I have the combat focus ability to give me concentration. Also all my defenses are at 130+ (I can look up the real values tomorrow). And I'm immune to Paralyze (from being woodelf) and Stunned (from item) ... the only two afflictions that stop you from chanting. I also skilled both faster casting passives. You almost never get interrupted and when you get interrupted you are sturdy enough to keep you alive while you cast your next summon.

In the beta Beckoner summons had half HP. I didn't heard this was changed. But I didn't check this myself - although I play as a Beckoner. I will check this tomorrow, when I have access to my PC. But this all doesn't matter. As Beckoner/Paladin your summons on PotD solo never die. So it is completely irrelevant if the "normal" summons have 2x or 4x HP.

As multiclassed Beckoner/Shieldbearer I used the skeletons in the early game. But as I used the healing chant and the healing paladin aura the upgrade for skeletons almost never triggered. Shadows and Wisps are total garbage. Wurms are nice but melee blockers are more useful. Ogres were my upgrade for the skeletons - they do much more damage. Drakes are nice but here also melee summons feel more useful. I never tried the swamp plant, so I can not say anything about it. The best summon are the animated weapons - they are really strong and you get 6 as a beckoner. As I'm multiclassed I couldn't test the dragon. The chant for summoning skeletons is not really useful as there are better chants and skeletons are one of the weakest summons. For multiclass my recommendations for summon progression are: Skeletons >> Ogres >> Animated Weapons

Yes...he is my surgeon, other can? So I hear! I haven't actually tested it myself. No others can't help. Also after helping I always have the plague on my ship with massive morale losts while I try to get rid of it. It could be that: 1) its not possible to heal them, 2) there is only a small chance for success or 3) you need a master rank surgeon, which is not available in the game because a crew member can only get 4 stars for all jobs and there is no specialist surgeon in the game.

Marofeto Liano, on the northwestern side. My understanding is that one of his dialogue options leads to an amulet (and no training), the other opens up skill training. That is correct,I've just encountered him and avoided talking about his amulet and got the option to ask him to teach me what he's learned. You can get both. First get his training and then ask for his amulet.

My Beckoner/Paladin now uses the Animated Weapon summon on Power Level VII ... these hit even harder than the Ogres. Swarming the enemy with 6 summoned weapons each hitting for 50+ damage feels really powerful and ends most fights quickly. Also because of my high INT the duration is long enough to have them out constantly on my Beckoner. But the bad thing is that as multiclass you can only choose 2 abilities on Power Level VII. So you have to decide between: - Called to His Bidding, the Ancient Instruments of Death (6x summon) - Set to Their Purpose, They All Knew Their Part (Brilliant Inspiration) - Mercy and Kindness Followed Where'er She Walked (+100% healing) As I'm multiclassed I couldn't test the Dragon summon.

In my main save I haven't done any main quest outside of Neketaka yet. Just by exploring half of the map while skipping the main islands I reached character level 17 (with party). When you explore the whole map including the tiny islands (while still skipping the big islands) I think it should also be possible to hit the level cap.

I did recently: - Pillars of Eternity 1 on Solo PotD as Chanter - Tyranny on Solo PotD as Onehanded Riposte build - Pillars of Eternity 2 on Solo PotD as Paladin/Chanter (not finished) Based on this I would say: Pillars of Eternity 2 < Tyranny < Pillars of Eternity 1 Tyranny was challenging, but after you have all your buff spells you could beat everything without any problems. Pillars of Eternity 1 was not as hard in the beginning as Tyranny, but doing all dragons in endgame was much more challenging than Tyranny. In Pillars of Eternity 2 nothing is a problem. You can even do areas with 3 red skulls without a specific strategy - it just takes a little longer.

There are other items with scaling bonuses: - armor with deflection bonus that scales with intimidate - cloak with fortitude/reflex/will bonus that scales with history - shield with deflection bonus that scales with athletics and with damage reduction that scales with metaphysics - ... and many more But in the current state of the game it is not necessary for soloing to use these bonuses. So I would just take a couple of points in skills that are useful in interactions (athletics, survival, insight, stealth, ...)

So if 4 stars is max for each crew member, then best-in-slot crew members are: Deckhands (6): Cathenna Stormheart, Ora the Mad, Pig-Sticker Rukowa, Ragged Cerrow, Rum-Dumb Riggere, Tuliak Longfrost Cannoneer (3): Baltia, Coin-Counter Foeldas, Vanizzi Helmsman (1): Llendreth Navigator (1): Worthless Idiot Cook (1): Ushizu Source: https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Pillars_of_Eternity_II:_Deadfire_crew_members According to this there is no Boatswain or Surgeon in the game that can reach Master rank. Also there are not enough specialist cannoneers for Galleon (has 4 cannoneer slots) or Junk (has 5 cannoneer slots).

Boarding gives more loot but takes more time. With a larger full double bronzer ship you can sink most targets in a couple salvos. For me boarding is faster. But I have set my combat speed to the highest setting and have proper AI settings for my party. Killing the enemy crew normally takes 10-30 seconds. Doing the canon minigame takes more time.

That shield is a large shield that gives deflection based on Athletics skill and damage reduction based on Metaphysics skill. In the family feud quest you can also get an armor that gives deflection based on you Intimidate skill and on an island I found a cloak that gives Fortitude/Reflex/Will based on you History skill. Really? How do you get the intimidate armor then? Is it a reward for solving it a different way than the peaceful ending? Each family has a unique weapon and a unique armor. With the peaceful solution you only get both weapons. If you side with a family you get also the armor from the family that you kill. I think you get this armor by attacking the Valera family. I worked for Valera first and eliminated the other family for them. After doing the quest I killed also the whole Valera family. This way you can finish the vault quest (this locks you out of the peaceful solution), get both unique armors and altogether 3 unique weapons (you get 2 copies of the Valera unique weapon ... one as quest reward and one as loot after killing them). Also you can easily rob the treasure chamber this way. Make sure to do the quest for Martino first (removing the mercenaries from the tavern) - one of them has a nice unique ring that gives +8 accuracy and +1 penetration for ranged weapons.

After doing all quests I first worked for Valera. This gives more Reputation (with Valerian Trading Company), also you get both unique Weapons and the unique armor from Bardetto. After the quest you can attack the Valeras to get a second copy of the Valera unique weapon and their unique armor if you want.

I play as a Beckoner/Paladin. By stacking Intelligence on equipment and power levels you can get enough duration for the low and mid tier summons. At character level 12 I have these durations: - skeleton = 16.1 sec - ogres = 31.5 sec So ogres are easy to maintain (3 phrases = 18 sec). But skeletons are more difficult (2 phrases = 12 sec), because you must also pay attention to your current recovery time and the summons cast time. For higher summons you can buy a special chanter sabre in Neketaka. It gives you 3 phrases when you empower a summon invocation. You can enchant it to refund you the used empower point. So just empower all your summons to have +50% duration (empower gives +10 power level, each adding 5% duration) and get 3 phrases back for your next summon. By using this weapon it is easy to maintain the higher summons even as a Beckoner. For Beckoner summons its 50% health of originals, damage/accuracy/defenses are the same.

Are you talking about the +100% healing chant? So, multiclass characters only get level 7 at 19 and 20? Yes, they hit 7 at 19 from what I've seen. Don't get me wrong, this is an extremely potent healer, but it becomes that at level 19. Like I said, how much of the game is even left at that point? I feel like builds should mature much earlier to get max enjoyment out of them. https://pillarsofeternity2.wiki.fextralife.com/file/Pillars-of-Eternity-2/new_multiclassing_table.jpg I play on POTD as an Shieldbearer/Beckoner with Party. Exalted Endurance, Ancient Memory and the Healing Aura from the unique shield you can buy is enough to keep everyone alive ... even my summoned ogres most of the time. Nobody was killed in a fight yet. If someone gets to low Healing Hands is really useful, because it prevents them from dying (upgrade from shieldbearer). The +100% healing chant should make things even better. As for experience ... I haven't played much. But only doing stuff in Port Maje and Neketaka without doing any quest outside these islands has given me enough EXP for Level 12. If Deadfire is somewhat like the first game then you reach max level at half of the game. In think this build can also be used for SOLO (but I would prefer Shieldbearer/Beckoner for this). Your defenses and healing is enough to keep you alive and your summons kill the enemy. There are a couple of items that give scaling bonuses - for instance there is a large shield that gives deflection bonus that scales with Athletics skill and damage reduction that scales with Metaphysics skill. By siding with one of the families in the harbor you can also get an armor that gives a deflection bonus that scales with Intimidate skill. By combining these you can get really high defenses.

Here my file: global.zip The file should go to %HOMEPATH%\Saved Games\Pillars of Eternity II\Achievements I haven't played very long, so I only got the easy achievements - altogether 27 point to spent This should be enough for: - +2 all attributes (15 points) - +2 all class skills (3 points) - special item shop on first island (5 points) - expert captain rank (4 points)
