The way that Wall of Draining extends effects shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone this long after the game has been released? It's not like we're finding out something new ref potions, or are we? When I tried it vs doru, he killed me too fast still - but I think I was also multiclicking Unbending, which as we've discovered gets rid of the stacks. I've been to lazy to respec to a build just to fight him, but I suppose I'll tackle it some time. Let us know how it goes.

In its favor you have to admit that a ranged Death Ring beats the PBAOE of the evoker/wiz, but agree that evoker gets more from missiles (should do anyway, esp. with empower) and more defensive/buffs. Worth testing. EDIT: I think it has to be no-subclass Wiz or other Wiz, as evoker can't use conjuration which includes death ring. If you go non-evoker you also can use phantasm to increase your dps.
  3. At least for me on upscale potd at the hasongo lighthouse, multi jump death ring from arcane archer (with 20 arcana) was not decimating the mobs..... Maybe it's a fort save thing or the scaling issue AA still has, but it definitely was not an instant win button. Same with Flooded Cave.
  4. nobody has a mod to make in-city / out-of-city travel speed faster? given there's not fast travel? e.g., from one end of Queen's Berth map to Wild Mare, and you have to auto-run....

Let me know if you can't access it.

Resting removes "temporary" buffs (esp. those that you can only get once per playthrough) like Nature's Resolve and the ones from the alchemy pool at Outcast's Respite and the Dawnstar's Blessing (+heal) from Port Maje, and I think shrines (and some shrines compete with food buffs). The no-rest runs are done to maintain and stack all those temporary buffs. You can easily play without them (esp with full party). Just be aware.
  7. Trying to get a pesky last achievement, to max negative rep with a companion. My game does not have cheats enabled. However, resting at a shrine with Pallegina in party doesn't seem to be having consequences - a Google search showed that this used to be the fastest way. Did something change? Any fast tips to max negative rep for the achievement?
  8. I tried searching here, Google, nexusmods ... are their any mods to increase out-of-combat movement speed including running thru towns and moving through open landscape? Ships movement too if that's also possible?
  9. Thanks. I guess I will try to see. Note (sad panda) that one enchanted armor suit that gives the crimson armor in FS, when you take its necklace, did kill me several times - largely when it summoned its enchanted weapons, which always seem to hit for a lot of damage (same with the vithrak luminaries that summon them). The armor itself wasn't as bad, though it has 1 attack that hit me for like 227hp dmg and killed me outright since I wasn't at 100% health .... lol. I was asking because I solo'd Neri (dragon) at end of Beats of Winter last night, and I couldn't get Unbending to stack really high even clicking it several times .... it was always around a paltry 8-25hp. Maybe the walls were wearing off too quick. From having to cast walls constantly, plus chillfog every 20-30 secs to keep flank, plus keep up arcane reflection etc, it was a very slow fight - largely me wearing her down over time with combusting wounds, wall of fire, and occasional phantom summons. Shrug. She killed me first time. Second time I got her. Voidward seemed to help 2nd time.

What saved me was Arcane Reflection and using combusting wounds / wall of fire / Chillfog on the sigils, and keeping Sigilmaster distracted by a repeatable summon as I took out the sigils 1 by 1. And yes this only works with some way to renew the resources on your wizard, like Brilliant from a chanter. I'm sure there are other ways.
  11. One of the advantages of ranged vs. Hellfire boss, as far as I can tell, is that you're not subject to his Cleave attack that reduces your max HP. When you melee him, it tends to hit you (have to see if that deflection build above can do better), and then even if the attack doesn't do much damage, it leaves you at like 50% or less of your max HP as your new max (I think it stacks). Meaning that even with higher AR and stacked healing, he can still kill you a lot easier with 1-2 hits. At least that's what I've seen. As for the deflection stacking, the trade-off is accuracy -- having to stack accuracy gear to be able to hit him reliably vs. deflection gear to protect yourself (accuracy penalty/manlus of large shield, deflection bracers vs. greater reliability / accuracy, etc). Curious to see people's builds as they get refined. Chanter (herald) has tools to self buff on various fronts, which is what makes it so powerful, outside of carrying some potions/scrolls. Keep up the good planning!
  12. Man, you put "monk" or "herald" in a post and *everyone* responds .... Lesson learned. Let's say you had a monk/herald who happened to be able to cast Wall of Draining and Unbending ...

When stacking Unbending (Trunk) with Wall of Draining on a battlemage, does it give more health faster if you keep clicking on Unbending multiple times (e.g., every time you cast a new Wall) -- or is it the same net benefit (accumulated health recovery) if you just keep casting Walls after the orignal Unbending click?
  14. "Blood-Stained Hands" self-damage debuff (+x% damage *taken*) from The Red Hand persists and affects character even if Red Hand not equipped in any weapon slot, active or other. Shows in combat logs. This is probably a relic of when the damage *buff* also persisted if the weapon wasn't equipped/active ... but it hardly seems fair / working as intended to have a permanent damage debuff if the weapon isn't equipped even in a non-active slot, given you only get the damage *buff* (+x% damage *dealt*) if the weapon is active-equipped? Sure I could rest, but it's a no-rest run ....
  15. Annoying fact: the damage self-debuff works *all the time* -- even w/o Red Hand equipped as active weapon slot, I see the +10% damage-taken item (Blood-Stained Hands) in my combat log. It basically cancels out Cadhu Scalth. I wish I had known this before my no-rest run as I would have avoided leveling up the +dmg/self-dmg of Red Hand until I could have upgraded it to avoid the self damage. Oh well, now I'm stuck with it. Can't rest or all the no-rest buffs go away ... Really I could see the damage-taken self-debuff counting only if you have Red Hand equipped as active weapon. Oh well.
  16. AOE kills the little spiders pretty quick. You can block the narrow path to the entrance with 1-2 toons who can stand up to taking some hits and then AOE the spiders from behind them ... I used stacked Chillfogs and things like Combusting Wounds, Ninagauth Pillar ...
  17. I killed Sigilmaster too, after finally deciding to do it the right way by taking out the sigils (though I didn't know the wall of draining thing when I did it, though obviously fewer mobs). I nearly killed her 2x before without destroying sigils, but I couldn't power thru the unreletting barrage when she's near death - it kept eating through my Arcane Reflection in like 5 secs. I don't want to spend 1 hr on Doru, so I'll wait for someone to explain how to do it in 10-15 mins haha ..

It's a +2 CON blessing from the shrine near Nekataka (same island). https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Teo_Ramunga I think there are 3 shrines (Nek, Crookspur, and Poko) - each give a bonus but I think you can only have 1 active at a time as praying a 2nd time causes a rest (I think - I couldn't pray at Poko w/o losing bonuses).   19. I did kill it solo as tactitian/bloodmage. But prepare for 1 hour fight . can you post your build? what abilities do you use and also how will you gain flank on him to gain brilliant? (effigys? phantom mage skill?). Also do summons count as allies so you don't get the penalty from tactician? Summons do count as allies and you can spawn your phantasm behind the mob (close) to get it to engage and to flank, in general. No idea about the megaboss tho.
