  1. My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override Dump 'em in there. I'm using a mod that removes PC starting skills, and another that does the same for NPCs. Good times. As for the Leliana singing scene, the only problem I had with it was that it kinda highlights how limited the animations are. The way characters just stand on the spot and wave their hands around. Not a problem limited just to this game. Some of her facial expressions during that scene were off, which really brought it down for me.
  2. I imagine they look for anything illegal. It's part of their job. What's funny about that? Whether they'd be able to identify a specific game as banned is another matter, I guess.
  3. There are plenty others you can use. Same with direct download stuff, some games won't be available outside North America while others sell the same game worldwide. That's how I got Risen*. *Risen was banned because of the player being rewarded for using drugs and prostitutes.
  4. Most Australians don't know and probably wouldn't care if they did. This is the fault of one man. It's ridiculous but as as the article Calax linked too points out, in the grand scheme of things games just aren't important enough for anything to change as long as this douche is in power.
  5. No. While an artist will strive to do their best within the limits they've been given, there is only so much you can do with 320x200 CGA, and it's most certainly not impressive. The limits placed on an artists have no effect on the quality of other aspects of a game. It doesn't matter how creative one is if they don't have the skill to do anything with that creativity.
  6. No, it clearly doesn't. In the 20 years I've been gaming while the quality of graphics has improved dramatically, both technical and artistic capabilities, the quality of writing hasn't changed much at all.
  7. Having low level 2D graphics doesn't make a game more likely to have good writing.
  8. I'm gonna tell. Anyway, the last episode for the year screened here in Oz on Monday, and I can say if it doesn't come back I won't really be too fussed. As for Carnivale, a damn shame we only got part one of a three part story.
  9. This is freakin' me out.
  10. lol. That sounds pretty far from "almost totally right".
  11. I dunno, surely the fact that you got 60+ hours out a an enjoyable game does excuse [insert stuff you don't like about game here]? Mind you, I not one of those crazy people like slowtrain who spends countless hours playing a game while claiming there's nothing good about it. I'm one of those crazy people who likes his hobbies to be enjoyable.
  12. That's just the cover story I tell your mother because she'd be devastated if she found out I never gave up the man-whorin'.
  13. Now get off the internet and go do your homework. Don't make me lock you under the stairs again.
  14. Just how many people does one have to have sexual intercourse with to earn the label "slut"? Does the amount vary based on gender?
  15. Emma, there is something I must tell you...
  16. NO, THERE WILL DEFINITELY BE A REASON.
  17. Most of your comments only reinforce my opinions that Palestinians are lunatic jerks who would blow you up as soon as look at you and get away with it because they're of darker skin color and therefore must be in the right in the world's eyes. You get that from reading Calax's posts? Really? How bizarre.
  18. It's not the piece of paper that matters, it's how one feels about it.
  19. I enjoyed D1 & D2 back in the game, but I'm no longer terribly interested in Diablo-style stuff, so it's an easy pick for me. Elder Scrolls. I've enjoyed previous games in the series well enough. Beth improved on their formula with F3 and I'd be interested in in seeing how they continue with 5.
  20. This is where I ask slowtrain what constitutes being bitten in the butt, because people seemed to have interpreted it as it makes angry internet men even angrier. Peter Molyneux is without doubt the best and most extreme example, but other than getting himself a bad rep, how is he a problem? Those Fable games sell pretty well. And while certain folks may vomit all over themselves at anything Bethesda says, hype certainly hasn't done any harm to sales of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises.
  21. Saying that no game can ever be as good as the hype claims is really no different to saying that no game can ever be as good as reviews claim. Whether or not a game is overhyped depends on how one feels about that game, and possibly how cynical one is regarding marketing and user feedback. Do you have an example of this? ? Not all games get demos, but that's always been the case, but they're not really that rare, either.
  22. Cyberpunk & Vampires. At least one of those things is popular now.
  23. Inspirational?
