Do you lose the loot of you sink their ship? In this case are cannonballs even an option?
-
I think it is reasonable to change the topic name. At the moment it looks like spam. Nice point. I had the same thoughts. I think the ability should have a reduced duration and it should redirect attacks to OTHER enemies, therefore it should be useless vs a single enemy. Reduced duration would turn it into an active blocking which is quite interesting: I predict a hit in 1,5 seconds and prepare Blade turning instead of blindly spamming it for immortality. Increasing the cost to 3 is also an option.

Portraits II
Sotnik replied to Amentep's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I always have a really hard time finding decent aumaua portraits. It's hard since they aren't a standard fantasy race in the same way as say elves. No kidding. So here's four goliath and IWD portraits! Finally I can create a Corpse-Eater character ^^ -
You are right. If an Inspiration gives you +armor penetration, it will stack with a modal, item and buff from spell. However, the modals and spells are at the same group and they won't stack with each other. What I am not sure about is whether I will benefit from a bonus to +x in melee if I already have +x in general within the same buff group.

Thank you, I was not sure what would be the best wording for that. I corrected the original post. Why Lightning Strikes are currently better without using the exploits. Damage bonus is multiplicative. If you score a crit or use an attack ability (consider adding backstab bonus for example), all the additional damage is multiplied. With Swift Flurry you only get a standard attack that can miss/graze/hit even if the main attack was a crit. Moreover, you will lose more damage due to overkill. That's why I think Swift Flurry<>Lightning Strikes will need more balancing as soon as the bug is fixed. Don't you agree?

Then, if I use a rod and it crits multiple times, there will be multiple Swift Flurry procs. Same with multiple projectile weapons and some skills (arrow bouncing of Ranger?) that allow more weapon-based attacks. Do you think it is ok for the balance? My proposal to limit Swift Flurry by 1 use per 0,3 seconds had the same purpose as your idea, but I was thinking about nerfing it more in respect of rods and multiple projectile weapons in exchange for increased proc chance to keep Swift Flurry viable for melee. Does Cleaving Stance proc that way now?

Hi! The Swift Flurry monk ability is broken when used with multiple projectile weapons and rods. On the other hand, it should not be inferior to Lightning Strikes. Let's figure out how that can be fixed. My suggestions is limiting it to 1 proc per 1 attack: (i) the first roll plus additional projectiles/additional targets in AoE/targets affected by bouncing etc trigger maximum 1 Swift Flurry ("you just need all instances of damage to be identifiable as the same attack in the code"); (ii) Crits generated by Swift Flurry shouldn't be able to proc Swift Flurry. Boeroer suggested a softer nerf - without the item (i). Along with that, an increase in its proc chance to 50% is required (otherwise it will be weaker than Lightning Strikes in melee). With multiple projectile weapons it should trigger the full round - it currently works inconsistently with various weapons. If you know specific cases for sure, please advise. What are your ideas? Why Lightning Strikes are currently better without using the exploits. Damage bonus is multiplicative. If you score a crit or use an attack ability (consider adding Stealth bonus of Assassins for example), all the additional damage is multiplied. With Swift Flurry you only get a standard attack that can miss/graze/hit even if the main attack was a crit. Moreover, you will lose more damage due to overkill. Finally, you cannot use Fists as a one weapon style and Monks don't get many active and passive accuracy bonuses: only Dance of Death (inconsistent) and Razor's Edge (8th Power Level, inconsistent), maximum 5% hit-crit conversion. Lightning Strikes are also stacking better with the Razor's Edge. On the other hand, Swift Flurry is multiplicative with other lash bonuses while Lightning Strikes are not. No autosaves
Sotnik replied to Sotnik's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
In PoE1 the game autosaved whenever you entered a location and after some other actions like hiring a merc. I was hoping ToI would have more autosaves in the second game - like autosaving on a character knockout. Still, I believe the problem is not intended, but it is a bug. -
Dog animal companion
Sotnik replied to Sotnik's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)

This is just a hopeless post stating that I wish there was a dog animal companion. It is strange that there are such weird options like Antelope and Stag while the the animal companion most popular in the real life is not represented. An opportunity to give a Ranger a more urban flavour is missed. I really wanted to roleplay something like a Houndmaster from Darkest Dungeon. Wolf is not the same. Pet items are not the same.

Russian localization: Votary is simply called "Monk". Possible correct translations: Служитель, Адепт. -
Whenever I use an invisibility skill with no companions, combat ceases after a few seconds and invisibility disappears. If I am on sight, the combat immediately resumes. I do not get back the power sources. Please fix it so that the combat does not cease while a character is invisible and within the sight radius of foes.

Torment's Reach: Short and full descriptions contradict each other in respect of the Primary target (Staggered and Crush damage). -
I used Eternal Devotion with 2 blunderbusses. I made a shot, stopped with a key, then used it again and got a full attack without reloading the used gun. Moreover, I need to reload only one gun for further full attacks. ALSO I don't know if it is intended, but Powder Burns procs with successful Swift Flurry. I would not say it is game-breaking, just want to be sure it is as designed and I am not exploiting a glitch.
