^ last i heard was Florida. that should make Auld happy.
  3. sounds like where i live <_< great news about firefly though. unfortunately i was one of the many who didn't watch the show when it was actually on TV, but i get the movie and series on dvd recently. its great stuff, imho.
  4. Current payroll is right around 38 Million, but that doesn't include the Domi and Belfour buyouts, so yeah they're getting close. They still have to sign Colaiacovo, Stajan and Wellwood (all RFAs). Looks to me like they have might have room for another forward. Why the hell they re-signed Antropov is beyond me.
  5. Hard to say. He played all those years in Buffalo and NY. Maybe the easier traveling schedule is a plus in his eyes. And any fan of Edmonton knows by now, that all you have to do is make the playoffs, then anything can happen.
  6. Peca A Leaf? The Maple Leafs are reportedly talking to Michael Peca, who is willing to take a pay cut on his $4 million salary to go to Toronto. - Toronto Star
  7. Weekly World News
  8. Heard that a deal for Pronger fell through with the Leafs because Edmonton wanted Steen, and Ferguson wouldn't give him up.
  9. Yeah, I am glad we don't have to rely on that over-the-hill alcoholic anymore. But they traded Tuukka Rask to get Raycroft.. I'm just so sick of seeing the Leafs keep trading away all their youth in exchange for 30+ players (yeah, I know Raycroft is only 26, but other trades). No wonder the Leafs roster looks like a trip down to the retirement center. For once the Leafs had to rely on some young players (because of all the injuries last season) and Steen stood head and shoulders above the rest. Unfortunately the rookies weren't enough to save the season, which is probably why they're trade bait right now. Pronger is a great player, but to me he comes at a way too great cost. And noone knows if young players will actually make use of the potential they have in them, noone knows how long they will play for any team and all that, but I am willing to give it a shot (for once) instead of getting players like Nolan, Leetch, and that expensive old guy (Al something?) who played like 14 games for the Leafs before retiring.. with full million dollar pay. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They still have Justin Pogge.
  10. Questron for the C-64, followed by Ultima IV and V.
  11. Download the unofficial fixpack here. It's well worth it. EDIT: redundancy. <_<
  12. Tell me about the builds you used please. So far my favourite was a fairly stereotypical low-INT half-orc barbarian, but he died when I attacked a "practice dummy" skeleton in the divine magic training room, after the attack on the Academy took place. The skeleton went hostile and my hits did no damage.
  13. Started the NWN OC about a dozen or more times recently, trying to decide on a character build I like enough to get out of the Academy with.
  14. It's no different than downloading a patch. Won't be getting the game for awhile after release anyway, so it's no big deal.
  15. Blame that on the diversity of hardware configurations. Many games I've played, and followed on forums, I've seen people post about bugs/issues/crashes that I never encountered at all, and vice-versa. Unfortunately, no way way to know for sure that a game will work on every PC until after release.
  16. that's the halfling i was talking about earlier. Wouldn't want to be in his soles.
  17. The ogre's not bad for a screenshot. Animation might look even better, depending on how complex the model is.
  18. I'm impressed. The game looks super so far. Think that halfling is toast though.
  19. I wouldn't mind playing a character like that. Although I enjoyed Torment a great deal, I think the opportunities exist for a much more satisfying role-playing experience in PnP game. Most probably because a PnP game has more "life" than a CRPG. the characters will react more deeply to your choices and actions. The world will evolve in different ways based on the things you do. People who knew you before you lost your memories might wonder why you're perhaps behaving differently from past behaviour. I wish Torment has explored that aspect a little further than a few inconsequential encounters.
  20. :D I'll clarify. In the BG series, you're the Bhaalspawn who rises above all the others.
  21. Hmmm... Take the BG series, or the IWD series... what difference does it make in the end, which class(es) or race(es) you chose at the beginning? What impact does it have on the game, what you choose to outfit the character(s) with? Outside of a few dialogues from people you meet in-game, you're still the Bhaalspawn (in BG) or a ragtag group of adventurers (in IWD) in the end. All those window-dressing-type options that Torment lacks, have little to no impact in those other games. EDIT: Yeah, like Llyranor said, only more briefly.
  22. Yep, and the writing doesn't compare, IMHO. What I mean is, with no other medium to convey the emotion, the gamer has to visualize for himself. As an example, when the Nameless One is at the "Longing" Sensory Stone, seeing the conversation with Deionarra, we have to see the images in our minds, to see Deionarra's blind hope, and the other's cold manipulation. We have to hear it in their voices, because it's not done for us, as in a daytime soap or movie. Fair enough. I dunno you well enough to suggest otherwise. Apologies.
  23. since there was no actual acting in PS:T, and comparatively little voice acting, nearly all emotion had to be conveyed through text and left to the imagination of the gamer. To say a soap opera has better writing is just wrong, and makes me wonder about your imagination. EDIT: oops, was replying to Volourn's comment.
  24. Tie Fighter. It's one of only three SW games I've ever played, with the other two being the KOTOR's, so figured I'd vote for it.
