Ghostheart/Ascendant is pretty nice, with Frostseeker (warbow from near Neketaka) and Driving Flight you have an extremely powerful dispel that also causes you to ascend and be able to spam Cipher powers. There's also a companion that can be a ranger/wizard, might be a good one to take with you if you like both classes.

I made an Arcane Archer/Bleak Walker on Boeroer's suggestion and it's pretty amazingly good. He suggested Spearcaster (which scales with Arcana like your Imbues) but I've been using Dragon's Dowry to similarly great effect. I haven't tried Evoker as a main character but I made one for one of my max level parties and they are crazy powerful, especially with a cipher giving them infinite spells.

it's not just about spamming slickens at bosses you know. blood mages can also repeatedly cast your favorite evocation spell over and over again (along with other excluded spells). sure they won't be able to one-hit-end-combat in late game like an empowered [insert high-end damage spell] can, but I would argue most of the game is not about ending combat with one super-empowered AL8/9 spell. Evokers can cast them over and over again too if you have Brilliant! Blood mage may be more versatile, but in my experience even un-empowered evocations are really strong with all the PL buffs you can pile on. It wasn't my main character but could dish out crazy damage with no limits because I had 3 ciphers in that party.

I tried a single class Beguiler in my most recent playthrough after seeing Boeroer suggest it, and it's pretty great. You rarely need to use your weapon because Deceptions generate focus, and in fights with lots of enemies (most of them on PotD) you can refill your focus with a single cast and just keep spamming debuffs -> amplified waves or whatever. I've really enjoyed the playstyle. I've barely even used the charm/dominate spells, they're almost too good.

My Watcher can cast Thunderous Report and Wild Shot any time she wants... despite not having Kitchen Stove equipped. Before that, Serafen had it equipped in his off weapon set and was still able to use its abilities with his other weapons out. Not sure if this is the same issue but it seems similar.

With that in mind should I look at dropping xoti potentially? Xoti's Priest subclass is a bit borked (imho, it's one reason why Priests get a bad rep in this game) with few traditional/general purpose spells compared to other kits. The class (in general) starts to shine around PL4 with Shining Beacon, Devotions for the Faithful, and Triumph of The Crusaders - Crusaders grants +5 MIG and 80hp base on kill, which is pretty spicy. At PL8 you'll gain access to Hand of Weal and Woe, which offers superb healing (25hp base per second for 10 seconds). All things considered, I would use a Priest in tandem with a supplementary healer - like Herald - since you'll want some breathing room for buffs (Dire Blessing, Minor Avatar) and solid damage spells (Storm of Holy Fire, Spark the Souls of the Righteous). I dunno, the level one execute spell and Symbol of Eothas at AL8 are both pretty awesome. I had never even cast Symbol of Eothas until my most recent playthrough but it does massive foe-only AoE damage on top of +15 defenses for your party. I gave Xoti some fire-buffing items and she could dish out a lot of damage while also bringing those great buffs you mentioned.
