She came to my house on Easter.

Maybe for you. People who have played it say it's the best one of the series and it's one of only a few games to score a 40/40 in Famitsu, Japan's leading video game publication.

They didn't give Final Fantasy XII enough credit, it's going to be the best game in '06.

I pre-ordered the LE edition for $60 + free 2 day shipping on Ubi's web site. With the LE you get: HoMM 3 & 4 - remastered for Windows XP HoMM 5 on DVD Soundtrack Not bad for $10 more. Don't know if 3 & 4 will be complete with all the expansions, that would make the deal even sweeter.

Thoroughly impressed with Nintendo's press conference. Whatever the launch price is - $199 or $249, I'm sold.

I'm only 5 hours in on the Xbox version so I may hold off playing the rest of it and get it for the PC. Mainly it would be for the visuals. Although, the game seems like it was meant to be played with a controller so I'm interested to see how the whole mouse/keyboard play is gonna work.

Since my PC is out of commission I dusted off my Xbox and have been playing Jade Empire. It's actually a pretty fun game. After I finish that I plan on getting back into Dragon Quest VIII. MMO's have been taking up too much of my single player gaming time. Maybe it's a good thing that my video card went bad. :D

Well, after a couple hours playing the demo I must say I'm quite impressed. Much, much better than the beta version! I was able to adjust the battle speed to my liking and that made a world of difference for me compared to the beta version. I too love the "free" camera. Looks like Nival has pulled it off and has brought this once thought to be dead series back to life. Can't wait for this to be released.

I'm at work -- does it kick ass? :D

I agree.

The Starforce copy protection will not be used in the retail copy of HoMM V. Nival, just recently, had a change of heart and decided to do away with it.

Nice! Now I can tell my Wife what she can get me for my B-Day! :D

Single Player demo will be available for download starting Thursday.... LINK

It's probably the one PS1 RPG I never played and I beat myself daily for not doing so. Trying to obtain a copy of this game now is ridiculous. The only way I'm going to get to play it is by paying an outrageous price for it on ebay or pray that Sony brings the re-release, that they did for the PSP, over to the US.

I guess these people are talking out their ass too... PC Advisor Review bit-tech review Probably not good enough for you since you've already come to your conclusion about the monitor without even testing it out for yourself. Stick to reading that Custom PC bible of yours.
-
Buddy I was in the IT industry before you were born. And I read the specs on the monitor a month or so ago in Custom PC, and even they couldn't give it a high recommendation. Overpriced for sucker wannabe racing drivers. You swallowed a big, fat marketing pill. Only a fanboi would even consider buying that overpriced garish nightmare of a panel. Congrats! ^_^ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't even know what you're talking about -- just throwing stuff out there. Congrats to you on being a class A - *Ahem*. MOD EDIT - Keep it cool guys. tarna

Yup. This is about the closest LCD to CRT that I've come across. I almost went with a CRT but I couldn't stand to lose the space.

You knob! That is an overpriced piece of tat! You could have got an extra four inches of screen real estate for the price of that stupid badge. ++ INFLUENCE LOST ++ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yah I could have but the the screen wouldn't have looked as good as the one I got. I tried various LCD monitors, including Dell, Viewsonic and Samsung, before deciding on the Acer. Let's see your overpriced piece of **** monitor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's ... different. I had to get the matched set of IBM kit for everything. It was a business marketing decision, nothing to do with fanboyism. Nope. :D AND it's a hybrid LCD / plasma. AND I bought it nearly three years ago. How do you justify "wouldn't have looked as good"? The big, ugly red thing you have is only attractive to bower birds wannabe F1 racers ... who drive a Nissan. I suppose you have a bunch of Ferrari caps and shirts, too. How can an bezel, however beautiful you misguidedly think it is, be better than extra screen pixels? Next PC will be a custom job, though. Only best-of-breed: Dell 24" monitor might make it, depends on the state of the market when I am ready to buy in about six months or so. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Check the monitor specs before you go running your mouth. And do you always ASSume ****? I happen to work as a PC technician and I didn't buy this monitor just because it looked pretty. I purchased 4 LCD's prior to getting this one and out of all of them the Acer had the better looking screen, least amount of ghosting, which I haven't seen yet, hardly any backlight bleeding and absolutely no tearing. You probably don't even know what any of that means --- oh wait, there I go ASSuming stuff.

I could show you my tower but I'll show you my monitor instead.... :D

I use a 160 gig external Firewire drive for storage of documents/images. I use the Raptor for applications/games. If my Windows/game hard drive bites it, big deal. I can always re-install applications. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I was asking Setzer (see highlight): I noticed a significant improvement upgrading from a SATA 7200 drive. My Seagate 160gb drive was my primary and when I got the Raptor I just slaved it and now use it as storage. Load times on all my games have been cut down. It's a great drive and Size hasn't really been an issue for me since I mainly just use it for my apps and games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I'm not using my Raptor as storage. Re-read what I said -- I replaced my primary drive -- the 160gb Seagate -- with the Raptor and now use the Seagate as my storage drive.
