  1. WTF?! I never said that. Where the hell did you get that from? You stated that you can't put the two consoles in the same category when comparing their sales figures and I disagree with that. I never implied that you said one console is better than the other, this is about sales figures here, buddy. I understand what you're saying in terms of vehicles but this isn't like that. You're saying the 360 is like a 4wd vehicle and the PS2 is like a compact car. It's like the 360 has more features than the PS2. The only thing different between the two consoles is that one has a better engine than the other, aside from that they both offer the same features... BOTH systems play DVD/CD games BOTH systems have online(internet) capabilities BOTH systems have optional hard drives BOTH systems play DVD movies BOTH systems use controllers BOTH systems connect to your TV via Component, S-Video, or composite. So, when looking at the SALES FIGURES there's no reason why you can't compare the PS2 to the 360.
  2. That's a perfect quote. That seems to be arguing style of many on these boards. God forbid we actually respect other people's voice and opinions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How was his response any different? If people around here want some respect then they better be willing to show it in return. It works 2 ways, man.
  3. Um, what? The PS2 is a video game console that plays DVD's, the Xbox 360 is a video game console that plays DVDs. They're both billed as video game machines, it's not apples to oranges. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. You are both oversimplifying the market. Wrong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No we're not man. Don't say we're wrong like you're god and know everything, you're not and you're wrong about this. You're not comparing apples to oranges like you say, the PS2 and 360 are both video game consoles that use the same media format how can you not put the 2 in the same category? This isn't like comparing the N64 to the PS2 where you have 2 different types of media(cd-rom and cart) and one system does more than the other. The PS2 and 360 both use DVD, both can get online to play games, both allow you to watch DVD movies, both have these things called controllers, and funny enough, both connect to your TV. What doesn't the PS2 do that the 360 does? Is it because the PS2 isn't labeled a "next-gen" console? But then again, what exactly are you comparing here? If it's sales figures then they fall into the same category, if it's tech specs then the 360 has the clear advantage and it's not really a fair comparison or if it's games then the PS2 has the advantage. I'm looking at the sales figures and they're telling me that more people are buying a PS2 over a 360. People want games and the 360 doesn't have them.......yet.
  4. Um, what? The PS2 is a video game console that plays DVD's, the Xbox 360 is a video game console that plays DVDs. They're both billed as video game machines, it's not apples to oranges. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly.
  5. I'm not waiting for them to address these heating issues before I buy one. I'm pretty sure that if something does go wrong Microsoft will fix it. What I am waiting for is a better selection of games so it's worth the $400 purchase. Maybe a better selection other than FPS or Sports games.
  6. Yes, the game library for the 360 is pretty lame and this was the problem with the orginal Xbox. It's why I won't waste my money on one....yet. I don't know what sales were in June but according to NPD the PS2 is still outselling the 360(as of May). It's great they sold 5 million units but it's pretty sad that you can't outsell a 6yr old console.
  7. Awesome! I just registered to attend PAX on the 26th. They better f-ing be there and they better have a demo I can take home to tide me over until the game gets released! Only then will I forgive them for moving the release date and ruining my birthday! :D

It's probably going to be like Oblivion. So, I would call it an Action-RPG. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's really not an RPG at all. Comparing it to Oblivion is like comparing Dues Ex and Half-Life. HF is purely a FPS game, Dues Ex is a hybrid. Every preview and clip I've seen of the new Might and Magic game points to it being strictly a FPS with medieval weapons and magic. The physics sound awesome though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  9. World of Warcraft, for what it is, is a fun game to play. Is it worth $15 p/mo? Well, I guess that largely depends on the player. I can tell you that in the 1yr I did play it was worth the $15 p/mo and I only played maybe 10-15 hrs p/week, if that. I probably would have invested more time into it if I had the time. Thanks to having a Wife and 3 kids my game time is limited to after they go to bed but that still gave me a few hours to play. What was cool for me was being able to play with real life friends who live in other states. We didn't get to hang out like we used to but we got to hook up in a game which made playing WoW worth every penny. I would say if you're a casual gamer like me or a hard core gamer you'll enjoy playing WoW but after a while and doing the same stuff over and over again you will get bored with it eventually. On my playing time I got 1 yr worth of enjoyment out of it and I haven't played for the past 3 months -- now I'm getting somewhat of an urge to play it again. It's probably the only MMO I'll ever consider playing since it does cater to someone like me who has limited playing time.
  10. If you didn't like the leveling & how everything scaled to your level then you might want to check out this mod.... Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul
  11. I was playing Titan's Quest and got my character to level 16. Went to load my game up the other night and it told me my character file was corrupt - lost everything. The game is fun if you enjoy "hack-n-slash" but I've run into several problems when trying to do multiplayer and now with their crappy save system I've lost my game. If the game allowed you to save in more than just one slot then this wouldn't have been an issue. So, now I'm playing Temple of Elemental Evil(patched & Co8 mod) and KotOR 2. Trying hard not to give into my friends, who want me to come back to World of Warcraft.

I believe the new Might and Magic game, which looks really good, is due out in September.

CRAP! So much for playing NWN2 on my B-day! Now it's going to be even longer before I get to play it because late October Final Fantasy XII gets released and that takes precedent over any RPG out there.
  15. That first part, right after you speak with Kreia, I just run my way through the droids to the control room and deactivate them without even fighting them. I get a good chunk of xp too.
  16. This is the biggest reason why I stopped playing.
  17. KotOR 3 will be on the 360 as well as the PC. I agree with you about consoles though. Why should I waste $400 on a 360 when I have a PC that does what the 360 can do and better? Besides that, a majority of the games being released on the 360 are also available for the PC so I'd pretty much be throwing away $400 for nothing.
  18. Eh? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, if you don't like the KotOR series then nevermind.
  19. You can add KotOR 3 to that list.
  20. The game looks lame...just like the 360.
  21. I never said I didn't like Diablo. I said, if you don't like click-fests then you won't like this game. I think the game is fun, just wish it had a better save system and I could rotate the camera 360 degrees.
  22. Fun game if you enjoy a click-fest. Like some people have said, the game plays pretty much like Diablo and if you like those sort of games then you'll have fun with TQ. What I love about the game so far is character customization. You basically choose a primary class(i.e. caster, fighter, rogue, healer, or ranger) and then at level 8 you can pick a secondary class. So, it makes for some unique character builds. Loot in the game is done pretty much like Diablo in that you have your "blues", "purples", "oranges" etc. which basically represent the rarity of the item you find. There are armor sets which give you bonuses just like in Diablo. My 2 biggest gripes so far are the save system and no way to rotate the camera. The save system consists of saving the game and that's it -- you click save and the game saves where you're at. I would have liked to have multiple save slots because if I screw up along the way I don't have to restart the whole f-ing game. My second gripe is the camera -- the game is presented in 3D and you can zoom in and out on your character but it doesn't allow you to rotate the camera which presents some problems in certain areas. Why this wasn't a feature, I have no idea. Aside from those 2 things the game is fun if you like this sorta thing.
  23. I wonder how it's getting a lot of favorable reviews? Apparently THQ has released a patch for it..... TQ 1.08 Link
