  1. Baldur's Gate 2 was pretty ambitious.
  2. It's gotta be worth an iguana on a stick at least. It will be an ancient artifact from ago.
  3. Yep, its a PIPboy bobblehead... I wonder if Bethesda will make it available for purchase at their online store sometime after the game's release. I'll buy one, and I'll bury it in a time capsule thing in the backyard, so someone in the real post-apocalyptic world will find it in the future and trade it for ammo.
  4. if i can still come to these forums, and if i can still activate a session of halflife 2 or portal thru steam, then i'm happy
  5. You're right. He wants a 780I not a 790I. Thank you again. EDIT: Hey, at least I'm not trying to assemble it myself.
  6. Thanks for the help. I'm not technically saavy enough for overclocking... as you can tell, I picked a motherboard built for ATI videocards, heh. I've decided to go with the evga nforce 790I motherboard instead.
  7. I've ordered a new computer through ncix.com, custom designed the way I want it, which they would then assemble, test, and ship to me. I received an e-mail from them today, saying that the motherboard I've chosen, an ASUS P5K Premium WIFI-AP ATX, does not support the SLI capabilities of my two video cards, Galaxy 8800GTs. However it does support "crossfire" mode. The two Galaxy 8800GTs do not support "crossfire" mode. So they're waiting for me to decide which to replace, the motherboard or the video cards. My preference is to replace the motherboard, since I admit I didn't do enough research, and basically chose it on brand recognition. My question is more of a request really. Can anyone help me find a motherboard similar to the above, that does support SLI mode for my video cards? Any help is appreciated.
  8. A reminder that EA once released a lot of different game genres... *reminiscenses (sp?) the days of "Seven Cities of Gold", "Hard hat Mack", "Archon" & "Racing Destruction Set"* I think I could use a remake of "Racing Destruction Set" A remake of Racing Destruction Set is an excellent idea. I remember Phantasie and M.U.L.E. as well. Great games.
  9. Planescape: Torment - Haven't found a game that can dethrone this one yet. Portal - This was a triumph. I'm making a note here: Huge success. Halflife 2 - The boat. The car. Headshots with a shotgun. Using sawblades and propane canisters with the gravity gun in Ravenholm. Alyx. Halflife 2: Episode 2 - The car. The end fight. Hunters. Alyx. Knights of the Old Republic 2 - Great characters and story. Bring on the TSLRP. Icewind Dale + Expansions - Takes me back to the PnP gaming of my youth. Severed Hand was amazing. Fallout/Fallout 2 - Post-apocalyptic goodness that I can't choose between, so tied. Knights of the Old Republic: First taste of Star Wars as a RPG. Makes the top ten despite Carth Onasi. Baldur's Gate 2 + Throne of Bhaal - The Underdark. The n00b adventurers. The stronghold sidequests. Sarevok. Umar Hills No Mask of the Betrayer on my list, as I haven't played it yet. Judging from all the comments I've read about it from people here whose opinions I respect, I know it's a game I'll like. I just can't devote the kind of time that I know I'll want to, to playing it yet.
  10. Oops. Sorry about the broken link in the orginal post, everyone. That's what I get for posting it before sleep. Thanks to Astr0creep and Jediphile for finding alternatives.
  11. Horror writer King blasts banning violent videogames
  12. Yes. And Half-life 2: Episode 3.
  13. I never really got into Morrowind, and never played Oblivion at all, but I'm still looking forward to this game, and I have to say it looks very cool. The pic of the mutant getting his foot shot off while crashing headfirst to the ground is now my new desktop.
  14. Montreal vs Boston: Montreal in 5. Boston will win one just because its Bruins/Habs. Pittsburgh vs Ottawa: Pittsburgh in 5. What the hell happened to Ottawa?? Washington vs Philly: Washington in 6. As has been said Philly is hot again, but no match for Ovechkin and co. New Jersey vs New York: Meh. Okay New York in 6. Brodeur's magic has to end sometime. Detroit vs Nashville: Detroit in 5. Nashville is overmatched, but they might steal one. San Jose vs Calgary: San Jose in 7. Minnesota vs Colorado: Colorado in 6. Just say NO to the trap Anaheim vs Dallas: Anaheim in 6. Overall I think sharks/flames and ducks/stars will be the two most entertaining series... and the ovechkin show of course.
  15. Re-watched Memento last night. It funny how the story hinges on loss of memory, cuz it's one of those movies where I can never keep all the details and twists and turns straight. Wish that would happen to me when I play Torment. Ah well... also saw the trailer for Hellboy 2. It looks like it will be fun.
  16. High stakes poker, like in casino royale For comparison, Pazaak was a much more fun mini-game than swoop bike racing. Pazaak? What's that Ok, to build a realistic world need enough detail design. If we have tragedy card in fallout ten years ago, why can't we have poker in AP? The problem is that in a 3D engine game add a new stuff have much higher cost than a 2D engine game. You couldn't descripe a poke game by sereval sentences. It a challenge to our dear designers in Obsidian. But they should do this job well in this market which have so many similar RPG. Oh. Pazaak is a card game in Knights of the Old Republic, and Knights of the Old Republic 2. If you haven't played either game, then the reference will make no sense. But I don't see how setting up a tension-filled dialogue while playing a game of high-stakes poker would be any more difficult than a UFC ring with people to fight.

  18. Death Proof and Planet Terror. Pure Gold. Also saw A Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More. It's been a good week for movies.
  19. Arthur C. Clarke Passes Away At 90
  20. Ferguson Fired And so the futile Ferguson era ends in T.O. Can't say I'm sorry to see him go, nope can't say that at all. I dunno what Fletcher will be able to accomplish in th short time he'll be with the team, but they have a long long way to go, to be a contender in the East again.
  21. I dunno Volourn. It may be a bit early to say 5 points is too much, but I have to think back to last two seasons when the Leafs finished very strong, missing out on only a very small number of points over their last 20 games or so, and still missed the playoffs. Given the parity in the league anymore, 5 points is a lot at the lower end of the playoff bracket. That's without even mentioning the Leafs' utter lack of consistently decent play. Think I gotta go with Kor this time.
  22. I don't care how long it's taking this game to be released, I'm looking forward to it, and if the graphics aren't all that intense I won't have to upgrade to play it.
  23. How about as Beorn. That would be good for him.
  24. We've been enjoying it for 700 years.
  25. *wheezewheeze* It's almost too good to be true! :D I guess this means they'll have to go on an 8 game losing streak to compensate. Shhh, they'll do no such thing. What's really amazing is that they're only 3 points out of 2nd place in the conference, and only 7 behind Ottawa for 1st. Well, given Ottawa's recent collapse, I guess it's not that amazing. What's amazing is that Ottawa went on a 7 game losing streak and is still 1st in the conference. The east is mediocre so far this season, no doubt... but the Sens were 16-2 or something like that before the 7-game losing streak. That's quite a lead built up.
