Tbh we know her backstory which is very interesting but the sad truth is that most people went ape**** about her for fapping reasons Okay let's take a moment to be fair and insert some perspective. People were excited for a number of reasons. Her design, regardless of however many people will swear up and own it is "anime", is actually very good. Her background makes her out to be one of those potentially crazy Edwin type characters which was really absent in Eternity 1. Durance is really just a self absorbed ****, and Hiravias is just a horndog. Neither are really that slightly crazy, but definitely evil, mix. She is the only pale elf team member of any variety, and lots of people like pale elves. No, mercs you hire at the inn don't count. She is the only person who can be a rogue at level one other than Eder. Unlike Eder, it actually makes sense for her to have rogue levels. This is potentially the biggest reason for those of us who care about the lore of the game, she is the only party member option from either game that is actually an Animancer. A profession you REALLY should have had represented in Eternity 1's party, since most of your team didn't care, or was against it. In fact, was anyone other than Pallegina pro animancy? Yes, promancers wanted a female elf option. Get over it So yeah, there are some good reasons people liked her as a character and wanted her to be more than a sidekick. 1-5 points were the things that made me think she is the most interesting among the sidekicks (or even the new companions) but I didn't go crazy about her. It's just basic info. None went crazy about any other sidekick And let's be honest, most of the comments had to do with her looks mate So basically... most of the backers are horny teenagers.

Walking Part 2
daven replied to Osvir's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I believe the same thing happens in Shadowrun Returns/Dragonfall/etc. That's a pretty good way to do it I reckon. -
Eurgh not sure why I re clicked on this topic. How has it gone on this far? Why give time to this nonsense?

i wanted to discuss what this could mean moving forward, It can mean Obsidian will be working very hard to avoid anything controversial, Tiptoing around and that could impact the quality of the writing and story, For example the Raedric hold in PoE 1. Hell the whole Religion thing in PoE 1. Seeing how Deadfire begins with a god literally eating our protagonist's soul, I'd say your concerns are entirely groundless. A single person distancing themselves from the company because they said stupid **** on the Internet does not indicate anything. You're just trying to drum up outrage. I never said that obsidian Will suddenly become EA because of this. Small steps. Im worrying about this being start of the slippery slope Dude, stop flapping. This is so pointless, it's not even worth talking about.

I have no idea what you're on about mate. Try proof read your messages before you post them. I don't want to be a grammar Nazi or whatever but come on, how can you get everything so wrong!

OK I never took a rogue and I'm pretty sure I never had trouble picking any locks or sorting any traps at all. Also... why bother having locks and traps at all if everyone can always pick/disarm them? Or maybe there should be another way to deal with them. Using a spell or bashing it open/throwing some kind of item at the trap to start it. DUNNO

daven replied to Osvir's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
That was dumb. Well I'd rather talk about walking then that other nonsense topic which everyone can't seem to stay away from. I love going for a good walk, oh yes! I could go for a walk right now... When's the last time you walked? edit: I really feel like playing Suikoden now... great avatar! -
Two-handed sabers
daven replied to meppe's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
When I see armour spelled "armor"... hooo boy! -
To paraphrase Mr Plinkett - When a (game or) movie has to go out of it's way to appease every demographic and type of person possible, it just sucks.

Two-handed sabers
daven replied to meppe's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
In British English yes, in American English (according to Wikipedia) it's spelled saber. However in Pillars of Eternity it was spelled sabre so I'm not sure I trust Wikipedia, not that it matters given I am a Brit. Them bloody colonials! Need to get them back under the banner of the empire!
