It's called manners, sarcasm and wit. You've never heard of a line like "My good friend Mc****face, who I'm about to kill..." Besides, you always have a choice to be super affectionate when talking with Colcelhaut's skull. Maybe it's a one-sided friendship! :D it just seemed odd that if it were sarcasm, you'd actually give Concelhaut the body, since that seems like a pretty nice thing to do for him.

I'm going to say this here given it's the SPOILER WARNING forum: I saw one of the choices at the end of Forgotten Sanctum lets you use Wael's body as a weapon to stop Eothas, and that theoretically (it was reported) this changes one of the ending slides for the game. Can someone explain in more detail what happens? Are we actually able to stop Eothas from destroying the wheel at the end of the vanilla game? Or does it happen anyway, and he just get beat down after that (I figured his adra body got destroyed in the finale anyway). One of my gripes about Deadfire from a plot standpoint is that basically Eothas is a jerk to you the whole time and you have no real way to impact what he's doing. Hopefully someone can shed more light on the new outcomes. Thanks! One other point -- I saw one of the other ending FS choices was to give Wael's body to "my friend" (the Watcher's friend) Conchelhaut. Since when is he the Watcher's friend? Doesn't he attack you at Berkana's Observatory regardless of what you do? And lastly - can someone explain how/why Wael even has a giant body that somehow ended up underground and is made of flesh? Is it his body from before he became a god? if so, why is it so big?

Believe they nerfed the spiritual weapon fist stacking with Monk fists ... but besides that, should still be OK. I really don't know why everyone whined about it being so overpowered ... It wasn't the be-all/end-all vs. other taking advantage of game mechanics like the Electric Dyslexic build or even no-rest runs. I mean, hey it wasn't like you were One-Punch Man smacking down dragons and the entire VTC. For the casual player, in a single-player game, it didn't seem like a big deal to me. But hey, it got nerfed, so there's that.

Can you explain more about your Phantom comment? It counters the penalty by doing attacks/damage itself (really offsetting your penalty) or in some other way? Also if you have a solo POTD or even Veteran build for Tactician/Wiz, please share. I worry about deflection and getting overwhelmed, especially as in Beta at least, pulling a few mobs ended up always pulling all mobs.. I'm still hoping for a reply to my questions above ....

Yep. The heal effect works just like Sneak Attack and couples well with Rogue. It only works with melee attacks. I used it on a sage and on a pally/wiz mc, both of whom were giving afflicted in AOE with either debuffs (like noxious burst) and/or using the Draconic Fury spell (which fears enemies and counts). On POTD scaling, I was only seeing heals in the 9-15 range per hit - which even in AOE wasn't enough to keep me alive in larger fights where I got surrounded by enemies. In fact in some larger fights the healing was less, perhaps due to lower damage. I wasn't impressed enough to want to roll a SG pally over a different subclass. Maybe on a rogue that can deliver higher damage attacks it would be OK, but I still thought it quite poor vs Pally heal aura, or even Blood Mage self regen ticks.

I was messing around with Wild Barrage on an arcane archer test build, with driving flight -- so theoretically each Imbue shot bounced 4 times (I think) -- but it didn't seem that impressive at the end of the day. not sure why. the 30sec or so window to attack with Wild Barrage was nice, but the 2x/rest (I think) limitation was a drag (lots of resting). Returning to the topic at hand, any good up-to-date solo POTD builds for ciphers?

??? What? Since when has this been in the game? Can you mule dlc items and get them early in another game save cheating like this? not like it really matters given you can use console commands to the same end, except that doing it via imports probably doesn't disable achievements -- but since this is solo player, no harm done I suppose

Wow, playing since launch and didn't even know this Barati guy existed or gives bounties /facepalm ... living and learning. I basically though the 2nd floor of the palace was put there just to give you people to kill late game if you're bored. Always annoyed you have to use it to get down from the Rooftop too -- can't find a way to get from rooftop off the palace map directly.

Dump might and Dex, pump Resolve, Int, Per and leave Con at 10+? Without stacked Resolve can you get Def to the level you need to solo PoTD? Does Refreshing Defense stack with Wizard def buffs? How does Wiz avoid the acc/pen penalty for not attacking targets of allies, if solo? Or just ignore it? Is it really all worth it just to try to get Brilliant insp on yourself?

Great feedback. While Unbroken comes with +1 armor, it's engagement bonus probably isn't that useful solo, nor its +10 acc on disengagement attacks? Plus you get a -15 reflex penalty? Wouldn't the extra Pen from Devoted be more in line with solo POTD (and if I'm not mistaken, Devoted can use Unarmed without penalty for crush damage etc.). There was some good discussion of solo POTD with Goldpact/* in this thread: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/105898-class-build-bloodsail-the-pirate-paladin/?hl=bloodsail However it's a little out of date, hopefully someone will update.

If you can cast friendly spells like Amp Wave on the totem, that would be pretty slick. If the Frenzy totem bonus gets applied to your own frenzy as said above, I assume that makes for some fast casting even with longish Cypher spells. Could be cool to check out. Not sure if solo build is doable, but could make for any interesting MC build for Cypher. If anyone has ideas with stats / gear, worth posting. Thx.

How would you build these, how much micro is involved? Well Ranger/Paladin now can rise it defense/accuracy against 1 enemy type, this mean that you can start each fight with 120+ defenses even without any gear, with shield and cape, you can rise defenses to 150+ and stop all enemies crits + Ranger get you +50 passive accuracy - which usually mean 50%+ crit rate + Ranger get you summon which can set flanked status + Ranger get you ability to clear all beneficial effects You don't need any micro, you don't need no-rest rust, you need only prepare yourself for boss battle that all Paladin/Ascendant - Work same, but without +30 acc bonus, you can do no-rest run, just dominate everything and disintegrate bosses Is this Ranger/Paladin build still viable? If yes, I'd love to see a build. I've never been able to find a Ranger/* build I like. And I've been looking for a solo POTD buid.

You can do that, but the Fonferus can't be upgraded and will have slow travel/attack speed. Meh, it still has the cannon and crew capacity of a galleon, as well as hull durability of an (un-upgraded) one. Was a huge upgrade over my sloop overall and more then enough to beat the enemy ships. Bonus points for the nice fog effect that it creates. And its FREE! Weren't they going to fix the submarine so it can be upgraded - or am I thinking of a mod I saw? I know it's not the Fonferrus, but it was another unique ship.

I was underwhelmed by the heals coming off Steel Garrote Paladin ability on PoTD once I got outside Port Maje ... running around at level 20 smacking things, I was getting very low heals from afflicted targets. My might was only around 10-12 I think, which maybe is affecting it, but it was majorly underwhelming on PoTD on an Arcane Knight with spirit lance. Made me think Steel Garrote wasn't worth it. A Fighter with Refreshing Defense and Unbending (and Constant Recovery) might be better?
