  1. If it is auto-hit with no chance to resist, that's kind of absurd. Especially when it is used against player.
  2. this is pretty much like victor creed's build isn't? (raven and victor are the same) but props to you for using minoletta's piercing burst though! that's something new. Yeh i pretty much followed his comments on here (didn't watch his stream tho), and then blended in some ideas from the Electric Dyslexic build. I figured out that once Doru gets to about half-health, you can really start to ease up on the wall draining and start pounding him with hammers and piercing burst (which ignores armor). I'm also using a lot of crit jewelry and some items for the weapon like greater reliability gauntlets (also his tip). But the piecing burst damage is like 2x-3x what i can get from the Crushing Dooms and weapon hits, and with Brilliant you can just spam it: burst-burst-wall or burst-burst-hammer Can't figure out how not to get cleansed and killed by Sigilmaster (sigil of cleansing) tho, and I tried the Ooze boss once using tips above but he has some kind of BDD-cleaner attack I think? Anyway I gave up on both of those.
  3. <<Shrines on the world map -> praying at a shrine removes all resting bonuses, just don't do it -> Patch 2.0: only shrine on Neketaka and Crookspur remove resting bonuses, praying at shrine on Poko Kohara is fine>> Now in 4.0, whenever I pray at Poko, it removes my no-rest bonuses including food. Has anyone been able to figure out how to get a permanent shrine bonus?
  4. I think you're talking about when they cast Damper, but I can't tell when they're going to do it (esp with lots of mobs on screen) - how can you tell? With the sporelings, again how can you tell when they are going to cast the Injection thing? It's like a melee arcane damper or cleanse. These are the ones that are difficult. The impossible ones so far to me are the Sigil of Cleansing (Sigilmaster) and sometimes bosses (like Ooze megaboss, who seems to have an attack that acts as a cleanse or damper, he was wiping out my BDD) or regular mobs like on Deck of Many Things crew (who cast Cleanse).
  5. Bump because this post showed the strength of BDD a while back. Been running a build thru with it based on using Wall of Draining to extend time (as suggested above and in the other thread too) of BDD. Fights that were very tough on my Tactician/Bloodmage (especially with flank-immune enemies) are much easier, incluing both Oracle battles in FS, BoW bosses, etc. What I am noticing are the mobs that cast Arcane Cleanse (which doesn't seem to have a to-hit roll like Arcane Damper), in fights where I never noticed them before. They tend to kill me outright. There are sporelings in FS (library etc) who have an ability called Noxious Injection that also seems to act the same way - removes all buffs, and you die ... to a sporeling. So certain fights are much harder. I'd like to know how to avoid Arcane Cleanse (maybe you just constantly have to keep Arcane Reflection up?) because you can build will to avoid Damper (>194 or so). It does get a little tedious buffing so much at the start of each fight.
  6. Can you provide some details? How did you keep them separated? I thought if you didn't keep them separated, they would keep merging back together and you can't kill it?
  7. The tooltip for Arcane Cleanse (lvl 9 wiz spell) doesn't show what it rolls against, as far as I can tell ... is it Will or something else? There's no accuracy shown either. Looking at combat log provides no details as to what its to-hit check is. Is it auto-hit? Can it not be resisted? Does Arcane Reflection work against it? By comparison Arcane Damper shows a to-hit check against will.
  8. I actually can't tell if the subclass Berath rust rusted armor rebuff would make it better choice. Or maybe skaen is after all for the mobility choices and the free learn of minor avatar. Can the priest summons be out at same time as mage phantasm?
  9. Fyi the Minolta pbaoe spell also does 200+ damage around you if you can get surrounded. It ignores armor so seems pretty powerful. EDIT: it's Minoleta's Precisely Piercing Burst, pbaoe, and it was hitting Doru for example from between 130(grazes) to 250+ (hits/crits).
  10. Since usually I was running at 1hp when damper hit, and surrounded by mobs, like all the fampyrs and related at Sea-Lashed Crypt, damper hitting was a guaranteed death. Because during the time BDD is suspended, something will for sure hit you. It can be avoided by stacking resolve buffs and will buffs (llengraths, Griffin blade, mangera chain) plus Stat buffs, but you have to give on another star area like dex (to keep str / int / per high along resolve, dumping Dex and Con). EDIT: Sigilmaster megaboss is *very* hard due to boss itself casting Arcane Damper and the sigil of Cleansing casting Arcane Cleanse (which is a level 9 wizard spell, and I can't find what it rolls against ... I can't seem to resist it with 199 will). Not sure Skaen is the right subclass. I tried Harvester of Gaub for the lvl 1 spell that can crit for over 300, Blessed Harvest, but I'm not liking the other automatic choices for spells it gives you. In my testing, Pillar of Holy Fire is reliably crritting for 180+ in aoe which for non fire immune makes it seemingly better than Ninagauth Pillar, but not sure. Marux Aumanth priest dagger seems to give it a chance to double cast but not sure if mathematically better than holding two +PL fire items. Toyed with idea if wodeica priest for the toolset of unique spells but not sure worth it. That is, would o really use the writs that much? You'rr basically face taking with BDD and trying to get Brilliant, so the writs aren't as useful perhaps. Magran might be worth it to cover the fire side and therefore free up Priest spell slots for the buffs and let wiz spells focus on frost with Ninagauth and self buffs. As far as I can see you want Dire Blessing, Champions Boon, BDD, Salv of Time, and maybe minor avatar and litany of spirit (for the +PL, which I'm hoping stacks with Blood Magee +1 wiz PL). Then you can mix in self buffs or offensive spells. You can stand in your own damage circles as well, just like the Electric Dyslexic build showed. Maybe start with drugs like Coral Snuff or Deadeye depending on needs. Human is a given for the acc/damage buffs under BDD and you can still use Revku hat with 1 injury to prevent interrupts. It's going to take a long time to get to BDD and Wall of Draining tho (lvl 14 or something?) and also get the cape from Berkana Obs. Assuming solo. Faster and easier in a party. Frankly it doesn't seem as OP as people are saying. Especially given the high maintenance involved. Each fight has ramp time
  11. Seems to take a long time because the to-hit is still very hard... I need to swap out some gear to see if I can do it any faster but Raven said it took him 90mins and I think I've been at it at least as long. The flame nights don't seem to spawn always and there is a lot of time casting walls to keep them up. And attacks miss a lot. I'm also not running away as much as I should so his fireballs don't heal him. I think Kaylon build did this faster and with much less active effort.
  12. FWIW. arcane damper will still remove your BDD and you will, basically, instantly die. I think HulkOSaurus mentioned this in his Electric Dyslexic build which was built around stacking BDD. You have to push your will defense high enough that AD won't hit on POTD, which I think was like 192+. That may mean not dumping resolve and stacking some items.
  13. there's a build in the build list about it. you kill your own low-hp skellies to create enemy-only chillfogs and (if you're a barb) i think to get zero recovery on kills ...
  14. Just to be clear here, identical chanter chant buffs don't stack. Only one "sure handed ila" chant will be active, so you can't get super fast ranged weapon speed beyond the first chant. My dreams are crushed - not your fault Are there any other AOE speed buffs? Aside from the Chanter/Fury barb with the AOE speed totem. I could go Chanter/Wiz or Chanter/Monk for the self speed buffs (Alacrity of Motion, Swift Strikes) I suppose. Feed everyone Mohorā Wraps and a drug like Coral Snuff. Given identical chanter buffs don't stack, it still might be good to mix in 1 of each type from 5 chanter simultaneously?
  15. <<Priest/Blood mage prolly the best high level class out there now)>> To extend BDD with wall of draining, and get Brilliant via the cloak? You won't get the fighter goodies tho....
  16. It hardly feels like cheese if you have to spend 90 minutes actively fighting him (casting walls, attacking, etc). Especially vs rogue strategy with gouging strike etc per above comment. I assume you are healing so much that using Revku cloak is no longer needed?
  17. So I've been toying with the idea of an all-Chanter / Chanter-multi party that stacks passive chants and active buffs, especially to increase ranged weapon speed. I'd be open to suggestions on how to build said party. My thought was at least one melee character to tank while the rest plink/shoot from range. Also to maybe focus most on auto-attacks with ranged weapons to minimize micro. Lastly, one idea was mixing in Priest of Woedica for the aoe spells that block engagement and otherwise shut down groups. I thougth maybe with 5 chanters and some self buffs (say from ranger with Gunner, 1 using Maia's Sharpshooter garb) you could get arquebus/gun speed to something absurdly fun? Mix in a Fury barbarian for AOE speed buff from totem? And at least 1 armor recovery pet? Thoughts / suggestions?
  18. Is the damage from CDT so much higher than, say, using Sanguine Great Sword with modal? Does it give back life in DoT vs one hit, and that's why it's better than Sanugine? I also though the heal from Twin Eels with stacked religion was pretty decent, but I don't know how it compares to CDT.
  19. Except there's now a bug where the Red Hand's self-damage malus persists on you even after you swap it out to a non-active weapon slot or remove it from your weapon slots entirely, if you don't rest.
  20. Amra's pretty awesome, available early, and when you get the SSS axe you can weapon-swap with it to upgrade your Might buff (and then switch back).
  21. There was a video a while back of a guy using Stalker's Patience who got 5 no-recovery hits in a row, due to crits. Bam bam bam bam bam. Was awesome! I've used stalker's patience on Swashbucklers and reliably / regularly see at least 1 no-recovery crit in a combat. It's great. I still love my two-spear dual wield idea modified from Iron Hammer build.
  22. Firearm will still give you reload, besides recovery, if I'm not mistaken .
  23. ah ok, it doesn't help you cast walls faster, it helps your wall tick faster because you have summoned a hostile (or perhaps several) with your hits ... so you've stacked 1+ hostiles alongside doru, to help your wall hit more and heal more. Cool. given the belt adds fire damage to your attacks, aren't you healing Doru tho if you're attacking him?
  24. SChin can you please confirm you got the save file ok?
