I don't know if you or Mr. Insomniac had seen this: http://www.planescapetrilogy.com/ I got all excited over CODI too an nothing came of it. So I try not to get excited over this to avoid that heartbreak again. I remember seeing this, yep, but thanks for the link ... Purgatorio looks promising, and if/when it is released I'll definitely give it a closer look.... if i'm finished with Fallout 3 by then, heh.

I'm just starting to get into the game now... my games of the witcher, company of heroes, and nwn 2 are now on hold indefinitely. So far, and let me stress I've only just arrived in Megaton, i am very impressed. When the game was announced i kept an open mind. i enjoyed the first two fallouts, but i wasn't rabid about them. Fallout 3 has captured the essence of the first two games as far as i'm concerned. infinitely more enjoyable than the agonizing twenty minutes i spent trying to get into morrowind. and i love 'bullet-time' cams in VATS mode in combat.

Looking at those screenshots i'm already glad i pre-ordered the game.

Fallout tends to do that to people. ::shrug::

6) Modrons. EDIT: Oops, i guess that would fall under #3. Okay, a long and important quest/subquest involving modrons and a visit to Mechanus.

Read his review of the Orange Box, particularly Portal.

Fallout and the decade that lasted 125 years
mr insomniac replied to Arkan's topic in Computer and Console
More ads that feature heidi Klum in her undies ftw. How about Kobe Bryant, Tony Hawk, Michael Phelps and Whasshisname playing in their boxers? dunno about anyone else, but i don't find any of those people the least bit attractive. -

Custom character, or at least option for female
mr insomniac replied to Dragonesse01's topic in Computer and Console
The story would have suffered had not he Nameless One been who he was, not to mention the characters would be different as well, in terms of their relationships to the Nameless One. -
sorry but 6 hours is a frakking short game by any standards, unless it's galaga or pong. 6 hours for an RPG ain't a damn game. it would be embarrassingly short for a frakking premium mod. although not a RPG, Portal was only about 3 hours at most, with limited replayability, and it was an amazingly fun game, imho. If this game is all about replayability, then who knows... $20 isn't a bad price for that.

... I just found out about this game. I remember Ravenholm in Halflife 2, and to have an entire game like that, and co-op too? Looks promising.

Started on a "console" that played pong... quickly graduated to an atari 2600, then a colecovision console... great games for that... zaxxon and venture were probably my favourites, and the baseball game came with these really weird controllers. Then came the Commodore 64. I can't say that I bought every game I owned for it... But I did buy my very first game, my introduction to CRPGs, Questron. Great game. My C64 gave up the ghost before I go around to playing Questron II, but I loved the first one. Took me over 100000 "game days" to complete. I remember also that Impossible Mission, by Epyx, really was impossible. M.U.L.E. wa addictive as hell. SSI's Goldbox AD&D games. Ultima III-V. Hardball!... good times. After that, I had a SNES for awhile, but never had many games for it. Ken Griffey Jr Baseball was fun, and Out of this World was very cool. Then came my first Windows '95 pc.... and since then it's been strictly PC. I haven't gotten into console gaming. But i recently scored a bit of extra cash on the 6/49, so who knows.

The Witcher Enhanced Edition is out!!!
mr insomniac replied to ramza's topic in Computer and Console
Futureshop pulled it from their shelves back in May, when I went looking for the original version. I ended up finding it at Walmart of all places. -
BREAKING NEWS: FALLOUT 3 TO FEATURE TEXT
mr insomniac replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
Well... Torment tried to convey a lot of information about the Planescape setting to gamers; it wasn't well known, it wasn't classic fantasy, whatever. And those walls of text did actually help to understand what was going on, at least it worked for me. No doubt there could have been much less text and the message would have gotten across just as well... but if you felt like reading, the the writing was at least good, and if you didn't feel like reading you could skip it. -
I don't remember, but couldn't you choose not to be a God?

The Witcher Enhanced Edition is out!!!
mr insomniac replied to ramza's topic in Computer and Console
I've just installed the expanded edition patch, after letting it download through the night, and started a new game. I'm already impressed with the faster load/save times. Saved at the earliest point I could, so am barely into the game, and now I have to work. Day off tomorrow though, good thing I have no other plans. -

Creationist Site Targets Spore
mr insomniac replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Computer and Console
Isn't the simplest solution, that if you don't like the game or what that game might be teaching your kids, to not buy the game? -
How can you call him a weak tool, yet at the same time say the Panthers won the deal hands down? This is a guy who's numbers steadily declined since he signed the fat contract, whose defensive play got worse, and who will never be forgiven for scoring into his own net last season. The Leafs were at the point of paying him to stay home. I'm not saying McCabe won't suddenly regain his form and become a superstar again. God knows enough former Leafs have done that already. I'm just saying McCabe's time was over in Toronto. Kudos to him for allowing a situation that doesn't really hurt either side. But getting a good defenseman in return makes this a good move for the Leafs.
-
McCabe Traded. McCabe was done in Toronto. He'd gone the way of Larry Murphy in the eyes of the fans. This is a good deal for the Leafs, provided Van Ryn stays healthy. Good deal for the Panthers? Time will tell...

Spore is out soon, is it not, or has it been delayed?

I'm interested in Storms of Zehir, and I figured I should play the OC and MotB at least once before I get it. I'm just about at the part where I stopped playing the last time, doing the City Watch quests, after first arriving in the city of Neverwinter. Then, I had a fighter that I didn't build very well. This time, I've gone for a Ranger/Rogue. Soon I'll add a level of Shadowdancer in order to get the Hide in Plain Sight feat. Is that munchkinism, or powergaming? Maybe, I don't care. So far its more fun after doing a little research on character builds.
