The installation gave me two options. Easy Installation - Quick installation with default options. Custom Installation - You can customize all available options. Being the self-empowered daredevil I am, I risked the custom installation. The sheer list of options was immense. I could set the install path under Program Files, I could set the install path to another directory, I could set the install path wherever I wanted. I truly am in charge of this installation. MAD WITH POWER!

I tried out the recommended Unapproachable East - Thesk last night. First player interaction I had was a guy asking me to babysit his friend for 15 coins. I'm evil, I'm broke, and I'm taking a job as a babysitter for a pittance. She seemed like a nutter, so I knew she'd make a break for the door. I kind of hope she had, because instead she decided to accuse me of plotting to rob her and hit me. Level 1 with 7 health, down on the floor. All for 15 coins. That won't even buy me a potion to heal myself back up. I'm going to murder that character when I get a chance.

I know, but is it not true that some MMOs and MMORPGs do not charge monthly fees? As I mentioned in another topic, the only MMO I would buy at the moment is Guild wars or Guild Wars II, for they do not charge monthly fees to access their severs. Thus someone, like myself, who likes to switch games multiple times per week could stop playing for a month or two and come right back without the hassle of buying another subscription. Guild Wars can't be considered an MMO. The only time that first M comes to play is in select glorified chatrooms. Guild Wars 2 promises that will be different, but there's no telling at this point.

The monthly charges aren't charges for the software, they're charges for the servers and support (services). Unlike NWN and NWN2, they require a server farm to run and maintain large numbers of concurrent players. That's where the first M in MMO comes in.

I was able to deal with max craving the entire game. Though, there was frustration: 1) Getting adjusted to it. It's new, so you get kind of paranoid when you first start dealing with it. 2) There's a bug where a specific 2-day travel takes more spirit energy than it's supposed to 9/10 times.

So, I did buy Protoculture Collection a while back. There's just something so annoying about what they did to these series. They're not fooling anyone into thinking these three are related. The shoehorned cross series references grate. They introduce blatant plotholes big enough to fly the SDF-1 through. I think why I'm enjoying it is really in spite of it. They're actually good series on their own. I actually am hopeful for the Shadow Chronicles continuation, though. Since they'll be doing it on their own, they might be able to make a good series. There's no lack of effort in what was done to create Robotech. They obviously had passion for what they were doing, I just think it was an idiotic decision.

But no extra cost on the account of one being good while casting an evil spell, which is the point we was trying to make. HA! Good Fun!
