  1. So, he liked one game, or two games, or a million games, the fact remains that I do not care how a game matches his biblical world view, nor should a rating reflect his religious viewpoint. If he wants to rate games, fine. But please don't send other people to his site if they are looking for non-biased, good reviews... If they're looking for non-biased, good reviews, they shouldn't be looking for examples of "family friendly" information sites. They should, perhaps, go to the websites that "Examples of websites that provide demos, screen shots and reviews of computer and video games:" * Computer and Video Games * GameRankings * Game Revolution * GameSpot * GameSpy * IGN OH CRAP, THEY MISSED METACRITIC! Also, they're obviously in Gamespot's and IGN's pocket, since they list two network sites for both of these. Each of them takes 33% for that network! BIAS! Finding people taking God's name in vain offensive does not make one a "fundie." The fact that he can recommend violent games to people and recommends letting people make decisions for their own households obviously shows he's a moderate.
  2. Have you actually read this so-called "fundies" reviews? They're all very moderate except for ones with excessive blood. He really liked the Orange Box, but agrees that it's intended for Mature audiences. He also seems to feel Runescape is very boring. OMG, HE'S A FUNDIE NUTJOB! Only they could like Halo. I take issue with this review, because I really liked this game.
  3. Let's be sincere here. This is the page: http://www.esrb.org/about/resources.jsp This is the section that link is under: Examples of websites that provide information about "family friendly" video games: Also note the total number of links there is not what Nightshade would have one believe, it is far more than 9. He's using omission as a deceptive tool. It the last link in that section. And it's not uncommon for the term "family friendly" to have a religious bend to it. There's no issue here. It's an "example" of a website that focuses on "family friendly" media.
  4. She's a career woman. No time for settling down.
  5. Contra 4... you want to buy Contra 4... Anyone who can buy Contra 4 needs to buy Phoenix Wright first! I did pick a copy of Ace Attorney as a Christmas gift for my little brother when I grabbed Contra 4... Kill your little brother and inherit it back. I'm dead serious when I say those three games are among my favorite games of all time. Top 5 list, top 10 at worst.
  6. Don't make me repeat myself!

  8. Phoenix Wright Get all three or your life is meaningless.
  9. You need access to a wireless network to get online with your DS. To trade with other people, I think you have to play up to a certain point.
  10. No, it's not. We train people in things all of the time. When someone causes a car accident, do we blame their driving instructor (the one who trained them), or them? Acknowledging where behaviors are learned is not shifting the blame. We're talking about how to avoid it in the future, not who to blame.
  11. Yet they are going to have magic in 4e. So, what's the problem?
  12. How many times has Mystra died? Yet, the magic remains. Mystra will have been killed, again, and there will be Magic in 4e. Nothing you can do will change that. Unless you run around to every group playing the game and start messing up their table while yelling "NO MAGIC, MYSTRA IS DEAD" in your nerd rage. Something I can actually see you trying to do.
  13. You're the first person to bring up blame. Nobody's blaming anything for anyone's actions.
  14. I have it. It's pretty fun, only played it once, which was last night. Got past the first stage. Second stage looks difficult, but if you hang from the top, it seems to get much easier.
  15. I have blue, yellow, silver, and diamond. Haven't played much beyond Blue. Barely touched my Diamond.
  16. The biggest issue they would have to worry about is sales. If the game doesn't get on shelves in a store, then most gamers won't even know it exists.

He was. AND NOBODY CARED! Nobody cared then, nobody cares now. Proof enough that those who think like you believe the US does are a vast minority. I don't think we teach culture to troops. Doubt we did it in World War II, doubt we did it in Korea, or Vietnam. Don't think we'll teach culture in the next war, either. The US doesn't. Idiot rednecks and Ann Coulter don't represent the US.
  18. This is my picture.

  19. VALVe self-publishes for the PC. EA is only a distributor. As for other companies, I again can't say. For much the same reason. I used to hear bad things about VALVe's royalty setup, maybe that's been fixed. And hopefully games don't have the new media issues that is upsetting writers in the US.
  20. Yes. If you buy a VALVe game over Steam, 100% of it goes to VALVe. They just have to deal with bandwidth and server costs. I'm not clear on how it works out for other companies, though. id once made the complaint that they wouldn't use Steam because using Steam means they'd get less profit than from a retail outlet. However, their catalog is on Steam now!

Because they're being lied to. Though "lied" may be too harsh. Dissemination of faulty or biased information isn't always intentional.
  22. Because Valve wants to avoid what happened to 3DFX. Direct2Drive is just the same. They have to sell at prices according to agreements with the publishers. Publishers don't want to upset retail outlets, which are still the primary avenue of sales, who will understock units in response. Competitive pricing from a platform that can undercut any price at all only pisses off the retail chains. It's unfair to them and they won't deal with it.

Old news. Everyone I know loves the guy. Even the Republicans.
  24. If they wanted dead gods than they should have left that lamer Bane dead. If they kill Mystra off, they kill the weave. No weave, no magic. Sounds like they are trying to advance the FR setting into something else. They might as well just kill of the FR setting period. Bane is awesome. Who else to represent a tyrant? He's a perfect personality for the universe. Unlike Bhaal who was a lawful psychopath and Myrkul who was evil when the universe fits a neutral god of death more. They need to let Bane do some of the major changes to the universe. Cyric gets too much play despite Lawful Evil being the supposed frequently successful kind of evil.
  25. I'm with Vol on this one.
