I don't know about "forced," but both the marriage and the reunion were out of place. Would have been better served as footnotes, really. Someone coming along and commenting on it so we know it happened, no need for us to see it. It just kind of put in unnecessary soap drama into it.

Oh, and proper spellcasting for Assassins and Blackguards.

There's 0 need to press L3 to do a grab. You just need to let go of the movement stick.

Act V: Ending:

I just beat the game. 17:34 time, Solid Normal, rank of Eagle. Commentary: Good game. Story is as on par with the others. Though some of the resolutions and answered questions felt less than necessary, but they went the completionist route. Gameplay could have used more time in the stealth on a battlefield. In my 17:34, I think about 6 of them were done playing that. Maybe 7. My time could have been shorter, of course, I spent a lot of time with the bosses. I have a couple of complaints relative to previous editions, neither of which I wish to spoil. But I will say that you may or may not find the 'twist' to be less exciting than previous games. And it's felt like it was lacking something critical to the series. Everyone's a critic, I know. But it was still tons of fun. It's not my favorite MGS game, but it's still one of the best games I've played in a while. I'm about to play it through a second time if that's worth anything. More specific commentary can be found in the spoiler thread.

Pfft, that's what you get for not participating in the Metal Gear Online beta. The only move I didn't know how to do out of the box is the nutgrab. And I still haven't figured that out. I really like the new melee system. All of the controls, in fact.

From what I've gleamed, I feel comftorable in saying no. You choose which one you want to be your conversation character on the overland map and that's the only one you can use.

Why is that? I'd figure it wouldn't matter to anyone who hasn't played the original. I can't speak of Hell Kitty's specific reasons, but I can mention some common complaints. 1) It does not change significantly to account for first person aiming and tranquilizers. These changes alter how players interact with the game significantly. You can notice and attack enemies earlier and easier instead of previously just finding a way to sneak around. 2) Loss of accents. Though the accents were illogical and were retconned out, some people do prefer them. 3) Minor dialogue changes. Some people care, some don't. 4) "Out there" cutscenes, change Solid Snake from a reasonably down to earth action hero into Neo (surfing on missles). 5) Some complain that the voice actor re-recordings seem bored. Though it's something I never noticed.

4 is good. I can't give you a direct comparison saying it's better or worse than any others overall. Not until I finish and maybe replay again. I'll give these points. Gameplay: Jumps around. Unlike MGS 1, 2, 3, and PO, 4 moves between game types quite a bit. You're going to spend a good 6 hours or so doing the game type that we see advertised by the game. Stealth on the battlefield. But then it begins to jump around to other gametypes. I'm only 14 hours in, so maybe we'll get back to it for a while before it's done. Boss battles: Not as good as The End, but not bad. 3 out of 5 so far have been quite interesting. Story: So far, it's doing a lot of what the gameplay is. It's introducing a lot of old characters and moving quickly. But the test of the stories in the series has always come from revelations closer to the end. Edit: Definitely note what I said earlier, though. I played 14 hours straight in one day. My opinion of how quicly things go by might be a bit skewed.

I hope there'll be romance options available for all of my player made characters. And with each other. That way I could create a harem.

There really wasn't anything of Act 1 to discuss that was of note. We'd seen 90% of it from trailers and the remaining 10% was nothing big. But Act II? Act III Act IV

I'm glad that Tieflings have +2 Charisma, now. I'm dissapointed that they lost the +2 dexterity. I'm undecided whether to be more glad or more dissapointed. I definitely like their art, though.
