I could only imagine how f'd up the characters from the SNES Final Fantasy days would look today....and you thought the little sprite figures were bad.

I agree with 2 of the top 10 games -- Final Fantasy III(VI) and Chrono Trigger.

But no other FF game got a perfect score in famitsu. So it's on par with Nintendogs, whoopdeedoo. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> .....and Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Vagrant Story and Soul Calibur. All great games, mind you. I never played Nintendogs so I'm not going give Famitsu any crap for giving it a perfect score but after checking out Gamerankings.com, it seems Nintendogs received quite a few good scores from other publications, not just Famitsu. In fact, Gamespot.com, which rarely gives a game a 9 or better, gave Nintendogs a 9.1.

What's sad is, the game is being released on 10/31, which is the same day Neverwinter Nights 2 gets released. As much as I want to play NWN2, FFXII takes precedence over any game coming out, at least for me anyways. It's probably going to be a dust collector for a month or so.

Square's been dead to me since they passed on bringing Front Mission 5 to NA or Europe. So.. no. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Them Bastards! Well, look at it this way, FM4 sucked so you probably didn't miss much with 5. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actually liked FM4. Anywho... from what I've heard from those who have played FM5.... it's the best one of the entire series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Import it and learn to read Japanese. As for Square, I haven't had fun playing a Final Fantasy game since IX. I thought X was boring, X-2 was ok but it sucked playing through the same game world again and XI should have never been an MMO. XII looks good though and the same guys who gave us Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story - two of my favorite Square games- were put in charge of XII. Hopefully it works!

Ask those who play MMOs. I kid... I kid...well, except in the case of SWG. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> MMO's are nothing more than a glorified chat room.

I've never understood this argument. If story is all that really matters in a game then aren't you better off reading a book? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like reading a good book but I also like playing RPG's with a GOOD story. What's the f'ing point in spending 50-100hrs playing a game with a boring storyline?

I think you'll have it sooner than that. The game does look good. Unlike most, I thought the battle system in the demo was good and a nice change from the random turn-based battles. I watched the trailer at the official web site and was impressed with the voice acting. As long as the story is good, that's all that really matters.

That's sad but I did the same thing too. Had a week of vacation I needed to use by the end of the year so I figured what the hell. Although, I did it for Final Fantasy XII and not NWN2. Sadly, NWN2 will be sitting on the shelf collecting dust for a few weeks.
