I'd argue that past the general Zombie slaying, a grand second to second experience, Dead rising is "completely unplayable". lol. It's one thing to argue against design aspects/complain you personally don't like parts of the game, but to claim it's completely unplayable, well that's just false. Of course, by putting completely unplayable in inverted commas I guess you don't mean you think it's literally completely unplayable, but not being a mind reader I can't possibly know what your problem with the game is. While zombie killing is all well and good, that's not really the point of the game. Zombies are merely an obstacle, not the real enemy.

CRPG. I'm surprised people think they would use the old WoD setting.

More confirmation of WoD MMORPG
I'm interested in a potential World of Darkness MMO*, but there is nothing in the first post that means anything to me. It's like Thief 4, it's in development, and that's nice and all, but with no other information there is nothing to get excited about. * And I'm not even an MMO player, it's more that I'm interested in the game world. Same reason I'm interested in The Secret World. I've played trials of a few MMOs before and they've never really thrilled me too much. WoW, Eve, City of Villians, some DnD thing, and a free one where you played three characters at once that I downloaded solely because I liked the look of the funky character outfits. CoV was best, because I just loved making lost of awesome characters. The portrait generator in Eve was also fab. Man, I sure do love creating characters. Like that old game Twilight 2000. Never played the damn thing, but it sure did have a great character generator. And I want an RPG with the strengths and weaknesses system like in Daggerfall. I'm hungry, I want a sandwich.

Genuine courage
I've always had a problem with people being labelled heroes based on their chosen profession, be it soldier or cop of firefighter. Ignoring the actions of an individual and instead focusing on the idea of what being in that job means. Referring to all those in a particular group as heroes by default diminishes the actual heroic acts of specific individuals. Like Captain Chavasse, who is pretty ****in' awesome.

A Sierra fan I see. I was more of a Lucasfilm fan. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis The Secret of Monkey Island: Lechuck's Revenge The Secret of Monkey Island Gabriel Knight 1: Sins of the Father Labyrinth* * Mostly nostalgia. My first ever adventure game. And now that I'm all nostalgic, I also must mention the Amiga game Elf. It's combination of adventure game and platformer was the greatest thing ever, or at least I thought it was at the time. Easy.

BF Bad Company 2
LAME. So some game you're working on will win the hearts and minds of FPS gamers, causing them to toss aside CoD?
-
BF Bad Company 2
In terms of technology, definately, without a doubt. Oh, that's all you meant, how boring. Lesser technology won't stop the juggernaut that is CoD.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Raymond Cruz was pretty much exactly as I imagined Ding. Willem Dafoe as Clark, not so much, though he played the character perfectly.

BF Bad Company 2
Maybe this is the game that will finally render CODMW2 obsolete? If only Nightshape would reveal the truth to us...

Concern for the difficulty
Er, that doesn't make any sense. The hud has a bunch of useful information, turning it off takes that away.
-
Concern for the difficulty
I agree with mkreku that Crysis is a good example of how to do different difficulty levels. Also, Assassin's Creed lets you turn off all hud elements, which I think is pretty cool, though it's not tied to a difficulty system.

The Truth Is Out There
It's clearly a wonky-eyed alien. You don't really want to believe, do you Purkake?
-
The Truth Is Out There
I'd rather avoid it if possible, but I'm cool with hillbillies recounting their experiences.
-
The Truth Is Out There
I hope the aliens turn out to be the bug-eyed anal-probin' kind, not the boring just-like-humans-but-with-forehead-ridges kind.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
This is also correct. Well done, alanschu! When it comes to health systems in FPS, I don't really care either way. I like some more than others, but ultimately it's not a big enough issue to get my knickers in a knot. I think it's amusing that people make up stories to explain how horrible and unrealistic regen is when they're both pretty silly if you put too much thought into them. That you are unable suspend disbelief for one doesn't make the other any better.

The Truth Is Out There
If I'm supposed to trust no one, does that mean I can't trust them when they reveal the aliens are real?

EA cutting 1500 jobs
And you are able to present evidence that this in fact the case w/ EA at the moment? And you are able to present evidence that this in fact NOT the case w/ EA at the moment? When someone asks for evidence supporting a claim you make, this is about the lamest response you can give. You made the claim, the onus is on you to back is up. maybe when i would be in some sort of court maybe... and i have not stated anywhere that it is a fact... read my post again... studios "CAN BE" bad aswell... CAN BE != ARE I was speaking generally, not referring to this specific discussion. Like I said, such a response is terrible when asked for a reason for your claims. Of course, stating it's just an opinion and not a fact doesn't really add much. "Why do you hold that opinion?" "Why shouldn't I?" Whatever. As for EA, I liked that they were willing to bring us new IP like Dead Space and Mirror's Edge, and I don't know what this news means for the sequel to the latter. I never bought into the whole evil nonsense and I'm not about to start now. It's just business.

Yes, but your opinion is the correct one. Oh, and hasn't this game been made obsolete yet?

Dragon Age DLC
There is no need for any DLC at all, or any base game for that matter. Games are luxury items, there's nothing essential about any part of them. Bethesda didn't need to include this function in the DLC, nor did they need to include in the base game. Bethesda could have allowed continued play after the ending but they didn't, just like the original Fallout and most other RPGs. They did, however, include this in one DLC. This is not a problem. Sure, because they feel they are missing out, missing out on something they believe they are entitled to. That's not true. If you have a problem with the DLC then you can "vote with your wallet" by not buying the DLC, you don't need to miss out on the base game. If you refuse to buy the base game then your issues with the DLC become irrelevant because it's not something you can use anyway.

Dragon Age DLC
That's true of all DLC really. As far as limiting is concerned, it all depends on how you look at it. For example, if an additional mission is available as DLC, does it add to the existing missions, or does it prove that the publisher limited the base game by denying you that mission in order to make the DLC more attractive? Just how full is that glass of yours? It's both. To call a product "intentionally weakened" is to assume that the additional content first existed as part of the base product, but was then ripped out to sell later, that you were supposed to get it to begin with, at no extra cost. ie, Something for nothing. There is a game I want. I buy it. Explain how that works against me?
