  1. On stream they did say that Vatnir will have some reactions to the base game events too? As for Ydwin, she had some interjections in two dialogues they showed.
  2. It's more of a game's way to inform you that these two quests are contradictory? You can't do both. Don't worry about failing Tip of the spear if you never planned to ally with Kua. As for Furrante or Castol, you can still continue working with them even if you freed the slaves. Aeldys and Queen would actually prefer Crookspur to be cleared and slaves freed, so that doesn't anger them.
  3. Also Berath placed a chime in your soul to make sure you do as she asks or else.
  4. Ok, I have a bunch of lore questions: Does a ranga nui inherit their throne or are they elected? There are five hazanuis in RDC, is Karu the one calling the shots or is she just the only one we deal with? Will we ever see an in-game representation of a map of Eora? (For example, one made by Vailians or something, with all its inaccuracies). Also could you confirm if the map seen on a hazatoha table represents Eora or a smaller region? In what regions other than Dyrwood, Vailian Republics and Deadfire is animancy legal/openly practiced? Would a godlike born to the Roparu caste still have a special place in their tribe? Can members of different castes have children together? If so, then to which caste do their children belong to? Also how much Rauatai and Huana lore was already created before working on Deadfire started?
  5. I think Woedica shuns animancy because it may bring kith closer to discovering that gods weren't real but created with very sophisticated animancy machines. She's into keeping the status quo but I don't think she opposes animancy because it's progress, more like, because of what it may reveal. It's also worth noting that beside Leaden Key there is another organization that would like to keep kith in the dark and it's the Hand Occult, followers of Wael. Josh Sawyer mentioned in one of the Deadfire dev talks streams that the Hand Occult is for example responsible for sabotaging works on printing press. Wael is a keeper of secrets. They get rather upset in Deadfire when gods start to talk with Watcher more openly about their nature etc.
  6. To be honest I picked Woedica because I wanted to specifically make a lawful evil character who was also an aristocrat. It made sense to me. I didn't want to imply that it would be specific to Rauatai. I'm sorry for the confusion; I mostly wanted to point out differences in my story choices. (Also it's kinda hard to judge the whole Rauatai when we see only their navy and Kana's own reflections. Also Woedica is still somewhat important to Huana as well; her name is invoked by Onekaza, usually understood as the law-keeper and oathbinder).
  7. I feel like majority of companions are stagnant... Except for Tekehu. I think I just agree with aksrasjel. Xoti just seems so unbelievably immature. I've lost my patience for this character. The only thing I liked about her were her unique views on Gaun, how death is intertwined with life. But that's about it and with each playthrough I'm just more fed up with her antics.
  8. I've made a pro-Rauatai Watcher recently too and faced a similar dilemma. Except I've made her also pro-Woedican and anti-animancy. I think the most important choices are the ones regarding Kana and Pallegina (because the Republics seem to be their major competition. not sure how much of an impact would one deal have on them though). Also interesting choice you've made for Kana. Because it makes sense of course; him being anti-isolationism doesn't make him a dissident even if it could look this way on the surface. As for a spy-assassin type of a character I guess your choices work okay? I wonder though... if you'd kill both Kolsc and Raedric and then left undead Raedric to infinitely oppress his people it would lead to more instability in the region? (how would you know that he'd come back from the dead though. maybe leaving a region leaderless would be enough). Eh reading this and thinking of my own response just makes me realize more that while you can make your own informed choices you can't foresee the ripple effects. The long-term consequences.
  9. When it rains, Kathrenn and co go downstairs where there aren't that many npcs around. It can be easier that way too.
  10. Tough choice. I would like to see Living Lands, White that Wends and Rauatai the most. Living Lands for its frontier feeling and bizarre flora and fauna. White that Wends because we know so little about it. I imagine it also could have that hard survival, maybe post-apo feeling with a touch of mystical. Rauatai because I want to see it outside of just its military. Not interested in Aedyr almost at all. Old Vailia might be interesting because of how unstable the region is. Raedceras could be a little too vanilla fantasy setting, too close to how Dyrwood felt. On paper it sounds more interesting than Dyrwood (theocracy, extremely poor region) but I'm not sure if I'd want to explore it in game. Ixamitl... I don't know. Wouldn't say no but wouldn't be my first choice.
  11. I think St. Waidwen was physically transformed when Eothas possessed him. He was described as having a head that shined like a beacon. So I assume that's how Eothas' godlikes would look like.
  12. Overall I agree with your assessment bugarup but I don't know if I'd call Atsura a megalomaniac. I don't think he's very... self-obsessed. On the other hand he does seem to view the world as a game, his reaction to Watcher ****ing up his plans for Crookspur is why I interpret it as such.
  13. Nah I don't like that idea at all. With all those factions trying to get there how would one Watcher with a small crew defend it? How to hold a position on an island with no natural resources? Also what gkathellar said, it's a bad way to solve a complex situation.
  14. Many Rauataian names sound vaguely japanese so I guess the language could be japanese-inspired too but some words like ranga nui are from maori language (in maori it's Ranginui) (in universe those are loan words from the old, shared language from Deadfire Huana). But as noted above, no non-aumauas are named in game. Don't know how far the assimilation went in the conquered territories and if people had to assume the rauataian naming convention.
  15. I've been thinking the same thing and then remembered that line from Magran: She says it before the conversation revealing that godlikes are a backup plan for the gods. When Watcher asks what she means no answer is given. So I guess there were Eothas godlikes and gods speculate that he either absorbed them or left them alone to possibly possess them if his adra giant plan fails. Would Eothas use his godlikes like this? I think he would because he does after all absorb all of those lives on his way. And says he does it out of love. For the greater good.
  16. English isn't my first language either. I remember playing WarCraft3 as a kid, writing down new words (sometimes phonetically haha) and checking in a dictionary. It improved my vocabulary and was a fun way to learn a language. I don't mind it. I'm a fan of Ashley Johnson and I like her voice. It's also nice to hear a woman's voice narrating a game. But I agree that she reads kinda slow.
  17. Ok so I googled polish translation of the sketch and it looks like it was translated as "norweska błękitna", different word for the color blue. Also it should use feminine gender. So the whole sentence should look like this: Czy masz norweską błękitną?
  18. RDC are very technologically advanced and they're pioneering in research and application of diving technologies (together with an independent scientist from Vailia). The quests given by hazanui are connected to that. They do care about academic pursuits but mostly if they're going to have tangible results; their whole thing is fighting against (para)natural forces to keep themselves afloat. They keep away from adra mostly but they are interested in the ways adra can affect the weather. More cautious about the research than Vailians. For someone like your character wouldn't it be most fitting to do quests for everyone and then leave them hanging? (If you happen to disagree with some favtions more than others you can "fail" some quests and still return them). Or maybe try to do quests for others and sabotage them and ultimately join VTC? Animancy might sound like the most fitting type of sciences for you Watcher.
  19. Oh man I had the same problem when I made my Watcher. I picked an old nordic name for them, Skaði. It looks like in the first DLC, coming in late July, we'll get some pale elf lore. Spoilers: here is a post with portraits (and names) of new pale elves NPCs. Or just names, without portraits if you want to be surprised: Brythe Ehrys Hafjorn Karlodh Leksi Nyvardir Valbrendhur Rynhaedr Also, according to wikia, here are all named NPCs from both PoE and Deadfire. Most of them are actually from White that Wends. Deadfire: Udita Aeflyn (not sure if she's from WtW) Caergr Lyslódhir Ydwin PoE: Freyol (not sure if she's from WtW) Iqali Vesgel Lafda (not sure if she's from WtW) Vamrel
  20. What I liked about the fling with Serafen is the lack of melodrama and attempting to "fix" him and make him monogamous and emotionally ready to be in a committed relationship. With Aloth it's kinda similar - you have to respect his boundaries and it's the only valid way to romance him, unlike telling him to "open up" like one might expect would be the correct way o pursuing video game romance. (Just shower them with platitudes and enjoy the passion of tropes and cliches). I never picked up the seductive line for Pallegina because it just seems terribly inappropriate way to start it; wasn't it in the same conversation she told the Watcher about her being suicidal? Too bad I can't just express some kindness and care for Pallegina in a more considerate way and then get rejected. I also don't mind Eder rejecting the Watcher (okay. I do the way he rejects an orlan). I never romanced Xoti or Maia because I don't get them at all so I can't comment on that. But it makes me super happy that they can get together. I also haven't finished Tekehu's romance yet; it has a little weird structure. I made that point about Maia's quest before so naturally I agree :d. Your point about Eothas' storyline makes me realize that there is a running theme. I complained somewhere on this forum before about lack of a connecting theme in the game? But now I see the question of responsibility and consequences of one's actions pops up here and there. Similar to Aloth's arc in Deadfire.
  21. Ok I admit I dislike the idea of a detour for the its own sake but I read your ideas and kinda liked them. Especially the point of using it as an opportunity for some Wheel lore exposition. And seeing monsters.
  22. Atsura tries hard to come off as a nice person but no one told him that nice people don't usually start a conversation with a newly met person by hugging them. Almost had it. I think it could be cool if the city became more chaotic nearing the end of the game. Instead of faction leaders arguing at the palace RDC actually goes with their plan... and the player either plays the part of the assassin, like in the game, or if they're sided with Huana or VTC has to rescue the queen. If you're aiding Principi you just wait it out and using the opportunity steal from everyone. Or something. And on the topic of being outsmarted... Maia's quest kinda does that. You as a player, are conditioned by years of playing rpgs that you just gotta do the quest and hope that there just will be an option to go the way you want to. And then you realize it's you who has been played. Admittedly on a smaller scale than what you propose.
  23. To anyone who doesn't want to support Kahanga because it's bad for Roparu: why do you think VTC or RDC would improve their lives? VTC exploits the power disparity of Huana by hiring Roparu for minimal wages for physical labor. Or use them in animancy experiments. Once they done mining adra they would pack up and leave, leaving the Huana forever changed and not for the better. RDC might materially change lives for better but at the same time they destroy their culture, which they also don't even try to understand and don't value. The Kahanga do not represent whole Huana and their claim to power and attempt to centralize Huana is a direct result of dealing with Vailians and Rauatai. So I suppose only a strong, centralized Huana might have a chance against foreign influences wanting to exploit them. And it's true that they're willfully ignorant of Roparu plight but I think the change of caste system should come from Roparu, not any foreigners who try to upend the society for their own goals. They don't care.
  24. Ok, I have more reactions from Atsura. spoilers. It's after assassination of the royal family. Aggressive Watcher: It's the same if you're cruel: If you're kind-hearted, passionate or mild-mannered though his reaction is exactly opposite: It's honestly hilarious how his VA delivers this line. When you're shady or clever: When you're rational: And stoic: Probably my favorite. Now, there isn't a specific reaction for an Honest Watcher. But there's this line. And since all dispositions got their respective reactions with only honest being left out it looks like only a 100% Honest Watcher with no other dispositions would see it: It's similar to Rational reaction but lacks that persuasive edge.
  25. I went RDC route, eventually. On my third playthrough. After all, I made myself play F:NV and side with Legion. Can't be worse than this. Call it morbid curiosity and wanting to explore some really bad ideas (and be a completionist). And seeing what the game even offers in that regard. On my first playthrough I sided with Huana, though at first I couldn't pick between them and Principi (completely lost my sympathy for them when Furrante was revealed to work with slavers). On my second I sided with VTC simply because i felt terrible for Pallegina.
