically a DRM, but more importantly it is a service that allows users to get their crack in an easier fashion than the regular method of retail stores do. Also, while I love Valve's gloating, I highly doubt that the steam method is going to save PC gaming.
