Bounty Hunter gets a bonus to Mechanics and Stealth and gets an ability every PL such as a seal or movement hindering ability and PL scaling with normal traps, which they can place three of. Downsides are -10% action speed and -20% backstab damage (BHs prefer to plan and have their traps to do the dirty work) and Escape cannot be used (they hunt their prey till the end). Thoughts? Think of it as a more strategic rogue, where planning and adaptability is rewarded.

The only char I find super cringey is Xoti. And I wish there was ton more dialogue with companions. I almost feel like creating custom party members makes the game more enjoyable even from a story perspective bc you can just use your imagination and you wont be let down when your companions are silent for most of the end game .

Ha! Actually, now when you mention it White March is my favourite piece of content in the whole PoE frenchise so far. Pacing is excellent, combat is satisfying by being challenging but not frustrating. It provides just enough freedom while still providing strong narrative with revelation that is foreshadowed throughout the adventure. I think the balance of dark themes, adventure and humor is perfect - something that wasn't achieved in neither of base games. Durgans battery is an excellent dungeon, and Ondra's sanctum was brilliant. Deadfire topped it in term of gameplay complexity, but I thought it is still the most interesting location in the series. I wouldn't call a fight every few feet excellent pacing

I enjoy the animancy theme and dark tone of PoE more. I was generally appalled at the tree in Gilded Vale and thought it set an appropriately dark tone. However the "revelation" still doesn't do it for me, and Fassina says it best in Forgotten Sanctum (I won't spoil it). But PoE2 is infinitely more playable. PoE became a chore and I thought the White Marches were a completely mess of pacing (I think the second one got a 4/10 on Gamespot!). I'm on playthrough 5 in PoE2 bc there are little things to discover even after you think you've seen everything. Plus some of the new classes are worth playing. And a highly recommend a char with the Deadfire background, it opens up a bunch of dialogue options.

Hunting Season *spoilers*

Yeah that seems to be the only way to side w the druids -
No one their right mind is going to kill the Fleet Master for the Druids and make enemies of the entire RDC near the beginning/middle of the game. I'm even playing an Ancient and still doesn't make sense. From a gameplay perspective, you can't close the Overgrowth quest until you deal with the druids. At least the FM convinces you not to do it. It would be nice if there were more than 2 black n white solutions, esp for Druids and Rangers.

has this already been reported as a bug? re: the original topic, finishing blow is less useful than you think (at least in my experience having rolled an assassin/priest of skaen a long time ago) because it competes at that level with shining beacon and divine terror, both of which i think are good candidates for assassinate. pillar of holy fire is obviously a good pickup late game and synergizes well with any +fire advantage gear you might have. i forget if searing seal works correctly with assassinate, but for AL5 that's pretty much reserved for two "free" uses of shadowing beyond. Oh so spell casting via stealth gets assassinate? That's very cool and changes the way I'm thinking about this build.

Okay, lets say that was the case, the question remains; how are people I just started talking to able to know my name? That's just one of the unrealistic things you'll have to live with, I suppose. Another is the fact that when something happens, everybody in the game world appears to know about it straight away. There are no telephones or mass media or anything like that, though... Can anyone think of any instance in the game where you can somehow benefit from the fact that something has happened but someone doesn't know it? I don't think this exists. Like, there is a commotion in the Neketaka harbor, and everybody you meet in town knows about it and knows it was you. I can suspend my belief on this when I'm playing a Godlike character because of how they stand out. Otherwise you're just a random char in the world and somehow everyone knows your a Watcher, which can be alarming.

And they def need to change Stag Carnage to a passive. It's a hilariously underpowered active.

Gorecci (or Grocery) St has an easy stealth/diplomacy path. Talk to the jailer then when you travel to Gorecci st from outside the city you arrive at the bottom of the map where you can stealth and talk to leader. Unless you looking for a serious challenge this is the easiest approach. Edit: just saw what Woopee said lol.
