  1. That's an odd thing to say as without the cutting edge CGI and Cameron, Avatar wouldn't be Avatar. Would apple pie be as tasty if it didn't have apples and wasn't pie? "Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's good" is a worthless statement as it doesn't tell us anything about the product in question, it's simply an attempt to dismiss the popularity of that product. An attempt at criticising something without offering any actual criticism. "X is popular", on the other had, does tell us something about a product, it tells us that for a whole lot of people it's doing something right. What it's doing right might not match up with ones own personal criteria of what makes a "good" movie, but despite claims to the contrary popularity does mean something.
  2. Sure, like MC I've seen people claim they choose female over male characters because as you say, they'd rather stare at a female model's ass. Enoch's focus on ass, however, is not the same as Bioware "selling the game by swinging sex in our faces". It's less "ass-centered" than "back-of-the-head" centred.
  3. No, the butt fetish is all you.
  4. So did this mugger pull out a gun after he threatened Killian, or is old KK just the fastest draw in Crazytown? As for political correctness, I agree. It's gotten to the point where you can't even call the retarded kid a retard. It's political correctness gone mad!
  5. He was way more liberal than most Christians these days. Folks really need to lay off the whole old testament you'll-burn-in-hell schtick and get down with the judge not..., do unto others... program. Ol' J was all about the love. New Testament 4 Life.
  6. I'm not a number cruncher, I prefer role-playing to roll-playing and my eyes glaze over when people talk about "builds", but I still like turn-based combat.
  7. Does the merchant have any have any tunnel scratchers? My tunnel is very itchy. Never accept curry from a suspicious looking dwarf.
  8. I'd like a Ronstadt-46 please. Have people refer to it as "The Linda".
  9. Is that a joke ?. What's wrong with Ronald McDonald House?
  10. They needed an excuse to reset your character level and let you change classes, and while I'm fine with , it does seem kinda silly that that they can do this with just . Whatever, I'm really really looking forward to this game.
  11. You do realise that Dead Rising is a shining example of a *broken* game. lol, no. It all works as it's supposed to. You might wish it worked differently, but that doesn't make it broken.
  12. With kirottu in the group, gender is meaningless. Using my Awesomeness, I convince Checkout Chick of Tunnel Mart to give us a 250% discount on every second item.
  13. I am Tunnel Fighter, raised by my parents Nook and Cranny to fight in tunnels. I am however, ideologically opposed to fighting and have a phobia of tunnels. I have only one stat, Awesomeness, and in that I have 100 out of a possible 10.
  14. Frankly, if raping someone to death makes my morality box tiny then I couldn't be happier to be in a tiny tiny box. Raping good people to death = evil. Raping bad people to death = good. Hope this helps!
  15. This isn't really true. It's the same as many other games, switching between cutscenes and gameplay. It's just that while the cutscenes make up a small percentage of most games, the cutscenes in MGS4 make up a pretty damn huge percentage. There are sections like the motorcycle chase that fit the interactive movie label, but it doesn't really describe the majority of the gameplay. From here: I'm guessing that while big things like whether the council lives may perhaps be decided by dialogue for players not using a previous save, smaller changes will only be there for people using a save.
  16. You're a one-dimensional character telling recycled stories. As for the film, I shall watch it at some point during the course of my life.
  17. When everyone is running the same software on the same hardware, if it was the game itself, then everyone would have those same problems. I've had problems with PS1 and PS2 games crashing/freezing on me, and they were all rented games, most of which didn't appear to have any troublesome looking marks or scratches on the disc. For example, the copy of Vice City for PS2 from the (then) local Blockbuster looked fine, but when entering a certain part of the city graphics wouldn't load properly and the game would eventually freeze, making it impossible to move past a certain part of the story. A brand new copy of the game however, didn't have this problem. So while the rental disc looked fine it obviously wasn't.
  18. Did you You've got to That's the only thing I can think of. Yes, I did. In order to get 100% on the PC, you have to do 'Challenges' that are seperate from the main game/story line. For example, there's one where a waves of goons attack you and you try to get a high score. Oh sorry, I getcha now. Yeah, the console version is exactly the same. Checking just now, apparently I've completed 84% but have a mere 5% for challenges. I don't know why that would be annoying unless you have a compulsive need to get 100%. I was hoping for Batman: Somewhere Else, but I suppose there isn't really anywhere else that's as iconic as Arkham while offering such a variation in the environment. Basically I was hoping to be able to run around a large chuck of Gotham City. From the looks of the teaser is seems the sequel won't just take place in the new asylum, but also in the surrounding areas of the city, so maybe I'll get my wish after all.
  19. RE4 breathed new life into a long-running* and very popular game series. It's a series that people have grown up with, going from PS1 to PS2 to GC and now to current gen systems. I bought a GC specifically for the RE series. The RE series has the continuing adventures of a group of characters I've grown to love. Part of the appeal of the upcoming DLC for RE5 is that is brings back the two main characters from the original game, (Chris & Jill) and puts them in the same setting as the original (scary mansion). Sure it's all b-movie comic book nonsense but that's just part of it's appeal for me. DS on the other hand has been influenced by a bunch of things I love (scary spaceship movies, RE4 gameplay, System Shock 2 setting) yet for me personally it fails to live up to any of them. While I enjoyed DS, it's only natural my reaction to it was going to be different from my reaction to RE4. *Despite having a 4 in the title it's really number 6 in the series, not including all the different spin-offs.
  20. Did you You've got to That's the only thing I can think of.
  21. Fallout 3 crashed to desktop once or twice, but otherwise I never had a problem with it. Oblivion was also pretty good, until I got a new video card and then it crashed all the damn time. Mostly when using doors to move between indoor and outdoor areas. Once the video card was eventually replaced the problem was solved. What happens when a console game crashes? System freezes? Switches off? Anyway, this is a problem either with that specific disc, that specific console, or some sort of power issue, not the game itself.
  22. If RE4 is practically the same game as DS, then that's a mark against DS, not RE4. I'm suddenly reminded of the Flight Of The Conchords episode where Murray is trying to convince himself that a Polish bands version of "Doggy Bounce" is a cover version of his own groups hit, even though it came out 13 years earlier.
  23. I guess it depends on what games you've played. The stand-on-the-spot-while-waving-your-arms-around stuff that's typical of modern RPGs isn't terribly impressive next to cutscene conversations in most modern action/adventure type stuff. The in-game cutscene animation/direction in the Metal Gear Solid series is miles ahead of any other game, and having played those games nothing much else seems very impressive to me. I felt the same way. Leliana's animations and facial expressions put me off at first, but I thought the reactions from other characters was great. Anyway I've really enjoyed this game, already completed it twice and it just occurred to me that this is the first Bioware RPG where I've really liked all the party characters (as opposed to liking some and not giving a damn about the rest). I didn't think I'd end up liking Shale but it turns out is one of my favs. I'm like the opposite of Monte Carlo, more interested in characters and adventure and what not, playing the thing on easy because I don't really care about combat.
  24. It's not like anyone is going to be being employed specifically to look for video games, so there isn't any extra resources devoted to Risen and AvP. They look through your stuff, if you've got anything that can't be brought in it gets taken away.
