  1. Yes, it's perception now and to find all hidden objects and traps by end game one will need a score of 20 perception (buffed).
  2. I like the idea of a more clearly explained system, but if that doesn't happen, what I do is: quicksave game, enchant an item, and quick load the game if i'm not happy with the results.
  3. Roll the old Berath's Wheel is so good. Lyrics below: Oh, a drop of good spiced rum wouldn't do us any harm! x3 And we'll all hang on behind... And we'll roll the old Berath's wheel along We'll roll the old Berath's wheel along x2 And we'll all hang on behind And a bowl of Huana stew wouldn't do us any harm! x3 And we'll all hang on behind... And we'll roll the old Berath's wheel along We'll roll the old Berath's wheel along x2 And we'll all hang on behind Oh, a stolen chest of Pires wouldn't do us any harm! x3 And we'll all hang on behind... And we'll roll the old Berath's wheel along We'll roll the old Berath's wheel along x2 And we'll all hang on behind Oh, a-skirting Ondra's water wouldn't do us any harm! x3 And we'll all hang on behind... And we'll roll the old Berath's wheel along We'll roll the old Berath's wheel along x2 And we'll all hang on behind Oh, a night in Queen's Berth wouldn't do us any harm! x3 And we'll all hang on behind... And we'll roll the old Berath's wheel along We'll roll the old Berath's wheel along x2 And we'll all hang on behind And we'll roll the old Berath's wheel along We'll roll the old Berath's wheel along x2 And we'll all hang on behind
  4. So, from what I've read in these forums, it seems like the 15% fire damage chant and Sure-handed Ila are the go to phrases (are they still called phrases in PoE2?) right now. I've been using 15% fire dmg + ancient memory on my beckoner or just 15% fire dmg at the start of fights then switch when I need healing. They must have nerfed The Dragon Thrashed or something from the first game, or is it just that the other chants are better now?
  5. Okay, so it seems I just haven't landed on the right island yet. Thanks for all the helpful replies. I really appreciate it.
  6. Hmm, yeah there's a good chance it may be bugged, in that case. I definitely talked to everyone in the town with no results pertaining to this quest. Ah well, hopefully it gets fixed.
  7. It tells me that the first step is to sail to Tikawara which I did. I talked to every NPC in town, I cleared the island map and killed everything I encountered. I saved the caged creatures before killing the broodmother. Nothing I did will trigger this quest to update and I don't know what to do at this point to complete it.
  8. So from what I have observed in my game, it seems that for inspirations, the same one doesn't stack with itself but instead refreshes the duration (if it's longer) of the first instance of said inspiration. I think that modals do stack with inspirations and constant sources like gear. Am I wrong here?
  9. I'd much rather a game have an abundance of currency available for the player to use to test different gear, ships, and consumables. Also, it's nice to be able to retrain whenever I want, supply my ship for as much exploration as I can do, enchant, craft, etc. I dislike when games give you so little currency that you have to pick what not to get and you can't get all the most powerful items in a single playthrough. Dragon Age: Origins would have been so much better with a lot more available gold. Shadowrun: Hong Kong suffers from a lack of money too which I feel really hurt these games overall.
  10. I personally found this build on youtube to be pretty damned insane for dps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HisHGoWvHU Check out his channel because he has a lot of builds recently posted and many for dps characters.
  11. Thanks for posting a great build that I will definitely have to test out. In the screenshot, it's showing ancient memory at 3.1 health per second. I'm guessing this number has not taken into account the +100% healing bonus from your other phrase, is that correct? So it's actually 6.2 health per second, right?
  12. I really like the mental fortress thing completely removing the downside of picking Berserker. Another cool thing that works even though you can't see your health is low is setting up auto-pause when a character is low health and it will tell you when your Barb is 25% health or below even though you can't see his health.
  13. Isn't might one of the only ways to increase healing done, making it more important for healers? What other options do healers have besides might that will increase their healing? I know there are some items that increase healing received but that's all I can think of at the moment.
  14. Okay, the wiki was changed today after I made my last post in this topic and it now correctly reads that it adds "additional bonus damage to their weapon attacks when the target is Flanked, affected by any Affliction, or within the first two seconds of combat starting."
  15. You can do this by turning off all behaviors and then selecting aggressive from the Auto Attack dropdown menu which means that particular character will look for enemies to auto attack. You don't have to turn off other behaviors for it to work, though. That's just if you ONLY want them to auto attack and no other automation.
  16. So when reading sneak attack on the wiki I noticed that the description says bonus damage while attacking a target with ANY affliction. However, when reading the other text in the ability description it says extra damage when the target has a MIND or BODY affliction. Are mind and body the only 2 types of afflictions or is something in the ability text incorrect?
  17. I was considering whether or not to take this ability on Eder, but instead opted for more defensive abilities instead. It seems like the knock-up could be good or bad depending on whether it's more important to stop that enemy from attacking/casting or to keep attacking that enemy yourself. I'm curious about how long the enemy stays in the air as well. One thing you might try is turning on party AI and removing all the behaviors so that they only auto-attack aggressively. This may help them to reacquire a target that has been sent flying.
  18. I think the reason they are 1 level lower is because of the ability to fully customize them (including attributes) to fit perfectly with the type of party and playstyle that you want to use. For example, in Pillars 1, sure I could use Durance (Dex=9) to buff my party and debuff the enemies, but he'd do it a lot slower than a custom priest with maxed out dexterity for faster casting speed. It's probably much for the same reason that multi-classing takes away access to PL 8 and 9 abilities. In short, I think it's for balance reasons. Besides, all your characters can reach max level including ones that you create yourself.
  19. This thread changed my life. I was doing what the OP said to sell stacks. The more you knoooow...
  20. Wow, this is extremely helpful, thank you! Bookmarked This may be worthy of a sticky, no?
  21. I have found the story to be engaging and well written so far but maybe the Italian translation needs work. I can't really say since I'm playing the English version. My only regret is not doing my first playthrough on Veteran and not enabling scaling when I started. I didn't do this because I found the first game to be nicely challenging and the difficulty to be appropriately described when selecting it. On my first classic playthrough, everything just dies way too easily. I also like the sea battles even though I haven't successfully completed one except by boarding the enemy ship. I'm still on the sloop and just don't have the firepower to compete with most other ships out there in a cannon war. I liked the Witcher 3 on my first time through it but found it really hard to replay because I'm the type that always goes for 100% completion and even in the intro map there are too many question marks on the map denoting a point of interest that I felt like I absolutely had to explore (again) before continuing to the next area. It's also a pain to start a new collection of Gwent cards and collect every single one of those. Once you've done it the first time, it just feels like a chore after that.
  22. I hope that they do make it harder when they can get around to it and include Classic difficulty in their tuning as well. I started PIllars 1 on Normal difficulty for my first playthrough since I figured playing Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 properly prepared me for that. However, I found it was too challenging for me since I wasn't familiar with any of the game mechanics and had to do my first playthrough on easy until I got the hang of things. The difficulty of normal actually made me like the game more since there was clearly tons of room for growth and improvement on my part. Once I did get the basics learned I was able to play on normal without problems and a lot of it was easier than the first time I tried it. Now, in Pillars 2, I started out on Classic expecting the challenge level to be similar to the first game's normal, but instead it feels like less of a challenge than my completely blind playthrough of PoE1 on Easy. I hope they tweak the difficulties to provide more challenge in general, and maybe, eventually, I will learn the game well enough to play a properly tuned, extremely difficult, game on PotD.
  23. I took single class Cipher Serafen in my game because I like his personality more and I like ciphers ever since the beginning of PoE. Of the two, he fits the pirate theme better too, I think. I also didn't have a pickpocket in my party yet when I came across him and he fits that role pretty well. As far as Orlans being Barbarians, I picked an Orlan Barb for my first playthrough of PoE1 and he was focused on interrupting enemies using maxed perception and dual wielding warhammers. I think there's no race/class conflict there. Maybe them being short is why you don't picture Orlans as barbs?
  24. Thanks for a very informative post. I was curious about this stuff. But wouldn't Hit chance be like the ship's accuracy instead of the difficulty of being hit itself? I think this is the way it is since the Junk is supposed to be a glass cannon as opposed to the more tanky Galleon. It seems to me like these are the 2 best ships for end game right now.
