  1. Gah! I could never get past the stupid babel fish thing.
  2. I need to play these games again.
  3. I dunno how well a prequel could work. I mean, you know there's gonna be a holocaust. It'd be like playing a game made out of Terminator 3, if you follow. Post-apocalyptic is the way to go. I'd like to have the option of being part of an established caravan trade-route or something, that leads to other states, or up into Canada, or down into Mexico. Maybe a surveyor for the route. Perhaps some conflict arises along the way and you're just trying to get back home, having all kinds of adventures along the way... or you start to hear things as you head further east (or north or south), about some big something-or-other, and decide to delve into it a little deeper.
  4. Maybe when the Droid Factory is restored by Team Gizka, we'll get some answers.
  5. No, no. Darque had the Torment thing right. Switch the "fixed" BGs around and then you have something.
  6. My guess would be Wasteland
  7. No. PS:T is an amazingly fun and good game (above avarage) before the Maze... After though... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was definitely more quickly-paced post-Ravel, and Curst and the Prison were kinda scarred by cut content (I believe). If you look at the dialogue files (say with Infinity Explorer), it was at least intended, at some point, that the Nameless One and Party be able converse with various prisoners about "The Deva". Other than that, honestly I dunno how else they could have done Baator and Carceri. Quality of the combat aside, you're in the Lower Planes, you're not supposed to be on a picnic or have a bunch of quests to do.
  8. I didn't know if I should have included that or not because people could say that kind of conflict depends on the dark side being present. Although I guess some conflicts don't have to have parties of different alignments. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well the Force is always gonna have its dark side. It's the kinda thing where you can't have one without the other.
  9. Just installed Morrowind GOTY earlier today. I'm already not sure how long I can take the pacing of the game, and I dunno about the method of combat either. Maybe I misunderstood -- the longer you hold down the mouse button before release, the more powerful your hit will be? ...Well, I guess I'll just have to get into a fight first, and see how it goes.
  10. Jedi don't only have conflict in their own lives. There is external conflict everywhere, which is why they are the champions and protectors of the Republic.
  11. Its not a contradiction if you read what I am saying and use your head. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay... "
  12. Man, do I have to explain everything to you or can you use your noggin beyond a rat rack for once? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Man, do I have to go back and find your previous posts about cheap shots? Just pointing out that you're contradicting yourself.
  13. That is a completely different ball of wax. KotOR 2 uses the same base game engine, same rules system, and has the same style of representation in its graphics. The same can be said about NWN 2 to NWN 1. This is far far far far far far far far different situation in Fallout 3. If you expecting Fallout 3 to have the same base engine as Fallout 2 like KotOR 2 does with KotOR 1 then you are sadly mistaken. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope I'm expecting Fallout 3 to look nothing like its predecessors. I only meant to point out that another developer can take an existing franchise and make something good out of it. I'll concede that maybe those examples weren't very good ones.
  14. How about the original merely remastered in a new engine ala FFVII? :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm, I've never played any of the FF games, or even paid much attention to them, to be honest. But... I just had a quick look at the FFVII site, and visually it is very impressive. I could probably go for Torment redone like that. I'm not gonna be like some others and say its gotta have this this and this... but I think having the same actors redo all the voice-over material isn't unreasonable... oh, and Annah's still gotta have a tail
  15. I know, I know, but I'd still like to see it.
  16. Slightly On-Topic: For the Morrowind GOTY Edition, install Tribunal or Bloodmoon first (after Morrowind itself)?
  17. Actually I'm not disappointed that there's no Fallout 3 material yet. I've yet to play a game that Bethesda has made. I own Morrowind GOTY but haven't installed it yet. I've played both the Fallouts a few times, and enjoyed them but I'm no rabid fan. Personally I'd rather see a Torment 2 than a Fallout 3, but that's a whole other Can O' Worms. Having said all that, I want Bethesda to take their time with F3 and make it a good game, however they make it, and I have no problem with another developer continuing the franchise. Look at what Obsidian did with Kotor II. Despite the bugs (which were never a big problem for me) and the cut content, it was a very good game. Also NWN2 looks very promising from what I've seen.
  18. Wait... what?
  19. I'm far too lazy to read through about a bazillion pages of Kotor 3 material, but I've just finished the first two games recently, and I'm curious about a couple of things. With no disrepect at all towards the folks working on the TSL restoration project -- I'm looking forward to playing that when it's ready -- I think that, for whatever reason " there were questions left unanswered at the end of Kotor 2, so part 3 would have to take place soon after, and address those. Question is, what connection should the new PC have to the first two games? Exile fought for Revan in the Mandalorian Wars, establishing that connection. We still dunno how Exile and Kreia ended up on the Ebon Hawk (right?), although T3-43 likely does. EDIT: Oops. Didn't see the Poll. I vote (K).
  20. I dunno about that. Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast were just out and doing quite well. Fallout 2 hadn't been out for very long. Shadows of Amn was on the horizon, and IWD too (although we didn't really know it then). It was a perfect time, really, for Torment to come out. The Infinity Engine was known, thanks to BG's success. Dungeons and Dragons was popular again blah blah blah... I think it's just that the Planescape setting never really appealed to the masses -- from what I've heard, its PnP material never sold very well either -- and it took risks that didn't appeal to the majority of gamers.
  21. Just finished Kotor and Kotor II, and I expect I'll be playing them again at some point. Also just finished the tutorials for Eve-Online, but dunno if I'm gonna get into that or not. Got about 10 free trial days left to find out. ::shrug:: Waiting in the wings (or until the work week is over): Half-Life 2.
  22. The T3 vs. HK scene made lots of sense to me, but it require that you pay close attention to some points earlier in the game. Everybody knows that the Ebon Hawk's navicomputer is locked, but many seem to think that Kreia locked it, simply because she implies early on that she has the means to reprogram it. In fact, it was T3 who locked the computer, which you pretty much learn, if you build influence enough with him to get the Bastila (or Carth) hologram. In the LS Revan version, Carth actually confirms this when you finally meet him later, since he says that wherever Revan is now, the Hawk has been there. But it's clear that Kreia never went with Revan to the unknown regions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just thought of something else. Wonder if T3 would have killed/tried to kill any of the others if they made the same discovery as hk-47. What if it had been The Exile, or Carth or Bastila?
  23. Yep, I got that deal with Carth toward the end of kotor 2. Still leaves alot of questions unanswered though, which I guess was probably the point.
  24. That theory would make sense, cuz yeah, i was wondering what the heck was going on... same with the scene involving t3 and hk-47, but that was sort of explained too.
