  1. Performance issues aren't universal though. I have like a 6 year old processor but an nvidia 1060 (though apparently people are struggling with nvidias) and I have 0 performance issues. What Sorcery is this ;D? I honestly want to see the hanging sepulchers with all those skeletons with a firewall or two on top of that. Not being an **** here, but I'm really, really skeptical about that.
  2. Resolve is not useless. You very well can have a character that quickly shrugs off statuses. More so with items. People used to talk about that in a Paladin/Monk combination, which, considering Potion of Major Recovery, can very well be achieved with baseline 10 Resolve in any Paladin/x combination. You have so many ways to raise defenses, on top of having the resistances and additional bonuses vs afflictions from Crusader(if you will be playing that, that is.) You can have a very well rounded Paladin if you consider your equipment carefully. I just don't see what you will gain by raising Resolve by a few points... . Either go full ham on it, and cover that with appropriate items, otherwise baseline does very well on Paladin.
  3. If you're talking about that particular character, he was at a solid 50% crit rate before he started using more scrolls. There are just so many ways to raise Accuracy and you can add conversions as well. We shouldn't forget debuffs. At worst I've stopped taking it over 10, and it's fine. I really do value Dex the most, closely followed by Int.
  4. Perhaps mine would have been a 10 without the performance issues?
  5. Giving a 10 to Deadfire is not a realistic score. Assuming everything is perfect in regards to roleplaying games, you're left with the performance issues. That alone must bring the score down.
  6. Was supposed to get Halgot's Warmth from Pitli in exchange for the medicine, but nope, no ring. Good thing I am not that crazy for the bonus.
  7. Bear in mind I'm playing a vanilla shifter. You might actually look into disabling all offensive druid spells altogether.
  8. Scrolls are a good way for people with less experience of the game to get into it. It`s a sort of an equalizer. That`s why everybody can use them to almost the same success. But once you do go through the game with scrolls, you wonder if there aren`t other ways you could do things. The way the Evo Shifter functions is a bit too universally good. It`s a bit ironic that mant2si--somebody who has become dissappointed with Paladin passives, suggests that a class should get a boost to it`s weak sides. Most classes, probably with the exception of Paladin, Monk and Chanter, have some sort of balancing factor, which comes down to limited resources or offset stats. If you want Shifter to be there on the top of the meta(stupid word for a single player rpg), then by all means. The vid I'm talking about is this--https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/106376-which-are-the-two-least-optimal-or-tuned-up-multi-class-combinations/. I've chosen two sub-optimal, or at least, not very popular classes to run the game on potd, upscaled and deadly Deadfire modded. I will be uploading a few other vids before I post a separate thread xD.
  9. Currently I'm playing a Mage Slayer/Shifter with Deadly Deadfire on. That's arguably more penalties on top of what you've already done, but without the benefits of shifting. While it isn't a class that can solo the game like an Arcane Knight can, it's quite alright. I even did a small video in the thread you posted, as well. While I do agree than perhaps the class is a bit flat, and some of the abilities seem exciting and fun, I must say that some of the benefits are really, really strong. From what I understood, you're giving a number of possible shifts for each form, which means that you'll be able to cycle between bear, stag, wolf, or whatever else the situation calls for. I also saw penetration bonus for all forms, as well. I do appreciate the greater variety and adaptability, but I think it's too strong now .
  10. So the vanilla shifter felt boring to you and you decided to break the game with it?
  11. OK. In the end I went with Wael/Ghost Heart Itinerant and a Mage Slayer/Shifter Tempest. I think two classes which will either not be able to solo all the content or have great difficulties doing so. Seems fun so far, though. This is POTD, upscaled and Deadly-modded. The theme is Husbando & Waifu.
  12. What's wrong with the manor? I get the robes, I get the passphrase, but I never get the option of telling it to the imps? My Journal indicates that I've done everything I need to do, including looking through Fassina's Diary.
  13. Oh... I'm sorry. Trully. I really didn't catch that
  14. Oh... so that's where my amulet went... I thought I've done something wrong. Now I'll know, I need to only kill them x).
  15. I don't understand that platitude. That something wasn't right with Edison is a given. But why compare him to me?
  16. Easy there, Edison. What?
  17. No they don't. They make you do side-quests if you want to have enough XP to progress through the main quest, but the amount of side stuff you're required to do is absolutely in line with any other RPG that has pointless numbers telling players how strong everything is, like The Witcher 3 that Ass Creed Origins and Ody take the most inspiration from. Precisely the point. Your standard must have lowered somewhat, especially since you mention Witcher 3 and Origins, because it's with these games that artificial stat fest takes place instead of a more varied design with encounters. If you like that, that's fine. I'm probably in the minority here, but still, I don't understand what is so appealing to have one enemy with at a point in the game, then have the same variation of said enemy, but more bullet spongy and with increased damage. I'd have to disagree, voting with our wallets our wallets has no affect one way or the other whatsoever if a game continues to have micro-transactions or not. In most cases, it's the publisher's decision anyway, who make the call. If you are not forced, why should the dev recieve punishment for it? No, I am not forced. That's why I don't participate at all. I've already said that a model that assumes people will partake in it spoil the game mechanics to a degree. And as long as people even spend a dime on something that costs less than that to implement, it will be in there, rinse and repeat.
  18. Because even if you buy the game you can ignore the microtransactions, which I would imagine also sends a much clearer picture on your opinion than just not getting the game and leaving them to wonder why vs (hypothetically) 80% of buyers not touching the micros. The problem with that is that the Dev don't need more than 20 % of the community using microtransactions. They can still do meta data on those labeled 'spenders,' as the internal practices of another company recently indicated. Microtransactions do not belong in a single player game. Arguably--they shouldn't exist. The second problem with that lies with the rpg elements themselves. Instead of a tighter and more original style of gameplay, you're stuck with something that assumes you may partake in said microtransactions, so even if you don't partake, they still somewhat ruin your game. Buying the game sends the message to the developer that they can get away with it. Once you stop supporting the base idea is when it will be over. Not gonna happen, I know.
  19. I kinda shrug at that, to be honest. I guess it's debatable how historical the games actually are, but they do put a super human of some description into them all the time... what if they sought inspiration from historically accurate assassins? Hmmm.. I like their open world games, people hate admitting it but some tend to implement rpg elements and actually do them better than rpg games. I enjoy Ubi type open worlds as long as they have a hook. Watch Dogs was great because you can hack nearly everything which made cop chases particularly entertaining and I got so many laughs from the hide and seek multiplayer mode, hiding in bushes and such while hacking someone else's cell phone. Tis a forum, all things are to be hated if they aren't a Crpg Reminds of how once in awhile someone on the forum tries to convince everyone how first person shooters and action games suck and are mindless because it's cool to hate those type of games if you're a rpg plyer, some crap like that anyway. I've learned it's usually that the person stating such things just got older and can no longer keep up with the reflexes needed to play such games. Fortunately there's a balance out there, a forum who has people saying the opposite and how the games we like are horrible and overrated. This brings the balance to the world. I do omit context from my opinion. But let me say this: I am wondering why would people repeatedly buy a product that sends a message to the developer that they can get away with stuff like micro-transactions in a single player game. Concerning Odyssey in particular... man, you don't want those kinds of rpg elements in your open world, or otherwise, games. Their scaling is atrocious, and they make you grind for stuff to artificially increase play-time for absolutely no reason. The sign of a good rpg, open world, action, or otherwise, is to let the player use their character's strong feats and mind the negative ones to tackle down a problem--combat or a puzzle. About reflexes... Odyssey is allowing people with poorer reflexes to play it. No dev would be so dumb as to make something like Onimusha(because Dark Souls is inspired by it), but with reduced time windows and much less telegraphing. And if Odyssey wanted to be a better rpg, they would have scrapped the scaling and instead sought inspiration from games like Onimusha, and maybe a page or two from Dark Souls, too. All in all, the first Creed was the game.
  20. Was going to say, just show a finger at the corner and leave her there. Otherwise, just withdraw and then blast everything Electric Dyslexic style.
  21. Sweet deal . I still wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
  22. His Reflex is weak. Slicken gets him quite good. Ray of Fire will get his Iron Skin down.
