  1. This be truth. This is destined. I don't know about bad sales, but I know quality. This game has it. It will have a glorious legacy. Hallelujah!
  2. I think the problem with that is that currently all food of the same type stack, even if they have been picked up at different times and different values. Abydon's challenge works around this but separating stacks of equipment with different enchants is already baked into the game. Rymrgand's challenge would have to upend the inventory system around food, and I doubt Obsidian is interested in doing that kind of legwork just for an optional extra that like 1% of players will use. Ah, but even if food of the same type stack and the stack-expiration date gets renewed, the stack must have an expiration date somewhere as it expires *at some point*. All I'd like is for this value to be visible in some form.
  3. The quote "No sleep for the watcher" means that being a watcher makes you mad. Adaryc was only a watcher, afraid of becoming mad. Maerwald was both a watcher and awakened, gone mad. Aloth is only awakened, not mad. I like the argument. My take on it is a bit of both, that yet doesn't really fit. Maerwald is not only a watcher and awakened. He's also awakened with several violent personalities. No wonder the guy goes bonkers. You (The Watcher) and Aloth only seem to have one other "passenger". Aloth have Iselmyr and you have your old-school redeemed traitor playing you 8 bit recordings of a single previous life. The difference between you and Aloth is primarily that you are a watcher, while he is not. Aloth also seems stable enough to co-exist with Isemyr for an extended time since childhood. It is stated that you will go crazy with time. So it might be the mix. Being awakened and a watcher will make you misplace your feces. Which we fix by the end of POE1, as we all know.
  4. Whenever you get the choice in conversations about the cycle of life and death with her, go for winter, dark, death, endings and reaping. Avoid telling her about rebirth and springtime after winter. Basically, go emo and reaping, avoid any reference to The Lion King, sowing seeds and the cycle of life.
  5. Thanks guys. I'm going streetfighter. I cannot ruin my immersion by speculating in using specific gear for specific encounters and I can't be a cipher as Serafen is so clearly designed to be one. Besides I love Wild Mind. It's the best joker in the game.
  6. I think what Frak is asking is if Nalpazca monks still suffer the Nalpazca crash debuff after AD expires. Yep. Got the answer. They do suffer "Burden of the Soul" after being dampened. Hmm, so either spam drugs in those fights or choose another (sub)class. Choices, choices.
  7. All depends. I find pork to be boring. Deer meat is nifty. ;-) But I also prefer white chocolate, so my preferences might be weird.
  8. So the monk avoids the -100% debuff to healing after expiration and only suffer the crash effects?
  9. The official opinion from selected serial killers is that humans taste like pork. So there you go, you can now skip the research. https://www.theguardian.com/science/the-lay-scientist/2010/sep/05/human-meat-taste-cannibal Have a like! Not because I agree and like the taste of human meat, but I like your research. Excuse me, now I have to go vomit. *some appropriate smiley*
  10. I keep re-rolling my first char. I want to do a singleclass nalpazca run, but get the impression that certain enemies will bug-shut him down with Arcane Dampener leading to drug crash. I assume this bug still exist? Or is patched?
  11. I like to write, so I'll give you my lowdown on Troubador. The Troubador is all about adapting songstyle to the flow of battle. Default, by having longer linger, you get more overlap between two phrases. This means you can plan for a passive double (de)buff of some kind (f. Extra damage by running Soft Winds and Dragon Thrashed), Extra defense (mental and body with resistance phrases) or double healing (With Ancient Memory and some other healing phrase). More passive stuff happens. Then there is the modal. The modal is for when you want to build up phrases fast for invocations. So you forego the linger and the double stacking. This is about pumping out those summons, roars, songs as soon as possible. That's what the troubador is for. Hustle and flow.
  12. Now I want a community pet with the Berserker class' abilities, triggered by bloodied Kith. Chihuahua named pickles... I would argue that "berserker dog" sounds more like a dachshound to me. Maybe I'm biased
  13. Just tested Rymgands Challenge. I don't know if it's a bug or intended, but a running countdown on the food you have would be nice. It doesn't help me much that a certain food spoils in 7 days if I can't remember when I got it. 3 days -> 2 days -> 1 day -> 12 hours, I can use.
  14. Some more elaboration on why I find engagement point to be "interesting". In the beginning sea cave. Coming from the north, going south after having killed the construct. Triggering the lone skeleton on the south. He runs north towards us and engages a bit northward into the north-south tunnel. Dies fast Combat state persists. Seems we pulled something more. Moves a bit southwest in preparation. Sure thing. We also triggered the 2 skeletons with guns, the revenant and the rotghast from the east. Here's the kicker. Eder and MC is clearly in sight (to the west), yet both skellies, revenant and rothghast insists on moving north to the point where we engaged the previous skeleton, before acknowledging our presence. It's like they are programmed to go to that specific spot as a first priority. Had the same occurene with pulling far-off mobs in Gorecki Street. They will seek out point of first engagement, before engaging in combat. Very strange.
  15. Currently I run pure classes. My first char was a skald on POTD upscale. I went through Neketaka with him before re-rolling due to RP reasons. It's doable. I didn't notice crits (Human. Had I run as hearth orlan they would have been more), but invocations definately became more readily available later on. Ofc I specced for it. Rapier, single handed. Modwyr and Mins Folly. Conclusion. It works. It's slightly boring, decent off-tanky, but it works.
  16. "We have many animals on offer, all well-trained and eager for kith meat." "I'd like to return these pets. When I wake up from sleep I find them sitting in a circle around my bed. Watching me intensely. And salivating."
  17. Preferably in the HQ of your least favorite faction. "Sooo, you're a paladin? And you just put corrupted kith meat in the larders of some innocent people? What are you? The emo'est of the Bleak Walkers?"
  18. Aggro ranges for mobs? Are those fixed?
  19. That's too bad. I love it. I love the pirate-theme. I love that I (most likely) in the future have to choose a faction. I love The Defiant. I love having a base like the Defiant. I love my cabin. I love the pets. I love the crew, every one o them. Even that scary cook with the alternative recipe for kith. I love the island-hopping. I love the voice acting, I love the smart comments (being an orlan and getting the commentary "he was so small" from a druggie with the retort "well, you're a dwarf", "I am?") and the dialogue. I love how the running animation is more fluid. I love the clothing, the graphics, the combat, the gone-baby-gone health bar fro POE1. I love the shanties. I love the -ing gods, those ****ers. It's a shame you didn't like it. I would like for more people to like the game, as good sales would make POE3 more likely. But I love it! To me this is heaps better than POE1. This POE goes to 11! Edit: Oh yeah. I forgot the companions. You can probably guess how I feel about those. Except Pellagina! She needs to be feathered and tarred. Valians are the worst.
  20. Seems to 'work' if you let the beetles see you and then pull them west before engaging. I get the impression it's about where engagement starts.
  21. The dark tone of the first was one of the best parts, because it was something you were up against. Pillars 1 Eder is also one of the best voices to bounce perspectives off of in an RPG. Two of the best parts of the first diluted... I actually have to defend Deadfire’s Eder here, because I really liked his dialogues with Eothas and conversations about gods in general. You could really feel this anger of a regular person who realised the truth behind Eora’s powers. Very French Revolution, Occupy etc. vibe to it and I think it’s important perspective to imagine how most folk will react once they see that the emperor is naked. Everything, from his very first dialogue about Berath’s mission, via his personal quest and to ending slides is very coherent, very believable and well done. It shows how a simple farmer/soldier can reevaluate his beliefs and it made me kinda proud to help lead him this way (you know, Scholar/Sage/Rational disposition). I don’t know how is he on the „believer” path but I couldn’t yet bring myself to play as a godly person; for now it’s just various iterations of atheists for me. Seconded. For me Deadfire Edér is simply experienced enough to know the gods are fallible and that the world is imperfect. During Palleginas personal quest he has one comment to a choice you have to make, that tells me everything about him.
  22. Seems to be a bug with latest patch. It happens from time to time that extra mobs nearby are also pulled. Unless it's a new thing where sounds of fighting attracts them.
  23. You get loot also when sinking ships. I'm not sure whether you get the same amoun of loot. I would imagine it to be less ('cause sinking), but haven't verified OP: The advantage to softening them up with cannons is that, if you injure them (and their surgeon) you will face less when boarding.
